THR reports that New Line Cinema is moving forward with Final Destination 7. The studio has tapped Lori Evans Taylor, co-writer of Final Destination: Bloodlines, to pen the script for the new sequel.

This isn’t exactly a huge surprise, as Bloodlines became the highest-grossing ($286 million) and best-reviewed installment of the entire franchise. Taylor co-wrote Bloodlines with Guy Busick from a story by Taylor, Busick, and Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts. Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein directed the movie.

Franchise producer Craig Perry will be back producing, alongside Shelia Hanahan Taylor, Jon Watts, Dianne McGunigle, and Toby Emmerich.

Final Destination Bloodlines co-director Zach Lipovsky has finally revealed the reason why they decided to scrap their initial plans to include Kimberly Corman in the latest installment of the hit supernatural horror franchise. Kimberly Corman was the main protagonist of 2003’s Final Destination 2, which featured one of the franchise’s most iconic death sequences, whose character was later portrayed by A.J. Cook.

During a recent interview with ScreenRant, Lipovsky confirmed that their first draft of the screenplay included a Corman cameo, which would have taken place in the same scene as William Bludworth’s appearance. However, they eventually removed Kimberly from the scene in order to give highlight to Tony Todd’s character. “It could definitely work in the future. One unexpected death in Final Destination Bloodlines has been explained by the directors. The horror sequel, which follows Death hunting down the descendants of the survivors of a disaster at a tower restaurant called Skyview, set up a potential death scene for Erik Campbell (Richard Harmon), only to reveal that he lived due to not being a blood relative of Skyview survivor Iris Campbell (Gabrielle Rose), because his mother had an affair. However, Erik is then given one of the bloodiest Final Destination Bloodlines deaths when a malfunctioning Mri machine gorily pulls a wheelchair through his torso.

Final Destination: Bloodlines has proven to be a massive success for Warner Bros., and has now become the highest-grossing movie in the franchise with a $187+ million global box office haul.

Highly positive reviews are sure to have helped, as are some incredibly inventive, shocking, and downright gruesome kills.

Though the opening Sky View premonition sequence is arguably the highlight of the movie, the "lawnmower death" that befalls poor Uncle Howard has to be a close second. The carnage is brilliantly orchestrated, with several fake-outs building towards Howard falling backwards into the oncoming blades of the lawnmower.

The studio has now shared a behind-the-scenes look at Howard's brutal demise, which relied heavily on practical VFX. We also have some BTS photos of the bloodied cast members.

Final Destination Bloodlines is the first sequel in the franchise since 2011, as the movie was delayed due to several reasons. Directed by Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky, the horror film seems to have revived the franchise and introduced it to a whole new generation of viewers. Long-time Final Destination producer Craig Perry has shared his least favorite movie from the horror franchise. He was also a producer on the coming-of-age comedy American Pie.

The revelation was made in an excerpt from Entertainment Weekly journalist Clark Collis' upcoming book titled, Screaming and Conjuring: The Resurrection and Unstoppable Rise of the Modern Horror Movie.He states that Perry admitted that 2009's The Final Destination was the worst one in the franchise. "I don't think the fourth one is good at all, actually it sucks," Perry said.

Horror legend Tony Todd sadly passed away last November after a long illness, and Final Destination: Bloodlines features the actor's final performance.

Todd makes a brief cameo as the returning Mr. Bludwurth when the beleaguered protagonists pay him a visit in an attempt to figure out how to get themselves off Death's hit list. After giving them a couple of not particularly appealing options, Bludwurth takes his leave, with some parting words for the doomed family members, and his fans.

But Final Destination Bloodlines is flipping the narrative in its debut; not only is the movie expected to overperform at the box office, it has delivered the best reviews in the franchise's quarter-century history.

Bloodlines holds a "certified fresh" 92% score on Rotten Tomatoes, in addition to a "verified hot" 90% audience score on the website. These impressive Rt scores were supplemented by a B+ CinemaScore grade, which is extraordinarily high for a horror movie of this kind. "Final Destination" is one of the most underrated horror franchises around, with kills so memorable they traumatize entire generations — and turn into great marketing stunts.

Part of the magic of this franchise is how it weaponizes mundane anxieties — fear of flying, roller coasters, and the general uneasy feeling that something bad is about to happen. The films are about the very relatable fear of death: the knowledge that it can happen at any moment, in any way. And that is also where the signature dark humor of "Final Destination" comes in, as it stares death right in the face and presents the audience with the most ridiculous Rube Goldberg-like kills.

The latest entry in the franchise, "Final Destination Bloodlines," may very well be its best. This is a film that ties the entire franchise together, that offers as many ludicrous and fun kills as it does a rather emotional story about family.

The "Final Destination" franchise has lain dormant for 14 years, waiting for the perfect moment to strike fear into a whole new generation. I admittedly had my reservations about "Bloodlines" simply because "Final Destination 5" is both the best entry and the thematic lynchpin of the entire series. Most horror franchises would kill to have an ending this tight, so the thought of resurrecting it for another go-around worried me initially.
