The streaming service recently announced that season 2 of the show will be split into two batches. The first part will start streaming on August 6th. The second half will come along on September 3rd, another Wednesday. The news of the early renewal, while surprising, doesn't come as a total shock, given the show's immense popularity on the streaming platform. Wednesday Season 1 stands proud as the most-watched season of a Netflix show, making it the most popular Netflix original series of all time. The show has amassed 252.1 million views so far, and this number is expected to increase when Season 2 debuts its first part on August 6.

The Hollywood Reporter also posed the question of the show's longevity, but the executive producer and actor did not have a definite answer.
