Rumpelstiltskin trailer: fairy tale horror film gets a VOD release in April
Mark Jones
Back in 1995, Leprechaun creator Mark Jones brought the world a horrific take on the classic fairy tale character Rumpelstiltskin. Thirty years later, a different filmmaker has made their own Rumpelstiltskin horror movie – and you can watch the trailer for the film in the embed above! This Rumpelstiltskin will be premiering at FrightFest Glasgow this weekend, heading for a VOD release in the United States on April 8th.

Miracle Media told our friends at Bloody Disgusting, “The film breathes new life into the age-old children’s story, with eye-popping, gnarly special effects and a potty mouthed female protagonist who isn’t your typical damsel in distress. With bawdy humour and devilishly delightful visuals, this new incarnation certainly packs a punch and is sure to permeate your dreams with nightmare fuel.“

Andy Edwards, whose previous credits include Zombie Spring Breakers and Midnight Peepshow, wrote and directed the film, which stars Hannah Baxter-Eve...

HorRHIFFic 2025: ‘A Final Exorcism’ Review
Image
Stars: Suki Jones, Keeley-Jo Jupp, Cy Henty, Simon Berry, Ayvianna Snow, Charlie Bentley, Patrick Olliver, Ella Palmer | Written and Directed by Sam Mason-Bell

Elderly Anne Lewis, believing herself possessed, requests an exorcism, with her two children by her side. On the third night of the ritual, Father Stone, the priest performing the rites, begins to doubt the family’s intentions. Is Anne truly possessed, or are her children deceiving him?

There’s very little you can do when it comes to pushing the proverbial filmic envelope with exorcism movies. Everything that can be done seemingly has been done. So what to do if you do want to make another entry into the sometimes-maligned genre?

Well in the case of A Final Exorcism you know that people have seen every trope, every cliche and know every stereotype but you lean into that, jumping straight into the titular exorcism, adding in a...

HorRHIFFic 2025: ‘Video Shop Tales of Terror 2: Lust & Revenge’ Review
Image
Stars: Amber Doig-Thorne, Laurence R. Harvey, Dani Thompson, Ayvianna Snow, Simon Bamford, David Gelmini, Charlie Bond, Annabella Rich, Rami Hilmi, Sarah Rorbach, James Hamer-Morton | Directed by Angie Darling Baby, Alexander Churchyard, Paul Doherty, Andrew Elias, Bazz Hancher, Jason Impey, Debbie Lant, Tony Mardon, Hannah Paterson, Richard Rowntree, James Saxon, Teddy Saxon

As a fan of the first entry into this now-turned franchise, I was eager to finally get the chance to see the sequel, Video Shop Tales of Terror 2: Lust & Revenge. Like the first film, this second entry into the series promised a return to the nostalgic charm of retro VHS horror – delivering both scores and laughs, just like the first film, and it certainly delivered on both front.

The film comprises multiple segments, each offering a unique blend of terror and dark humour. Video Shop Tales of Terror 2: Lust & Revenge opens with a trailer for “The Beast...

Image
Ayvianna Snow, an actor hailed as the “British Queen of Horror”, is making waves with two thrilling new films set to send shivers down the spines of horror fans this spring.

A young woman makes a deal she comes to regret with a mysterious creature and must now save her first-born child from his evil clutches. Ayvianna plays the seductive yet deadly role of a Succubus, luring unsuspecting men to their fiery fate.

Director Andy Edwards said, “This is the second time I’ve worked with Ayvianna on a film, and as soon as I’d written the character, I knew she’d be perfect for it.”

‘St. Patrick’s Day Massacre’ Review

Stars: Marta Svetek, Ayvianna Snow, Charlie Bond, Ciaron Davies, Annabella Rich, Ben Manning, Ray Whelan, Jasmine Sumner | Written and Directed by Steve Lawson

On a trip to Dublin to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, four friends agree to spend the night in an abandoned tavern, where they are stalked by an undead killer in search of revenge for a tragedy that occurred centuries before

In the rich vein of holiday-themed slashers, dating back to the original Halloween, through to more modern fare, as bloodily illustrated by Eli Roth in, Thanksgiving (2023), we have a new entry in killer days, with, St Patrick’s Day Massacre, directed by Steve Lawson ( ).

