A beloved former star of Bravo’s Real Housewives of New York is reportedly vying for the coveted role in the upcoming first-ever season of The Golden Bachelorette.

Fans of both shows are buzzing with speculation about the potential reality TV crossover. Could this be the moment that The Bachelor goes outside the franchise for the lead?

Rhony Reboot Renewed For Another Season

The Real Housewives of New York City debuted in 2008 as the second installment of what would be Bravo’s most popular franchise. But after 13 seasons, the entire Rhony cast was replaced with younger stars. Season 14 of the rebooted show premiered in summer 2023 to stellar ratings.

Bravo confirmed last month that the show had been renewed for Season 15 with Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Erin Lichy, Jenna Lyons, Jessel Taank, and Brynn Whitfield all returning.

The network didn’t cut ties with the Og NY Housewives.

Dorinda Medley was once one of the most familiar faces of The Real Housewives of New York City.

Nowadays, the show has forged a new path with an entirely new cast, but Medley believes the recipe for success is mixing up the cast.

In a new interview on Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast, the Rhony alum pitched a special that would find Erin Lichy, Sai De Silva, Jenna Lyons, Jessel Taank, Brynn Whitfield, and Ubah Hassan taking a trip to Bluestone Manor in the Berkshires.

“We should send those new girls up there for a night and see how they fare,” the 59-year-old declared.

Medley wouldn’t want to intimidate the new cast members, so she would ensure that only “a couple” of the legacy cast members were a part of the project.

If Erin Lichy didn’t want to start a feud with the original Real Housewives of New York City ladies, she probably shouldn’t have mentioned them.

As Monsters and Critics previously reported, Lichy shut down rumors that the legacy and new cast would be merging during a recent appearance on Housewives Nightcap.

Things got pretty awkward when the Rhony newbie was asked about Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Dorinda Medley, Kelly Bensimon, Sonja Morgan, and Kristen Taekman reuniting for a season of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip.

“It was cute,” the mother of three said in response to the question.

Given her delivery of the above sentence, we’re inclined to believe it was shade thrown at the OGs.

The ex or, as some would say, "paused" The Real Housewives of New York City wrapped up their time in St. Barts, and even though they mentioned Scary Island plenty of times, it was a rather dull trip. First season alums Luann de Lesseps and the controversial Ramona Singer were present alongside bestie Sonja Morgan and pal Dorinda Medley. Former models Kelly Killoren Bensimon and Kristen Taekman also joined the trip, yet the chemistry between the bunch was lost. The six-piece had the occasional bout of drama, especially between Bensimon and Taekman, who got off on the wrong foot, but never enough to truly reel the fans in. Sadly, they also didn't truly convince anyone that their friendship was still intact.

The Real Housewives of New York City had severval memorable cast members. Eboni K. Williams, the first Black woman to join Rhony, didn't bring enough to the show but remains a memorable housewife. Dorinda Medley, known for her hilarious quotes and drunk outbursts, is considered one of the most iconic Rhony cast members.

Since The Real Housewives of New York City began in 2008, several memorable cast members have emerged that fans still talk about to this day. The inception of Rhony began in March 2008 and is the second installment in The Real Housewives franchise following The Real Housewives of Orange County. It quickly became a fan favorite as the women of New York City were much more quirky and hilarious compared to the other Housewives spin-offs. Many of the women from Rhony also were full-time cast members for ten seasons or more, including Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan, and Luann de Lesseps.

Luann de Lesseps is currently starring in Bravo and Peacock’s The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Rhony Legacy, where she reunited with her co-stars of The Real Housewives of New York City.

Among the housewives she reunited with was Sonja Morgan, who she stars with on Luann and Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake. The show premiered over the summer and had its two stars trade the glamorous Big Apple with the rural Brenton, Illinois. Viewers were able to see a lighter side of De Lesseps and Morgan and questions regarding a second season have been coming up.

In a recent interview with Deadline, De Lesseps gave us an update on conversations regarding another season of the show.
