Making movies is challenging, and making a splash at the box office is even harder. On paper, a John Wick spin-off starring Ana de Armas as a lethal soldier of the Ruska Roma sounds like a guaranteed money-maker. However, audiences are fickle, and going to the cinema is expensive, even if you’re sneaking snacks from the Bulk Barn and requesting sparkling water instead of Coca-Cola. Despite positive reviews and solid word of mouth, Armas’s Ballerina stumbled at the box office. Thankfully, Ballerina is already Jetéing to the top of the PVOD charts.
According to FlixPatrol, Ballerina finished second on iTunes in the United States on July 1 and July 2. The action-packed film finished third on Vudu and seventh on Amazon on July 2.
Produced on a reported $90 million budget, Ballerina danced to a $110 million take at the worldwide box office. These aren’t the numbers you’d expect from a John Wick spin-off,...

After revisiting different iterations of his black symbiote suit for Funko and Target's Marvel Selects line, Spider-Man is swinging back to his roots with his latest collectible. The iconic wall-crawler is getting a new Pop! comic cover figure that travels back in time to the days when Stan Lee and Steve Ditko were at the helm of Peter Parker's adventures as writer and illustrator, respectively. He won't be alone either, as the artwork features a few cameos from a Marvel ally and one of his greatest villains from the page and screen. Collider is excited to offer an exclusive preview of the figure and its background pulled from The Amazing Spider-Man #19 from 1964.
There's plenty of action to this Pop!, as it's depicted holding on tightly to his web and preparing to swing right out of the box. It's a perfect recreation of the classic cover, which sees the hero...

"Have you seen it out there? The city's a mess... the people could use a hero." Yes they could. How about a noir detective hero? Amazon MGM Studios has revealed a first look teaser trailer with 30 seconds of footage from the Spider-Noir series, a spin-off story inspired by the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse movies. Spider-Noir brings the Spider-Man Noir character into live-action, bringing Nicolas Cage (who also voiced the character in the animated movies) to the screen playing this version of Peter Parker. An aging and down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York is forced to grapple with his past life as the city's one & only superhero. Executive producer Chris Miller also tweeted: "It's true. Spider-Noir is coming to Amazon Prime in 2026. With the first Ironheart teaser expected to be released tomorrow and Superman's trailer confirmed for Wednesday, it's shaping up to be a busy week for news.
As for Monday, we're kicking things off with an official look at Nicolas Cage's Spider-Man in Amazon and MGM+'s Spider-Noir TV series.
The wall-crawling private investigator has already been spotted in set photos, but this spectacular black-and-white image is like seeing the comic books—and 2018's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse—come to life in live-action.
Cage can be seen striking an iconic Spider-Man pose and will clearly be able to shoot webs in the show. Whether Spider-Noir can right the ship for Sony after disappointments like Madame Web, Morbius, and Kraven the Hunter remains to be seen.

Korean star Don Lee’s next feature Pig Village — which reunites the action icon with the director behind two installments of the blockbuster franchise The Roundup — has unveiled its ensemble cast.
Pig Village marks a notable milestone for both Lee and the Korean film industry, as the project will be shot primarily in South Korea but told entirely in English. Producers revealed Thursday that the film’s key international cast is led by Lee and includes Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy, The Walking Dead), Colin Woodell (The Continental, Pulse), Lisette Olivera (National Treasure: Edge of History), Ali Ahn (The Diplomat, Agatha All Along) and Abraham Popoola (The Marvels, Atlas).

Kai Caster played Dirk Bennett on ten episodes of the Prime Video series The Baxters, showed up in a season 3 episode of Magnum P.I. and a season 8 episode of American Horror Story, and – after playing Young Kayce in a season 2 episode of Yellowstone – was cast to play the character Rowdy in five episodes of the fifth season. Now, Deadline reports that Caster has landed a guest role in Prime Video’s Marvel-inspired series Spider-Noir and has also secured a leading role in the horror comedy Halloween Store.