A rich tale, with compelling characters and a real reflection of modern-day Ireland…this is not. Being of Irish descent and a huge fan of the stalk and slash format, I can stomach, tolerate and happily consume many a substandard Friday the 13th rip-off.

Burnt Flowers, the new film from writer/director Michael Fausti, begins with a series of scenes swiftly moving back and forth between London’s Rose Bar in 1968, Islington in 1983 and the Islington Police Station in 1992.

The last location is where Detective Franc Alban has a visitor, Alice Kyteller. She’s there to report a missing person, her husband Austin whom she last saw eight years ago in a brothel. Why has she waited so long to report him missing? “I thought he might come back”. She can’t offer any information and hasn’t so much as asked his friends about him, but she is sure that she and Detective Alban have met before.

If all of this sounds strange, you haven’t seen anything yet. The director...

Michael Fausti
Exclusive Interview: Ayvianna Snow (Burnt Flowers)
Michael Fausti
Congratulations on your role in Michael Fausti’s “Burnt Flowers.” Could you please delve into the details of your character and share what attracted you to this project?

Alice is such an interesting character as she seems to exist almost outside of space and time; we see her first in the 1960s, then she reappears in the ’90s, and she hasn’t aged! You are never quite sure what her allegiance is. Michael didn’t want to give too much away during filming, he wanted me to find my own interpretation of the character. I came up with various theories while we were filming; that Alice was a ghost; that she was a projection of Franc’s id.

At one point, I became convinced that Alice was a figment of Franc’s imagination as we only ever see Alice when Franc is also in the room; but then we shot...

Ayvianna Snow Welcomes 2024 With Pivotal Role In Michael Fausti’s Burnt Flowers
"Give Them Wings" premiere Leicester Square, London 2022
UK indie horror icon Ayvianna Snow returns to the screen with three new films for the first quarter 2024.

Cult director Michael Fausti’s much anticipated second feature film, Burnt Flowers (premieres January 2024), sees Ayvianna Snow join fellow horror luminaries Dani Thompson and Laurence R. Harvey in this haunting and surreal Horror-Noir from one of the UK’s most original horror directors.

Burnt Flowers focuses upon a mysterious femme fatale, Alice Kyteller (Ayvianna Snow), who approaches Detective Francis Alban (Amber Doig-Thorne) to search for her missing husband. The detective’s search leads her to a 1960s serial killer, who was never caught, a violent gangster and ultimately… herself.

The film stars Ayvianna Snow in a commanding central performance in a role that recalls the shape-shifting femme fatales of classic film noir. Snow’s portrayal of Alice Kyteller leads the audience into the dark past of the 1960s criminal underworld and an obsessive,...

Ayvianna Snow Stars In Raft Of New Films: How To Kill Monsters, Punch & Wrath Of Dracula
Image
Multi-talented actor & horror queen Ayvianna Snow returns with a raft of hotly anticipated new films, including How To Kill Monsters, Punch & Wrath of Dracula.

Ayvianna stars as Velma in the award-winning How to Kill Monsters, a film described as a love letter to the 80s and 90s horror movies the Director Stewart Sparke (Book of Monsters) grew up watching. The movie delivers thrills, kills and laughs in equal measure, as the sole survivor of a blood-drenched massacre teams up with a rag-tag bunch of rookie cops and lawbreakers to defend a police station from an invasion of Lovecraftian monsters from another dimension. With a menagerie of monsters realised entirely with practical effects and buckets of fake blood and guts thrown in for good measure, it scratches the itch of horror fans craving a throwback popcorn horror movie!

Dead Northern 2023: ‘How To Kill Monsters’ Review
Image
Stars: Lyndsey Craine, Johnny Vivash, Ayvianna Snow, Fenfen Huang, Juné Tiamatakorn, Michaela Longden, Arron Dennis, Daniel Thrace | Written by Paul Butler | Directed by Stewart Sparke

Well that’s it! We can officially close the book on my number one movie of 2023 because I finally got to see How to Kill Monsters and it’s an absolute belter.

