Royal Blood Announce New Album ‘Typhoons,’ Drop Title Track
Image
Royal Blood have announced their new album Typhoons, with the British rock duo also sharing the title track from their upcoming LP, due out April 30th.

Like their 2020 single “Trouble’s Coming” — Typhoons’ opening track — the duo’s new track “Typhoons” finds Royal Blood reconnecting with the electronic music acts that inspired their 2014 debut album, namely Daft Punk, Cassius and Justice.

“We sort of stumbled on this sound, and it was immediately fun to play,” Royal Blood’s Mike Kerr said in a statement.

“That’s what sparked the creativity on the new album,...

Bono Reveals What He Learned From ‘Almost Dying’ – and Says ‘Music Has Gotten Very Girly’
Bono‘s latest inspiration for his most recent album Songs of Experience came from a near-death experience.

The U2 singer, 57, revealed in an interview with Rolling Stone for their January 2018 issue that he almost died but refused to divulge details about the event.

Despite refusing to speak on the incident, the star did say the 22-time Grammy-winning band’s latest album explores the theme or mortality.

“It’s just a thing that . . . people have these extinction events in their lives; it could be psychological or it could be physical. And, yes, it was physical for me, but I think I...

Watch Royal Blood's Scorching 'Lights Out' on 'Corden'
Royal Blood
British hard rock duo Royal Blood unleashed a ferocious performance of "Lights Out" on The Late Late Show With James Corden. The track appears on the band's new album, How Did We Get So Dark?

Bassist-singer Mike Kerr and drummer Ben Thatcher built a bruising wall of sound out of just their two instruments and some cleverly triggered background vocals. Thatcher's thunderous drums served as a sturdy foundation for Kerr, who showcased his rock hero credentials on "Lights Out" with his crystalline wail, an array of monster bass riffs and a otherworldly,...

Bradley Cooper Photobombs Brad Pitt and Makes Onstage Appearance at Glastonbury
Brad Pitt
How do you upstage Brad Pitt...offstage? Easy, just as Bradley Cooper. The actor masterfully photobombed Pitt as he took a selfie with a fan, musician Chris Simmons, at the 2017 Glastonbury Festival in England Friday. "When you get your photo with Brad Pitt photobombed by Bradley Cooper!" Simmons wrote on Instagram, alongside the pic. British rock band Royal Blood also posted on Instagram a photo with Pitt, joking that he was a fan who had won a meet-and-greet contest. Cooper also surprised fans at Glastonbury when he crashed Kris Kristofferson's set to film a scene for his movie A Star Is Born, his directorial debut, starring Lady...

Brad Pitt Gets Photobombed by Bradley Cooper at Glastonbury Festival
Brad Pitt
Amongst the estimated 175,000 campers and concert-goers at the Glastonbury Festival this year was one special celebrity guest: Oscar winner Brad Pitt.

The 53-year-old actor, who was recently fired from his job as weatherman on Comedy Central’s The Jim Jefferies Show, swung by the five-day performing arts festival in England — snapping pictures with some of the performing musicians.

He even watched on from the side of the stage, NME reported, as Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn delivered a rousing speech on Saturday that tackled unity, racism, education, child poverty and social inequality.

Musician Chris Simmons shared a selfie of he and...

Leeds Festival 2015 Review : 7 Best Performances On Sunday
Leeds Festival/Tom Martin

Sunday at Leeds Festival was a big day, in more ways than one.

With rock the order of the day after Saturday night’s crowning slot for Mumford & Sons, the Main Stage boasted a mix of rising and risen talent that most festivals would probably reserve for a lower level stage. But then that’s part of Reading & Leeds’ charm: it’s not stuffy or pretentious about booking, and it’s clearly not afraid to offend or provoke.

The highlights on the excellent third day were numerous and mostly unsurprising from bands who have great live shows in their blood, but familiarity never breeds content where class is concerned.

Props too to Fidlar, who were good, despite the fact that their second microphone wasn’t turned on at first. Likewise Atreyu – uncharitably pushed aside by a clash with the hugely popular Royal Blood – had their own...

Last-Gen Version Of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 Releases In November; Full Soundtrack Revealed
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 won’t be released for the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 on the same date as the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 version, Activision has announced.

As is becoming the norm, it seems, last-gen versions of cross-generation titles are receiving less and less precedence over current ones. It does make sense, after all. The Xbox One and PS4 are now the primary console platforms, and while Activision haven’t stated whether the development of the last-gen version of Tony Hawk will be outsourced to another studio – it wouldn’t come as any surprise if it has.

The current-gen version is still on course for an October 2 release, with the 360 and PS3 versions following a month later in November.

In addition to the above news, Activision have also released the entire track list that’ll you be listening to while skating and grinding your way around town. Check it...

10 Best Hard Rock And Heavy Metal Songs Of 2015 (So Far)
Felipe Dana/AP

As festival season is well underway, we are now at the halfway point of the year and it has proved a fruitful one for rock music. Despite the claims that ‘rock is dead’, the genre has been revitalized somewhat in the mainstream with bands like Royal Blood and Muse bringing their harder flavor of rock to the general public.

This has been further solidified by the recent study on Spotify that suggests that heavy metal is more popular than pop music. Though slightly misleading, it’s clear that both genres still maintain a passionate and loyal fan-base.

2015 has also saw a resurgence of older artists making a return to the center stage with bands like Slayer taking to the metal pulpit once again and the much anticipated album release by Faith No More after eighteen years out of action. It has also been a great year for...

My wife likes the group Haim, particularly that song "The Wire" and I like what M83 did with the score for Oblivion, so just maybe the collaboration of the two on the song "Holes in the Sky" for the The Divergent Series: Insurgent soundtrack will bring us together in some unexpected way.
