We've got not one, but two different horror movies in the works based on this year's Momo Challenge. The viral sensation swept across the internet earlier this year, in large part thanks to Kim Kardashian, who shared the now infamous image with her many millions of followers on Instagram, along with some misinformation regarding hidden Momo messages in YouTube videos that are watched by young children. Given the popularity of the creepy-faced figure, Orion Pictures is now set to adapt Momo for the big screen.
According to a new report, Orion Pictures has partnered with Roy Lee's Vertigo Entertainment production company, as well as producer Taka Ichise, for a new, currently untitled Momo Challenge movie. Lee previously produced It, which went on to become the highest-grossing horror movie of all time. Lee and Ichise partnered in the past on hits such as The Grudge and The Ring. Orion Pictures,...

Just a few months ago, parents were in a panic as rumors were flying around the internet that children’s videos on YouTube were being infiltrated by a distorted faced lady who looked like a live female version of the old Scream movie mask, who was graphically instructing children on how to harm and even kill themselves. Police looked into the claims and ended up declaring the whole thing a hoax, but there were of course copycats and videos made of the claims that were really scary and upsetting to anyone that watched them.
So while all that is fresh in people’s minds, why not make a horror movie about the character to capitalize on the whole thing? Cue the movie already in development, Getaway. Here’s the synopsis for the film from Deadline:
“The flick follows a group of unsuspecting teenagers who, in their last summer before college,...

John Wick actor Lance Reddick has come aboard Faith Based, a satirical take on the Christian film industry from Lone Suspect. Vincent Masciale is directing the comedy, which is also being produced by Giles Daoust of Title Media, Tanner Thomason, and Tim Kerigan. Luke Barnett wrote the script about two idiot friends (played by Funny or Die regulars Barnett and Thomason) who come to the realization that all “faith based” films make buckets of cash, they set out on a mission to make one of their own. Reddick will play Barnett’s disapproving, adoptive father and pastor of Elevate, a hipster church in North Hollywood. He’ll appear in the next John Wick installment, out this Friday, and currently stars in the Amazon Prime series Bosch. Catherine Dumonceaux and Matthew Emerson serve as executive producers on Faith Based. Reddick is repped by Paradigm, Grandview, and attorney James Hornstein.
