Sara Serena Khan Zafar-Singha was born in Hampstead, London.

A bit of a mongrel, her upbringing was a mixed bag of multiple traditions. Her Father Shyam (Half Indian, Half English) was an Alternative Practitioner. Her Mother Lubna (Pakistani, Persian and Turkish) a Medical Journalist.

Being brought up in a Asian dominant household, studies still came first. However, Serena came into her talent at an early age. She scored her first professional acting role at six, waving her Hat at the Monkey in a Coco Pops commercial.

She started regular acting & dance training in London at Pineapple Studios & Silvia Young. However in 2004, her parents moved to Dubai for a few years where Serena starting modelling and doing more commercials.

Eventually, Serena found herself in formal training at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles.

Since graduating, Serena has landed herself several roles in Film, TV & Theatre. Her most recent role being Nadine in the Award winning film 'I SEE' (2021). An independent film based on psychological traumas we can encounter everyday.

Another is Mina in the independent film Taweez (2020). A story based on the traumas that Asian/Islamic women still go through to this day.
