Tunl Hosts Inaugural Star-Studded Gala With Taraji P. Henson, Suni Lee and DJ Set By Mustard

Star athletes, rappers and trendsetters gathered at the inaugural Tunl Gala during New York Fashion Week on Thursday night at Tribeca’s Spring Studios, for an evening hosted by Roc Nation’s Lenny Santiago and basketball star Chloe Pavlech. Tunl — named after athletes’ pre-game “tunnel fits” — is a new media platform blending media and e-commerce, where sports and fashion intersect. The Hollywood Reporter served as media partner for the event, which was thrown in partnership with Spotify.

Representing the essence of Tunl’s brand, the venue transformed into a club-like lounge with a “tunnel walk” and guests were treated to fruity cocktails upon entering. Inside, there were previews of merch, Spotify-branded photo ops and a Zales + Prince collaborative installation, which included a stunning display of a lavender-colored tennis racket adorned with diamonds. Denzel Curry has announced a guest-heavy new album titled King of the Mischievous South Vol. 2, dropping July 19th via Loma Vista Recordings/Concord. As a preview, he’s unleashed a new banger featuring TiaCorine and A$AP Ferg titled “Hot One.” Stream it below.

A sequel to his 2012 mixtape King of the Mischievous South Vol. 1 Underground Tape 1996, the project pays tribute to Curry’s musical heritage in the South, ranging from Memphis to Houston to his own South Florida. Ben Platt, Tracee Ellis Ross, Daniel Dae Kim, Lola Kirke, Soko, Jermaine Fowler, Ayo Edebiri and Eric Lange have joined B.J. Novak’s new series, now titled “The Premise.”

Premiering on Sept. 16 on FX on Hulu, the half-hour anthology comes from executive producers Novak and Josh Lesher. The first installment’s five episodes — titled “Social Justice Sex Tape,” “Moment of Silence,” “The Ballad of Jesse Wheeler,” “The Commenter” and “Butt Plug” — cover police brutality, sex, gun violence, social media and more.

“Power” is entering its final season, but you would never know if you walked by Madison Square Garden in Manhattan on Tuesday night.

Starz pulled out all the stops for its ratings powerhouse “Power,” throwing a massive premiere event, complete with a full-length concert at Madison Square Garden from Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and a plethora of his famous friends.
