One mother’s love knows no bounds in Nobody Dumps My Daughter. TV Insider has the exclusive first look at the all-new Lifetime movie (premiering October 12) from their Ripped From the Headlines fall slate. Mary (Ana Ortiz) is over the moon when her daughter Theresa (Jasmine Vega) falls in love with Jimmy. Their relationship gets hot and heavy very fast. Mary’s fortune teller, Anna (Sheila E.), claims that Jimmy will be a part of Theresa’s life “forever.” However, Mary’s attitude takes a dark turn when Jimmy suddenly breaks up with Theresa, and she learns that Jimmy took her daughter’s virginity. Mary attempts to reunite Jimmy and Theresa, going so far as to bribe him to get back together with her daughter. “He defiled you. He took your innocence,” an angry Mary tells her daughter. When her tactics fail, Mary enlists the services of a hitman to murder Jimmy.

Lifetime Sets Fall Movie Slate Featuring Heather Locklear, Ana Ortiz, Karrueche Tran & More

Exclusive: Lifetime has set six new original films to premiere this fall as part of its “Ripped from the Headlines” movie slate starring Heather Locklear, Ana Ortiz, Lyndsy Fonseca, Jackie Cruz, Sheila E. and Karrueche Tran. The new movies will air on Saturdays at 8 p.m./7 c.

These films join the previously announced movies, Buried Alive and Survived (Sept 21) starring Eva Marcille, and He Slid into Her DMs (Sept 28) with Courtney Thorne Smith.

TikTok looks to counter criticism by showing how it ‘Sparks Good’

If you believe the rhetoric coming out of Washington, TikTok is a security risk and a dangerous source of Chinese disinformation campaigns. To counter those claims, the app is painting itself as a benevolent force. It has launched a documentary web series called TikTok Sparks Good, which reveals its positive impact through 60-second vignettes.

Each episode of TikTok Sparks Good is based around a specific creator. The first two installments center on small business owners who have used TikTok to advance their careers. Jessie Whittington of Country Lather has used the app to launch an affordable soap line in her rural community, while Spencer Russell of Toddlers Can Read has expanded his childhood literacy initiative thanks to the visibility he receives on TikTok.
