JoBlo gets Obliterated in Vegas with the creators of Netflix’s new show
Image
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, right? At least, that’s how it’s supposed to be, but I can’t help but spill the beans on a fantastic trip I recently took to Sin City for the launch of Netflix‘s new series, Obliterated. Premiering today on Netflix, this eight-episode series comes from the guys behind Cobra Kai, Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald, and is a gloriously profane and non-pc throwback to their Harold & Kumar days – albeit with a heavy dose of Jerry Bruckheimer-style action thrown in.

The show focuses on an elite team of Navy Seals, led by Nick Zano’s Chad McKnight, who, along with a CIA agent, Ava Winters (Shelley Henning) and her tech wiz, Maya (Kimi Rutledge), have just taken down a terrorist cell planning to blow up Las Vegas. To celebrate a well-done job, the team decides to do what...

Obliterated Interview: Marcus Young & Kevin Kent On Explosive Stunts And Spec Ops Authenticity
Image
Obliterated is an action-comedy series about an elite military team who must save Las Vegas from a real bomb after defusing a decoy. The show's creators combined their signature humor with expertly choreographed stunts to create a perfect blend of comedy and adrenaline. The military advisor ensured accuracy in weapons handling while allowing certain liberties for entertainment purposes, and actors collaborated to bring the best out of their characters.

Obliterated tells the story of an elite military team who, in the midst of partying to celebrate the defusing of a nuclear bomb, discover that their work has only just begun. The bomb in question was a decoy, and a very real device is somewhere in the city of Las Vegas. The team must change gears at the height of their debauchery and, sober or not, work together to save the city.

Obliterated was created by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and...

John Krasinski unbuckled, thrown off chopper for 'Jack Ryan 3' action sequence
Image
John Krasinski, who is known for playing Jim Halpert in “The Office”, will be seen performing a daredevil stunt in the upcoming third season of “Jack Ryan”. He was unbuckled and thrown off a helicopter in one of the action sequences.

About this, the actor said: “We were performing an air-water stunt where everyone on the helicopter that day was a Navy Seal. During the shoot, one of our buddies, Kevin Kent, said, ‘it would be a lot cooler if you did the stunt’. I said, ‘What would that look like?’ And he said, ‘It’d look like me unbuckling you and throwing you out of this helicopter’.”

He further recollected as he said: “And he did, right then and there. Whenever we can, whenever it feels safe (we do the stunts). I think you do get that little kid instinct of, ‘I can do that, we can try that!

Asked about the most intense scenes to shoot, Krasinski said, “The action sequences are the most intense to shoot, but not the hardest, because you always know that it’s for a good reason. I mean, you can always sense what it’s going to be. Everybody takes it very seriously. It’s well thought out.”

He continued, “They’re probably the longest things to shoot for those tiny little moments in the show. A whole lot of prep goes into it, a whole lot of many, many people’s hard work. And then you just hope you don’t get...

John Krasinski Did Jack Ryan Stunt For Real After Seal Goaded Him
Image
John Krasinski reveals he did a death-defying Jack Ryan helicopter stunt for real after a Navy Seal goaded him. The thriller, based on Tom Clancy's characters, will return to Prime Video this December after a three-year hiatus. Debuting in 2018, the series stars Krasinski in the titular role as budding CIA analyst Jack Ryan, who finds himself thrust into the action as a field agent. After uncovering a series of suspicious terrorist communications, Ryan must work to save the U.S. against a dangerous international threat. In the season 3 trailer, Ryan is seen falling into the ocean from a helicopter, just one of the many action sequences in store for the next season.

As it turns out, John Krasinski performed the helicopter stunt after being goaded by a Navy Seal, as he revealed on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert while promoting Jack Ryan season 3. According to Krasinski, the plan...
