CBS has ordered a pilot titled “Eternally Yours,” a blood-sucking love story from the writers and executive producers of “Ghosts.”

The single-camera comedy, from Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, follows two vampires who have been married for 500 years. The undying couple is challenged when their daughter begins dating a human.

In August 2024, CBS announced it was opening a development room for “Eternally Yours,” which has since wrapped. Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum and Jason Wang serve as executive producers on the project.

“Ghosts,” meanwhile, isn’t disappearing any time soon: In February, CBS gave the spooky sitcom a two-season renewal.

Around the same time, CBS ordered the single-camera workplace comedy pilot “Dmv,” starring Tim Meadows as a former high school English teacher turned examiner, who wants nothing more than to get through the driving tests as quickly as possible. That show, from writer Dana Klein, has since been ordered to series.

After being out of the picture for much of Season 3 of Netflix's The Lincoln Lawyer, Maggie McPherson is about to have a big role in what's being billed as the show's most personal yet. Neve Campbell was promoted to a series regular earlier this year when Season 4 was officially ordered, and it all but assured that the attorney would remain close by her ex-husband Mickey Haller's side as he fights the murder charges against him. It's the perfect time for a comeback, as Maggie has long been a fan favorite and an emotional anchor for Mickey, given the history the characters share. Series star Manuel García-Rulfo promises that their ever-evolving relationship will be front and center in the upcoming run, too.

NCISstar Wilmer Valderrama is producing a new comedy for CBS. Known for his breakout role as Fez in That '70s Show, Valderrama joined the long-running procedural as Special Agent Nicholas “Nick” Torres in the NCIS season 14 premiere. He's been a mainstay of the franchise since then, helping to bridge the gap between Mark Harmon's exit and Gary Cole's arrival.

Valderrama has ventured beyond the screen, working as a director and a recording artist. He also published a memoir, An: American Story: Everyone's Invited, which was released in September 2024. The veteran performer is moving forward with another venture that's slowly taking shape.

Justin Hartley is teasing what fans can expect from his “Tracker” character, Colter Shaw, in Season 3 of his hit CBS series.

“I know we’ll get to the nitty-gritty of why my mother hired this guy,” he told Variety Wednesday at the premiere of his new movie “Bride Hard” in Los Angeles. “Was she protecting her kids? Was an affair happening? Was the government involved? Was it strictly just my mother? Why did she hide that from us for so long? Why did she lead me to believe that it was my brother who was involved when he wasn’t? It seems like this divide-and-conquer thing that she’s doing. It was just an odd thing to do with your children. There’s some deep psychosis there. We’ll unpack that.”

Rebel Wilson wants to see her “Pitch Perfect” character, Fat Amy, get married in the fourth installment of the comedy franchise.

She hopes the movie will film sometime next year. “There’s a lot of us who are directors now,” she told Variety on Wednesday night at the premiere of “Bride Hard.” “There are many candidates – Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow, Kay Cannon, who is the original writer and Elizabeth Banks, so we’ll see. I’m about to direct another movie, so that keeps me busy until early next year. Hopefully, it’ll go into production next year.”

When asked about what’s next for Fat Amy, Wilson said, “I think there should be a wedding.”

Women can have everything but a personality in director Simon West’s offensively bland work-life balance comedy, “Bride Hard.” Rebel Wilson stars as an American spy on the hunt for a single redeeming quality in Magenta Light Studios’ wedding party-turned-hostage negotiation. It’s been 13 years since Anna Camp broke out with Wilson in “Pitch Perfect,” and the box office success of that franchise made the actresses’ reunion in a new movie inevitable. Still, they deserve a better match than “Bride Hard.”

The problems start with Shaina Steinberg’s misguided and shallow script. A pale imitation of “Bridesmaids” (which earns its punny association with the Bruce Willis action classic even less), Wilson and Camp’s latest film sets out to answer, “Should these childhood besties stay friends?” Instead, it collapses into an ad-laden sameness that is not only deeply unfunny but recalls the infamous “Game Night” question: “How can that be profitable for Frito Lay?...

With the likes of Disney’s 2025 Lilo & Stitch and DreamWorks’ How to Train Your Dragon remake in theaters, the task of having to tackle the current US box office is no mean feat. With that in mind, positive early responses become crucial as word-of-mouth helps to boost ticket sales. A new action-comedy movie featuring a reunion of two of the stars of Pitch Perfect franchise has been met with derision from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. The trilogy of musical comedy movies, which followed the exploits of the college a cappella group the Barden Bellas, debuted in theaters between 2012 and 2019, followed by the one-season Peacock spinoff Bumper in Berlin in 2022.

Joining the ensemble cast of the Pitch Perfect movieshelped cement a number of up-and-coming stars who have since gone on to other major projects. Anna Camp is taking a big step in her relationship!