I’m really looking forward to Nicolas Cage’s Spider-Noir, and one actor on the series has teased that it could double down on the film noir aspect. While speaking with ComingSoon.net, Lukas Haas said Spider-Noir could be released in black-and-white. I’d be into that.
“We filmed it in — I think it may come out in both black and white and color, but when we filmed it, the monitors were all black and white, so you got this feeling and it looked very, very authentic,” Haas said. “To the point that I would actually go and look at the monitor and think I was looking at some older footage, but it was actually just a monitor of what was on the camera at the time. They did a beautiful job with the filters and all that stuff, making it look like genuine old 1930s, black and white film.

Amazon's upcoming Spider-Noir series has received a surprising update from actor Lukas Haas, who has suggested that viewers may find two different viewing experiences available to them when the series finally arrives on Prime Video. Living up to its name, Haas has suggested that, as well as being able to watch the unconventional superhero show starring Nicolas Cage in color, there is a chance that a “noir” black and white version will be released as well.
Compared to network television, streaming opens many options up when it comes to how shows are put into the world, including the ability to vary episode lengths, episode counts, and how many versions are released. Speaking to ComingSoon, Haas said of the upcoming Marvel-based series:
“It was just an incredible project. Everybody involved was amazing. Brendan Gleason, he plays my boss. Just getting to, to do that noir thing. It was very genuine film noir,...

Spider-Noir remains in production and, if the set photos we've seen are any indication, the web-slinger's first TV series will put a unique new spin on Spider-Man.
Screen icon Nicolas Cage plays Ben Reilly, a private eye who moonlights as a superhero. We've seen him swinging into action on set, suggesting the series will be very much in line with the comics, even though those featured Peter Parker under the mask. Why Spider-Noir is named after his clone hasn't been made clear.
Lukas Haas has landed a mystery role in the show and, during a recent interview with Coming Soon, suggested the series could be released in black and white as well as colour.

Longlegs star Nicolas Cage voiced the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man Noir in the animated feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and we’re going to have the chance to watch him play the character in live-action in the upcoming MGM+ and Prime Video series that’s going by the title Spider-Noir. That show is currently in production, and today, Deadline revealed that the recurring cast includes Amy Aquino (Bosch) and Andrew Robinson (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine)!
I’m especially excited to hear that Andrew Robinson is involved with this show, because he has been largely absent from our screens for way too long. The character actors has racked up over 100 credits over the course of a career that stretches back to 1969, with Dirty Harry, Mask, Cobra, Hellraiser, Shoot to Kill, Child’s Play 3, Trancers III, Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings, and The Puppet Masters being among the many movies you might have seen him in.

Nicolas Cage has some new co-stars. Two more actors have just joined the cast of Spider-Noir, the upcoming MGM+ and Prime Video live-action series based on the Marvel Comics superhero Spider-Man Noir.
According to Deadline, Amy Aquino (Bosch) and Andrew Robinson (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) have been added to the recurring cast of Spider-Noir. Outside Bosch, in which she starred as Lt. Grace Billets, Aquino is known for her recurring roles in Being Human, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Brothers & Sisters, and most recently appeared as Judge Thelma Hollub in Clint Eastwood's 2024 drama Juror #2. As for Robinson, he seems to have taken a step back from acting in the mid-2000s, although he voiced an alternate version of his Deep Space Nine character Elim Garak in an episode of the animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks last year.

It's business as usual in Los Angeles now the worst of the wildfires is over and Spider-Noir resumed shooting yesterday. Lead star Nicolas Cage, no stranger to comic book adaptations, has been spotted in costume as Ben Reilly, albeit in his P.I. gear rather than a super-suit.
The actor first played this version of Spidey in 2018's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and became an instant fan-favourite. The fact he's getting to reprise the role in live-action isn't something we ever expected, though this Spider-Man is Ben, not Peter Parker (we don't think that makes him a clone; it's more than likely a result of Sony not wanting to confuse audiences).
It's been a while since we got any updates about Spider-Noir but MGM and Amazon Prime appear to be moving full steam ahead with the streaming series.
While it was put into development before Sony Pictures pulled the plug on its villain-led Marvel Universe,...

