Isaiah Mustafa
Murder at Yellowstone City Review: A Character-Driven Western Murder Mystery
Isaiah Mustafa
Nobody in the Montana Territory circa 1881 watches a former slave like Cicero (Isaiah Mustafa) walk into town without keen interest. That goes for friends and foes alike. Luckily for him, Yellowstone City is a progressive settlement in many ways. It has its fair share of racists and bigots to be sure, but you can’t help feeling heartened as far as seeing a saloon owned by a gay couple (Richard Dreyfuss’ Edgar and John Ales’ Mickey) who act as fathers to wayward souls like the young Dakota native working the stables (Tanaya Beatty’s Violet) or the Latina den mother of their brothel (Aimee Garcia’s Isabel). If anyone is willing to open their doors to Cicero, these are the folks. But they’re not the only ones drinking today.

Director Richard Gray and screenwriter Eric Belgau’s Murder at Yellowstone City takes pains to ensure everyone is at attention this Sunday.

Christopher Lloyd Joins Simon Pegg and Minnie Driver in Dark Comedy ‘Nandor Fodor and The Talking Mongoose’ (Exclusive)
Christopher Lloyd
American acting icon Christopher Lloyd is set to join Simon Pegg and Minnie Driver in the cast of a dark comedy called “Nandor Fodor and The Talking Mongoose,” TheWrap can reveal exclusively.

“Nandor” comes from writer and director Adam Sigal (“Chariot”) and is filming now in Leeds in the United Kingdom, with Lloyd due to arrive on set later this week.

The film stars Pegg as Dr. Nandor Fodor, a real-life, famed Hungarian-American psychoanalyst, author, journalist and “parapsychologist” who was a leading authority on poltergeists, hauntings and other paranormal phenomena and in the 1930s advanced the theory that such hauntings could be the result of past unresolved mental tensions. The film is based on a true story of Fodor’s pursuit of “Gef,” an allegedly talking mongoose that inhabited the home of a family on the Isle of Man and attracted many ghost hunters, as well as the British tabloids,...

Heath Ledger in The Order (2003)
Freaky Trailer for Supernatural Thriller 'Sin Eater' with Jessie Nerud
Heath Ledger in The Order (2003)
"Don't you see, child, we all have our sin!" Totally nuts, eh? Indican Pictures has released an official trailer for an indie horror thriller titled Sin Eater, from filmmaker Carmelo Chimera making his feature debut. This hasn't shown up anywhere else yet and is arriving directly to VOD in March. When a woman on the run from her past suffers a terrifying injury, she becomes stranded in a town with a dark secret. As the bizarre phenomena intensify and with no one to trust, she'll have to face her inner demons before a real one takes her soul. The film has a crazy twist where this girl wakes up with her jaw wired shut. Freaky. It stars Jessie Nerud as Christine, with Bill Moseley, Danny Bohnen, Scotty Bohnen, and Scott Moore. This looks like a cult thriller mashed up with religious horror, which is almost too scary. Check out the footage below.

Heather Graham, Thomas Jane, Colson Baker, and Sam Worthington in The Last Son (2021)
Western 'The Last Son' Trailer with Sam Worthington & Thomas Jane
Heather Graham, Thomas Jane, Colson Baker, and Sam Worthington in The Last Son (2021)
"You'd be surprised what people can do..." Redbox has unveiled an official trailer for the indie film The Last Son, a western thriller from filmmaker Tim Sutton who is known for his low key indie films previously - Memphis, Dark Knight, Donnybrook, Funny Face. In this one, an outlaw attempts to end his evil family line. Sam Worthington stars as Isaac LeMay, a murderous outlaw cursed by a terrible prophecy, hunting down his offspring to prevent his own death before targeting his son. Shot entirely on location in Montana, "The Last Son truly portrays the brutality that was the West in the 19th century." The cast includes Thomas Jane, Colson Baker (aka "Machine Gun Kelly"), Heather Graham, Kim DeLonghi, Scotty Bohnen, Danny Bohnen, and James Landry Hébert. It actually looks a bit better than expected, more cinematic than Sutton's last features. A violent western with a grizzled Worthington ready to take on everyone alone.