The 42-year-old You actress and girlfriend Jade Whipkey made their red carpet debut at the premiere of Anna’s new movie Bride Hard on Wednesday (June 18) held at the Directors Guild Of America in Los Angeles.

Fellow cast members in attendance included Rebel Wilson, Anna Chlumsky, Justin Hartley, Sherry Cola, and Gigi Zumbado.

Rebel Wilson had a bloody accident while filming her new action comedy “Bride Hard.”

In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Wilson recalled a “massive injury” she sustained during the production of her new film, which resulted from a mishap in fight scene choreography.

“In a fight scene, a gun accidentally got whacked across my face,” Wilson said. “It was just a freak accident, and my nose got split open, so I left set. It was really my last night of shooting. I was like, ‘How unlucky can I be?'”

She went on to say that the accident, which occurred during “the last fight sequence” on the shooting schedule, resulted in a “pool of blood.”

“I was freaking out,” she added. “They take an ambulance and they have to call a plastic surgeon, because if they didn’t, I would have been permanently disfigured. So we got the plastic surgeon,...

In all likelihood, the pitch for “Bride Hard” was “‘Bridesmaids’ meets ‘Die Hard,’” as it’s a smart shorthand for an easy sell. Audiences who’ve seen both films will instantly recognize the story beats in an innovative mash-up centered on a spy who must win back her friendship with a bride while also juggling wedding festivities that go sideways when mercenaries wreak havoc. Though a bit rough in its execution, made worse by janky visual effects in the third act, the film is buoyed by the gentle comedic charms of the ensemble, sweet thematic resonance and Jackie Chan-style stuntwork. There’s an old expression that goes, “If you can’t think of anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” I propose we update that a little. “If you can’t think of anything nice to say, you’re probably talking about ‘Bride Hard.’”

Let’s be perfectly frank, since I don’t know any other frank way to be: A lot of comedies aren’t very funny, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re terrible. A movie can be light and good-natured and get you through your afternoon even if it doesn’t have a single thigh-slapper. I don’t even think I’m a tough audience for comedies. If you make a bright and competent movie without a lot of laughs I am usually willing to hand wave the whole experience away as a harmless trifle.

But “Bride Hard” harms. It’s abrasively hard to watch.

Yes, season 4 of the stylish legal thriller is underway, with Mickey Haller in serious trouble after the wild cliffhanger ending, where a client turned up dead in his trunk. Of course, it is not the best day at the office, but fear not, help or chaos is on the way.

Well, a fresh set of guest stars is stepping into the legal mess. The upcoming season will feature a gutsy paralegal-in-training, a no-nonsense cellmate with international flair, and a real-life TV reporter playing, well, herself, and others. With the courtroom heat rising too high and the Lincoln wheels still spinning, season 4 is definitely going to have a bumpy legal ride.

Recent years have been filled with quality horror films. The trend has continued in 2025 with titles like Companion, The Monkey, Sinner, and the slasher Heart Eyes.

The latter offered viewers a slightly different take on the regular slasher trope, with a Valentine's Day twist and a release date to coincide with the holiday. Although the film is considered one of the best slashers of 2025, Heart Eyes did not reach its full potential at the box office. Luckily, the movie became extremely popularon streaming, entering the Netflix charts shortly after its release on the platform, per Tudum.

Pitch Perfect fans might still hold onto the hope that a fourth film gets made, but in the absence of updates, Rebel Wilson's next comedy might help to fill the void. The actress is reuniting with fellow Barden Bella Anna Camp in Bride Hard, playing Sam, a special agent whose latest mission is to be a bridesmaid at her best friend's luxurious destination wedding. Although blending in isn't particularly her forte, the protagonist will be challenged to not blow her cover when the celebration is hijacked by a team of mercenaries, who threaten to ruin the big day with their machine guns and bazookas. Filled with action and Wilson's comedic flare, the upcoming film will arrive in theaters just in time for wedding season.

Rebel Wilson is making her action debut with genre-bending comedy “Bride Hard.”

The “Bridesmaids” alum reunites with her former “Pitch Perfect” co-star Anna Camp — who plays the bride of the title — for the feature directed by “Con Air” helmer Simon West. Wilson plays a secret agent whose work gets in the way of her personal life during the weekend she’s the maid of honor at a destination wedding. Anna Chlumsky, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Gigi Zumbado, Stephen Dorff, and Justin Hartley also star.

The official synopsis reads: “For badass secret agent Sam (Rebel Wilson), blending in has never been part of the mission — until she’s maid of honor at her best friend’s extravagant destination wedding. CBS is ordering two more series for the 2025-2026 broadcast season. “Dmv,” a comedy starring Harriet Dyer, and “Einstein,” a drama starring Matthew Gray Gubler, are moving forward at the network. Meanwhile, the broadcaster axed two of its one-season shows: “Poppa’s House” and “The Summit.”

These series order come in addition to “CIA,” a new series set in the “FBI” universe at the network, which was announced earlier on Tuesday.