The superhero landscape of Marvel is coming with a noir twist as Nicolas Cage plunges into New York in the 1930s. It will be the first time that Spider-Man Noir will be moving from animation to live-action. Cage, who has already voiced the character in Sony’s Spider-Verse series, is now going to introduce this version of the superhero in MGM+’s upcoming series.

The series is set to offer a superhero action genre mixed with the noir detective drama. As shooting has already begun last year, fans have caught the first look at Cage in costume, and one thing is clear: what’s on the way will not only be a memorable chapter in Cage’s career but also in Spider-Man’s on-screen adaptations.

Sony and Amazon/MGM's Spider-Noir series appears to be taking some major liberties with the source material, but given how obscure this Variant of the web-slinger is, does it really matter if "Ben Reilly" is beneath the mask instead of Peter Parker?
That's debatable; regardless, Sony appears to be ignoring the fact Ben is Peter's clone and we don't anticipate that being addressed in any way when Spider-Noir swings on to streaming next year.
Today, we have some new photos from the TV show's set (via Just Jared) showcasing Nicolas Cage's private eye. We've already seen that the series will feature a comic-accurate superhero costume and Cage unquestionably looks the part of "Ben" in these snaps.
Earlier this year, Cage opened up on what led to him reprising a role he first played in the animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

As the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand, adapting bigger and bolder storylines to live-action, Sony too is moving ahead with its Spider-Man Universe. There’s also a video that showcases a stunt sequence in which Spider-Noir is perched atop a vehicle while shooting webs. You’ll have to view that through the link. Given the nature of the scene, it’s not Cage in the costume but rather a stunt double.

Given that it's being developed by Sony, there's been some concern among fans that Amazon's Spider-Noir series starring Nicolas Cage might not see the title character actually suit up.
Peter Parker has already been replaced by Ben Reilly as Spider-Man Noir, but newly revealed photos and footage from the show's set confirm we're getting a comic-accurate take on the wall-crawling private detective.
The hero looks like he's stepped straight off the page with a design that's also pretty much identical to what we saw in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Based on how this scene is playing out, Ben will see a fair bit of action as he rides atop a car while shooting webs into the distance. He also has his trademark hat and goggles, though we should point out that it's a stuntman in the suit, not Cage.
Cage will be joined in the series by Lamorne Morris (as...

Hot on the heels of Max's series "The Penguin," another comic book character is getting his own TV show full of rain-soaked city streets and chiaroscuro lighting. After making his voice debut as Spider-Man Noir in the animated feature "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse," Nicolas Cage is making the leap to live-action in "Spider-Noir." The series is currently filming, and it's set to premiere on MGM+ and Prime Video some time next year. "22 Jump Street" co-writer Oren Uziel and "The Punisher" creator Steve Lightfoot are serving as showrunners.
The need to protect plot secrets has confined a lot of comic book shows to working in studios or in remote locations unlikely to be haunted by paparazzi. "Spider-Noir" however, has taken directly to the streets of Los Angeles (which are doubling as the streets of New York), which means we now have our first look at Nicolas Cage in Spider-Man Noir's trademark giant trenchcoat,...

That show is currently in production, and Cage has been spotted on set. Images of him can be seen in the Instagram embeds below – but before you scroll down, I’ll warn you that you shouldn’t expect to see Cage in the full Spider-Man Noir costume in these images. The spy pics only show him wearing a trenchcoat, with no sign of his mask.
Spider-Noir has Cage taking on the role of an aging and down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.

Prime Video's live-action Spider-Noir series officially began filming this week, and we got our first glimpse of star Nicolas Cage shooting a scene last night.
Now, Just Jared has shared some more set photos, giving us a much better look at Cage in his '30s attire while also confirming the show's main(?) villain.
As you'll see below, Cage is carrying a Daily Bugle newspaper prop in several photos, and the headline reads: "Silvermane Survives in Skivvies." Previous rumors have claimed that Silvio Manfredi, aka Silvermane, will be the primary antagonist. While that remains to be seen, he is clearly going to be a part of the show.
Hopefully, we'll get to see Cage suited-up as Spider-Man Noir soon (though the full costume really only adds a mask to the get-up he's wearing here). For now, have a look at the new set photos at the link below and let us know what you think.
