Every other day, it's nearly impossible to get me out of bed before 7 am, but the day the Academy Award nominations are announced, I'm like a kid on Christmas morning. So, on Jan. 23, 2025, I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter, away to my phone flew like a flash to what nominations had just come to pass.

I had already prepared myself that some movies that I personally would have nominated were not going to happen, since that would require members of the Academy to remember movies that came out before October and also see movies that maybe didn't have the budget to campaign and send screeners and would require them to sign in to...

Steven Spielberg's upcoming film is set to have a star-studded cast. Although little details are known about the legendary director's upcoming movie, its cast is shaping up as it has added a Challengers star.

Per Variety, Josh O'Connor has been cast in Steven Spielberg's new film. The Challengers actor will join Emily Blunt, Colin Firth, Colman Domingo, and Eve Hewson, who have been previously announced as part of the movie. The project doesn't have a title yet but it does have a release date May 15, 2026.

Based on the 1957 novel The Executioners, the source material has already had two more adaptations.

Spielberg will direct the film based on the script by frequent collaborator David Koepp, and it will be produced through his company Amblin Entertainment. Little information has come out about the film, whose plots are kept under wraps.

Luca Guadagnino is one of the more interesting directors of our time and his movies always attract attention. Best known for his Desire trilogy, which includes the critically acclaimed Call Me by Your Name, as well as the remake of Suspiria, Guadagnino is now tackling the sports drama genre with his newest movie, Challengers, set to be released in theaters on April 26, 2024, after a significant delay caused by the SAG-AFTRA strike of 2023.

The movie is starring Zendaya as Tashi Duncan. The young star will be joined by Josh O’Connor as Patrick, and Mike Faist as Art Donaldson, with Jake Jensen being cast in an undisclosed role. Guadagnino is directing the movie from a script written by Justin Kuritzkes.

Amazon Studios is distributing the movie in the US, while Warner Bros. will handle the film’s international distribution. The official synopsis for the movie describes it as follows:

Chris Evans opened up about why he was hesitant to take on the role of Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Evans admitted he feared that his career would be over after taking on the Marvel role. While filming the 2011 movie Captain America: The First Avenger, which was the fifth MCU film, the actor detailed how he felt. “This is it. I just signed my death warrant; my life’s over. I can’t believe I did this. This isn’t the career I wanted,” he said. “The biggest thing I was worried about was making sh*tty f**king movies. I don’t want to make sh*tty movies and be contractually obligated to make garbage.” Evans’ fears were eased when he realized the Captain America movies were good.
