Ramon Samson is a writer-director based in Sydney. He studied film at the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) for six years, where he completed a Diploma (2014), a Bachelor of Arts (2015-2017), and a Masters in Directing (2018-2019).
Through his time at AFTRS Ramon developed his skill set in directing. He directed a variety of short films of different genres and styles, including I Remember You (2015), Ethan (2016), and Wake (2017), all of which had success on the festival circuit.
During his Masters course Ramon directed A Film By, a genre-jumping short film that switches between different modes of storytelling - 1950s musical, 1940s noir, and Italian Neo-Realism - in an attempt to deconstruct and understand the different facets of anxiety.
Ramon continues to develop his directorial voice through development of different projects with collaborators he has maintained throughout his time at AFTRS.
