The Best Menendez Brothers Documentaries To Watch After Netflix's Monsters

Ryan Murphy's latest entry in his "Monsters" anthology series, "The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story" -- a series which began in 2022 with Evan Peters as infamous serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer -- focuses on Erik and Lyle Menendez (Cooper Koch and Nicholas Alexander Chavez), two brothers accused and subsequently convicted of killing their parents José and Kitty Menendez (Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny) in the late 1980s. Unsurprisingly, it's already courting controversy the way Murphy portrays the siblings and their family dynamic.

This happened with the "Monster" season focusing on Dahmer as well, with relatives of the real-life killer's victims saying the series "retraumatized" them and more or less glamorized Dahmer himself, so it's not entirely surprising that Murphy's often sensational approach to real stories is making waves again. Snoop Dogg calls it like he’s sees it. On Saturday, his candor provided extra entertainment during his surprise appearance at American Family Field during the Milwaukee Brewers’ game against the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday, which the Brewers won, 3-1.

The rapper treated fans to the first pitch of the game. He warmed up on the mound with his moves from the music video for “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” and Brewers first base coach Quintin Berry joined him. The rapper then threw a strike to Berry.

DGA Awards TV Noms Include ‘Ted Lasso’, ‘The Mandalorian’, ‘Bridgerton’ And ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ Helmers

The Directors Guild of America on Monday revealed its nominations for the 73rd annual DGA Awards in the fields of TV, commercials and documentary. The guild, which will unveil its theatrical feature film and first-time feature film nominees tomorrow, will announce this year’s winners April 10 during a virtual event.

Among the notable nominees today was Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso, the Golden Globe and Critics Choice winner. It snagged two noms today for directors Zach Braff and Mj Delaney in the Comedy Series category. It is joined there by HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm which also pulled off the double, for helmers Erin O’Malley and Jeff Schaffer.

Jon Favreau was nominated for two separate projects: for Disney+’s The Mandalorian in Dramatic Series and Netflix’s The Chef Show in Reality. CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert director Jim Hoskinson also scored two noms.
