‘Passions’ Alum James Hyde Opens Up About Joining ‘The Young and the Restless’

James Hyde kept the peace in Harmony as lawman Sam Bennett on the supernatural soap opera Passions for nearly a decade. Now, he’s been tapped to play Jeremy Stark, a mystery man from Diane Jenkins’s (Susan Walters) past on The Young and the Restless. Hyde is set to make his Y&r debut on Friday, October 21 but it’ll be a quick visit – for now. Watch for Hyde to return to the show in the near future. And on Thursday, October 20, he’s going to pop up on Station 19 in an episode titled “Dancing With Our Hands Tied.” Read on for the scoop as he tells us about both roles! Ahead of Father's Day, Milo Ventimiglia and Stephen Colbert teamed up to honor the finest fathers on television who often get "overlooked."

"Father's Day is this weekend, but every year one subset of fathers is desperately overlooked," Ventimiglia explains jokingly in a video shared by The Late Show on Friday.

"We're talking about hot TV dads," Colbert chimes in.

"People like me, who play dads on TV and are hot," the This Is Us star quips before the late-night host quickly adds himself into the mix, saying, "It's not easy for us."

SXSW 2015: Trouble Abounds In Baby Trailer & Poster
Samuel Aaron Bennett's narrative short debut Baby, starring Renée Felice Smith (NCIS:Los Angeles), has its world premiere this weekend at SXSW. Today we've got a trailer and that nifty poster art for the acerbic and existential comedy. As trailers for short films go, this is a good lesson in keeping it tight and clever. Naomi's got a problem. The vodka in the hotel mini­bar may not be the answer, but it helps her escape a reality she won't face, at least for a little while....

SXSW ’15: Short film and Midnight Movie Lineup announced
Following the recent announcement of their full film lineup that includes Trainwreck, Get Hard, and Spy, South by Southwest has revealed their lineup of Midnight movies and short films to screen during the festival. Chief among them is the Sundance 2015 hit Turbo Kid (read our review here) and the Sundance ’15 winner of the Short Film Prize World of Tomorrow. SXSW runs from March 13-21.
