As filming for the fifth and final season of the Netflix hit has officially begun, things feel different on set without Rudy Pankow, as revealed by one of the stars.

Speaking with Extra TV recently to promote her new movie I Know What You Did Last Summer, Madelyn Cline, who plays Sarah Cameron on Obx, talked about how being on set this time is "really strange" because they "shot four seasons with him." And now he's not a part of this final leg of the Pogue journey. She continued on to say that "there's a part of the dynamic that isn't there anymore."

Outer Banks Season 4, Part 2 is out at last, which is its most swashbuckling season ever. It revolves around the Pogues heading to Morocco to find the Blue Crown that Blackbeard once searched for. However, it's filled with immense tragedy as it deals the heroes their biggest loss yet.

A mission that took the Pogues all the way to Morocco ended tragically as the crew lost not only the Blue Crown but also a member of their chosen family.

The penultimate season of “Outer Banks” concluded with Kiara (Madison Bailey) and the crew cradling JJ (Rudy Pankow) as he took his last breaths after his birth father stabbed him in the stomach.

Though JJ’s loss came as a shock to viewers, the character had a complete arc in Season 4. His world turned upside down when he realized he was born a Kook and his father was not who he said he was. The popular Netflix YA series may have one more season left before its series finale arrives, but that hasn't stopped Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke from teasing out their hopes and dreams for future stories featuring the Pogues and Kooks.

In exclusive reporting from Deadline, the trio of creators mentioned their desire to tell "fother stories in this universe down the line," in a move that feels inevitable and sensible both for the streamer and the series' creators.

Moreover, John B and others had no clue where to look for the blue crown. At the end of Part 2, we saw that Dalia and her team had been able to find the scroll that was hidden in the catacomb. Exclusive: Netflix’s hit action-adventure YA series Outer Banks is set to end with its upcoming fifth season. But that may not be the end of the Pogues.

“We are excited for Season 5, and we’re excited for other stories in this universe down the line,” series’ co-creators/executive producers co-creators and executive producers Jonas Pate, Josh Pate and Shannon Burke said during an interview with Deadline tied for the release of Season 4 Part 2.

They would not elaborate but indicated that ideas for potential spinoff series and other Obx universe offshoots are being explored. Gosh there's so many moments where Groff could have been killed, but this horrible man has nine lives or something. The first is when he got back into the custody of Dalia and her crew.