Dyer (“Colin From Accounts”) will star in “Dmv” as Colette, a driving examiner with a huge heart who is adept at calming nervous drivers. But her intelligence and self-awareness also hides a woman who is neurotic, bad with boundaries and who is a constant people pleaser. CBS has given series orders to both Tim Meadows’ single-cam comedy “Dmv” and Matthew Gray Gubler’s drama “Einstein.”

Both projects had been previously announced as pilots in development at the network.

In workplace comedy “Dmv,” Meadows plays a former high school English teacher turned examiner, who wants nothing more than to get through the driving tests as quickly as possible. He stars alongside Harriett Dyer, who plays Colette, a big-hearted examiner who is “adorably neurotic” and “bad with boundaries,” but genuinely roots for the driving students to pass.

Molly Kearney is Barbara, the oversharing Dmv boss who believes she is part of the gang, and Alex Tarrant is the dreamy surfer boy Noa. Tony Cavalero plays Vic, a “lovable scumbag” who was previously a security guard and head cook. Gigi Zumbado is Ceci, the “scrappy, tough and sassy drivers license photo taker.”

CBS has canceled “Poppa’s House” and “The Summit” after one season each.

Neither the sitcom from Damon Wayans Sr. and Damon Wayans Jr., nor the mountainous competition series will return on the network’s schedule next season.

“Poppa’s House” was created by Wayans Sr. and Kevin Hench, and starred the real-life father-son duo as father and son, alongside Essence Atkins and Tetona Jackson. Geoffrey Owens, Caleb Johnson, River Blossom and Wendy Raquel Robinson had recurring roles.

“The Summit” was a spinoff of an Australian series of the same name. Hosted by Manu Bennett, the series followed a group of contestants tasked with climbing a treacherous mountain, all while surmounting mental and social challenges.

The news of these cancellations comes as CBS has ordered two new projects to series: “Dmv,” a single-camera comedy starring Harriett Dyer, Tim Meadows, Molly Kearney and Alex Tarrant; and “Einstein,” a drama led by Matthew Gray Gubler and Rosa Salazar.

CBS has made a decision on its standalone pilots, handing series orders to comedy Dmv, starring Colin From Accounts‘ Harriet Dyer, from creator Dana Klein and Kapital Enteratnment; and drama Einstein, headlined by Criminal Minds alum Matthew Gray Gubler, from the Monk duo of Andy Breckman and Randy Zisk.

Dmv‘s order resolved a four-way tie for the single remaining comedy slot on CBS’ 2025-26 schedule. As Deadline reported last month, three pilots, the single-camera Dmv, the multi-camera Zarna, The Neighborhood planted spinoff as well as bubble freshman series Poppa’s House, were all vying for that one spot. It came down to Dmv, Zarna and Poppa’s House. As Deadline reported yesterday, the off-cycle Dmv, which tested and screened well, had a slight edge and will now join CBS’ lone single-camera comedy series, Ghosts, which was recently renewed for two seasons. The other pilots are not moving forward while Poppa’s House has been canceled.

CBS is adding to its roster of new series for the 2025-26 season, giving series orders to two pilots: a drama titled Einstein and a comedy called Dmv.

Einstein, from Monk creator Andy Breckman, stars Criminal Minds alum Matthew Gray Gubler as the title character, alongside Rosa Salazar. Dmv, a single-camera comedy set at a motor vehicle office, is led by Harriet Dyer and Tim Meadows. Both shows come from CBS Studios.

The two series orders are the first from CBS’ crop of development projects this season. They join fellow newcomers Sheriff Country, which the network ordered last year, and straight-to-series pickups Boston Blue and CIA. All three of the previous orders are offshoots of current or recently ended CBS shows — Fire Country, Blue Bloods and FBI, respectively.

Along with the series orders, CBS also announced that it has canceled its comedy Poppa’s House and competition show The Summit, both after a single season.

It’s official: Matthew Gray Gubler is returning to CBS.

The Eye network has handed a series order to Einstein, a new procedural headlined by the Criminal Minds vet. Additionally, CBS has greenlit the single-camera comedy Dmv, which stars Colin From Accounts standout Harriet Dyer.

Per What's on Netflix, Heart Eyes will make its streaming debut on May 8, and remain on Netflix for 18 months before it heads to Hulu. The move is part of Sony Pictures' first-window deal with the streaming service that has all of their theatrical titles in 2025 debut on there a few months after their initial release. Heart Eyes is just one of many to come, as others such as Karate Kid: Legends and Until Dawn will also debut on Netflix later this year.

After scaring up $30 million at the box office worldwide, the Valentine’s Day-themed slasher movie Heart Eyes is now available on Digital at home courtesy of Sony.

Josh Ruben (Werewolves Within, Scare Me) directed Heart Eyes, with Mason Gooding (Scream) and Olivia Holt (“Cruel Summer”) starring in the romantic slasher.
