    • Tom Collinson is an award-winning Writer/Director from the North East. He has 25 years experience in television, producing and directing over 50 hours of programming. In 2024 his feature was optioned by AX1 Films and in July was awarded REACH funding from North East Screen. He writes comedy and wrote sketches for Tracey Ullman Breaks the News for BBC1 and wrote and directed two series of Radio 4 sitcom, Self Storage, starring Reece Shearsmith and Mark Heap; "A Beckettian examination of the parameters of solitude full of wry laughs" The Times. In 2023 he wrote Murder at Hotel Galactic (co-written with Izzy Mant and Liam Hourican) and directed the rehearsed reading at Soho Theatre Main house starring Paul Whitehouse, Kevin Eldon. Susannah Fielding, Jo Martin, Kevin Bishop, Ali Hadji-Heshmati, Colin Macfarlane and Jenny Bede. He wrote and directed TV comedy pilot Outside starring Mat Horne (Gavin and Stacey) and Radio 4 sketch show Countryfried starring Rufus Jones (Home, W1A). His plays include, Croissant, starring Mark Watson, performed at the Pleasance and The Arcola (****The List). Percy at The Southwark Playhouse ("Surprising, heart-breaking and cleverly witty" Scatter of Opinion) and In a Box which won the Off Cut Festival; panel award for Best Play, Panel award for Best Ensemble (Panel Chair Moira Buffini), and Overall Audience Award.
