Mi Emirates’ Waseem played a whirlwind knock of 71 runs, from 39 balls, against Sharjah Warriors on Saturday, while Gulf Giants’ Sharma rattled the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders’ top-order with figures of 3 wickets for 9 runs on Sunday, both performances earned both the ‘Player of the Match’ award for their respective matches.
Sharma, who dismissed Colin Ingram, Brandon King and Connor Esterhuizen, was also on a hat-trick at one of point in the game. “This is a dream debut for me. St. Lucia, Sep 11 (Ians) The Jamaica Tallawahs secured their third victory of the 2022 Hero Caribbean Premier League (Cpl) season with a win over Trinbago Knight Riders by 34 runs.
The Trinbago Knight Riders won the toss and chose to field. Then their bowler Ravi Rampaul made early inroads by removing both Jamaica openers, Brandon King and Kennar Lewis. However, Tallawahs captain Rovman Powell led by example, hitting ten boundaries in his innings of 67 to take his side to 153/7 after 20 overs.
Powell combined with Raymon Reifer in a 90-run partnership stand to help their side. Sunil Narine bowled exceptionally well and was rewarded with the wickets of both Powell and Fabian Allen to restrict scoring in the final overs, with the Tallawahs setting a target of 154 to win.
Trinbago Knight Riders in turn lost the wickets of Sunil Narine and Tion Webster early on, and largely due to superb bowling spells from Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim.

Saint Lucia, Sep 8 (Ians) Saint Lucia Kings grabbed a nail-biting victory against Jamaica Tallawahs in front of their home crowd. That helped them get their 2022 Hero Caribbean Premier League (Cpl) campaign up and running.
The Kings won the toss and opted to field first and their bowlers obliged with a disciplined performance with the ball and the fielding was excellent. Wickets fell at regular intervals to ensure the Tallawahs were restricted to 163 for 8.
In reply, the Tallawahs played the Kings at their own game by taking regular wickets. Mohammed Amir’s early double-wicket over rocked the Kings but Johnson Charles’ excellent half-century kept the home side, St Lucia, in the game. When David Wiese came to the crease he marshalled the chase superbly to get the Kings their first win of the tournament.
