Melvin Gregg, Rotimi and Allen Maldonado are the latest stars to join New Line’s reimagining of the 1990 hit comedy “House Party,” produced by the SpringHill Company for HBO Max.
The trio join stars Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Tosin Cole, Karen Obilom and DC Young Fly for the new movie, produced by LeBron James and Maverick Carter.
The reimagining of the cult classic, which starred Christopher “Kid” Reid and Christopher “Play” Martin of the hip-hop group Kid ‘n Play, is set to be directed by award-winning music video helmer Calmatic in his feature directorial debut. The movie’s script comes from Emmy-nominated “Atlanta” duo Stephen Glover and Jamal Olori.
The 1990 movie, written and directed by Reginald Hudlin, was a major financial success for New Line, earning $26.4 million at the box office and cult status with fans. The movie also features Tisha Martin-Campbell, Martin Lawrence, A.J. Johnson, Daryl “Chill” Mitchell and Full Force.

Mary Elizabeth Ellis and Tawny Newsome have been cast in the lead roles of the ABC single-camera comedy pilot “Woman Up,” Variety has learned.
Ellis will play Liz and Newsome will play Phoebe, two former teen moms who worked their asses off to see their daughters all the way through high school graduation. And now at 35, they’re ready to make up for the youth they never had.
In addition, Kym Whitley will play Phoebe’s mom Edna, Gabrielle Elyse will play Phoebe’s daughter Angela, and Abby Quinn will play Liz’s daughter Grace.

New Girl alum Mary Elizabeth Ellis and sketch comic Tawny Newsome (Bajillion Dollar Propertie$) have been set as the leads in Women Up, ABC’s comedy pilot from Life in Pieces star Zoe Lister-Jones.

Damnation alum Chasten Harmon and Vannessa Vasquez (East Los High) are set for recurring roles on ABC’s new legal drama The Fix, from Marcia Clark, Mandeville TV and ABC Studios.
Co-written by O.J. Simpson prosecutor Clark, The Fix centers on Maya Travis (Robin Tunney), an L.A. district attorney who suffers a devastating defeat when prosecuting an A-list actor for double murder. With her high-profile career derailed, she flees for a quieter life in Washington. When the same celebrity is under suspicion for another murder eight years later, Maya is lured back to the Da’s office for another chance at justice.
Harmon will play Star, daughter of Sevvy (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje). Vasquez will portray Dia. Details of her character are under wraps.

Amazon has ordered a third season of their animated kids show, Tumble Leaf. It's unclear how many episodes have been ordered this time around. The first and second seasons have had 13 episodes each. Six installments of the second season have been released so far.
Created by Drew Hodges, Tumble Leaf is a stop-motion series that features a blue fox named Fig, his caterpillar friend Stick, and other residents of the island of Tumble Leaf. Episodes focus on helping preschoolers learn basic science lessons.
The cast includes Christopher Downs, Brooke Wolloff, Jodi Downs, Landon Clay, Addie Zintel, Gary Littman, Alan Franzenburg, Emily Downs, and Steve Downs.
