6th Annual Collaborating For A Cure Ladies Luncheon To Benefit Cancer Research
Iconic fashion designer Dennis Basso presented an exclusive fashion show to a sold-out crowd at the 6th Annual Collaborating for a Cure Ladies Luncheon that raised $40,000 to benefit the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (Swcrf).

In its sixth year, the event has grown to become one of the must-attend spring charity events for New York City’s most fashionable and elegant philanthropists to raise money for groundbreaking cancer research. This year, the event featured Mr. Basso and drew more than 100 fans and customers of his sophisticated designs, some who wore their favorite Dennis Basso “couture” dresses.

For the second consecutive year, Susan Gutfreund hosted the event at her famed Fifth Avenue home. Before the fashion show commenced, master of ceremonies Don Lemon of CNN Tonight introduced both Dennis Basso and Dr. Samuel Waxman, founder and CEO of the Swcrf.

Don Lemon To Emcee 6th Annual Ladies Who Lunch For A Cure
The Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (Swcrf) will host its sixth annual “Ladies who Lunch for a Cure” at the private Upper East Side residence on Tuesday, May 14th, 2019 in New York City.

The event will feature an exciting fashion show from Fashion Icon Dennis Basso and will be emcee’d by Don Lemon of CNN tonight.

On his involvement with the event, fashion icon Dennis Basso said, “As cancer has touched all of our lives, whether our family, friends or colleagues, research to find a cure is of upmost importance. What the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation is doing is really an incredible job as they try to reach this cure. It’s such an honor to be associated.”

With regard to the success of the luncheon, Swcrf Founder and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Samuel Waxman said, “We are thrilled to collaborate with Mr. Basso for this event to support groundbreaking cancer research.

The Eighth Annual Better World Awards, themed Roc4Humanity, and benefitting Wells of Life was held on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at The Loeb Boathouse where it recognized outstanding humanitarians who have made the world a better place.

Jean Shafiroff was presented with the Humanitarian Philanthropist Award, by New York State Assemblywoman Rebecca Seawright. Acclaimed photographer Harry Benson, Cbe, was presented with the Humanitarian Arts Award by Kerry Kennedy, President of Robert F. Kennedy of Human Rights Foundation. Philanthropist and author. Fred Schneider was given the Humanitarian Musician Award, and Claudinette Jean, wife of Wyclef Jean, was given the Humanitarian Helping Hand Award.

The event was hosted by CBS Radio and CNN anchor, Rita Cosby, and Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin, CEO of SohoMuse.