Admittedly I was an adoring fan of Book of Monsters and I do think Lyndsey Craine is a bonafide yet hugely underrated superstar scream queen female lead. Then you throw in a smorgasbord of who’s who in the genre and a metric ton of gore, blood and guts. Safe to say I have been excited for this practical effects-driven low-budget Lovecraftian horror, sci-fi, comedy from director Stewart Sparke and his team at Dark Rift Horror.

How to Kill Monsters starts much the same as many other movies of its ilk… at the end…...

‘Wrath of Dracula’ Review
Image
Stars: Hannaj Bang Bendz, Dean Marshall, Sean Cronin, Mark Topping, Ayvianna Snow, Carl Wharton, Jasmine Sumner | Written and Directed by Steve Lawson

Amidst a busy filmography, Wrath of Dracula marks the third 2023 released feature for writer/director Steve Lawson – including the interesting Ripper’s Revenge. Inspired by Bram Stoker’s iconic 1897 novel, the story begins with Mina Harker (Hannaj Bang Bendz) receiving a letter from her husband, Jonathan Harker (Dean Marshall), about how he’s a prisoner at Castle Dracula. She travels to Transylvania intending to help her beloved, where she discovers a decimated village fearful of the mysterious Count Dracula (Sean Cronin), and the man determined to hunt the Count, Van Helsing (Mark Topping).

Considering how often vampires are brought to the screen, particularly when adapting Stoker’s novel, it becomes difficult to find a way to make these new takes stand apart within a crowded field. Despite putting the...

Stars: Dani Thompson, Laurence Harvey, Annabella Rich, Martin W Payne, Tony Mardon, Singh Lall, Rami Hilmi, Cy Henty, Andrea Sandell, Eve Oliver, Peter Tilley, Faith Elizabeth, Charlie Bond, Mike Butler, Allan Bryce | Directed by Alexander Churchyard, Mj Dixon, Sam Mason Bell, Tony Mardon, Max Davenport, Tom Lee Rutter, Michael Fausti, Andrew Elias, Geoff Harmer

An anthology of tales paying the ultimate homage to the 70/80s Video Nasty Tromaesque-era, from a team of some of the best writers/directors in the lower budget UK horror scene. A carefully curated selection of shorts all with varying degrees of depravity broken up by a wrap around story of the Video Dungeon, all delightfully introduced by Brit Scream Queen royalty Dani Thompson (putting in a number of roles throughout). Anthology movies do seem to be making somewhat of a comeback as of late and have a bit of a tendency of “trying too hard...

From the opening shots of the film you know you’re in for something special with Wyvern Hill, as director Jonathan Zaurin gives us snippets of… something. A live streamed, publicity stunt, filmed inside London’s most famous scare attraction takes a terrifying turn as the event awakes an evil spirit. Something relentless and seemingly unstoppable starts stalking the celebrity guests through the claustrophobic halls of this maze of terror.

The Tombs was, if memory serves, filmed a number of years ago in London at the scare attraction The London Tombs… Making this, despite being filmed some time ago, the latest film in a current spate of hunted attraction films to have hit DVD (and VOD) shelves, following on from the likes of Haunt, from the writers of The Quiet Place, and The Asylum’s Clown. Both films from...

‘Struck’ VOD Review
Stars: Christopher Foran, Connor Mayes, Daisy Montgomery, Olivia Rose, Will Sutcliffe, Ayvianna Snow | Written by Alexander Milo Bischof | Directed by Alexander Milo Bischof, Michael Couvaras

One of the great things about streaming sites like Amazon Prime and Netflix is that it gives a home to some of the lesser known flicks that maybe didn’t have the biggest budget or the greatest fanfare surrounding them. Online streaming has changed the game and made your more independent movies way more accessible and every now and then you can find an absolute gem.

Struck is one such movie. A movie that relies solely on the performance of its actors; a movie that has you thinking it could be one thing but shows you its actually something else; a story that takes an unflinching look into the social conscious…

Struck is the story of four teens whose spoilt rich kid lives are about to be blown wide open.
