Remain: Nicholas Sparks, M. Night Shyamalan supernatural romantic thriller adds Julie Hagerty and several more to the cast
Haley Joel Osment in The Sixth Sense (1999)
A while back, it was announced that The Sixth Sense director M. Night Shyamalan and The Notebook author Nicholas Sparks were teaming up for a supernatural romantic thriller called Remain. Shyamalan and Sparks created the original story together, with Shyamalan going off to write a screenplay based on the story while Sparks turned the idea into a novel. As was said at the time, “Both will be based on the same concept and set of characters but designed for their individual mediums.” The Sparks novel is scheduled to reach store shelves this year, on October 7th, and Amazon is already accepting pre-orders for the 352 page book at This Link. The Shyamalan film will reach theatres one year later, just in time for Halloween, as Warner Bros. Pictures has given it an October 23, 2026 release date. 8 Burning Questions Outlander Needs To Answer Before Its Season 8 Ending
Image
Before the long-running, beloved fantasy series comes to an end, Outlander must answer some pressing questions as season 7, part 2, and season 8 loom. Sam Heughan and Caitrona Balfe have played Jamie Fraser and Claire Randall Fraser in the Starz adaptation of Diana Gabaldon's book series since the premiere in 2014. After many years and instances of time travel since then, Claire and Jamie have found themselves in the thick of many revolutions and world events. As Outlander Season 8 draws closer, how the series will wrap up the story is of great importance.

It's been confirmed that Outlander season 8 will change the book's ending since Gabaldon likely won't be finished writing the last book in the series before season 8 premieres. As Outlander season 8 has already wrapped filming ahead of the premiere of season 7, part 2, the story's finale has been set in stone, and hopefully, the creative team has worked to wrap up every loose end.

This Outlander Season 7 Detail Makes Me Think William Will Learn The Truth About Jamie Soon
Image
A crucial Outlander season 7, part 1 detail makes me think William Ransom (Charles Vandervaart) will learn the truth about Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) very soon. With Outlander season 7, part 2 on the horizon and Outlander season 8 officially confirmed to be the historical epic's final outing the series' biggest threads will come to a head in the next batch of episodes. The seventh season of the series, which is based on Diana Gabaldon's Outlander books, introduced an adult William Ransom, Jamie's illegitimate son who was raised by Lord John Grey (David Berry).

Outlander is never short on dramatic twists and turns, which is one of the reasons I love the series. At this point, William's lineage is one of the more compelling storylines. Despite being the biological son of Jamie and Geneva Dunsany (Hannah James), William is the heir of Earl Ludovic Ransom. To recap, Geneva died shortly after giving birth to William.

Morgan Freeman Talks ‘The Gray House,’ Rips Into Black History Month: ‘My History Is American History’
Image
Morgan Freeman isn’t a fan of Black History Month.

“I detest it. The mere idea of it. You are going to give me the shortest month in a year? And you are going to celebrate ‘my’ history?! This whole idea makes my teeth itch. It’s not right,” he tells Variety.

“My history is American history. It’s the one thing in this world I am interested in, beyond making money, having a good time and getting enough sleep.”

Having exec produced Civil War series “The Gray House” alongside Lori McCreary through Revelations Entertainment, the past is very much on Freeman’s mind.

“If you don’t know your past, if you don’t remember it, you are bound to repeat it,” he says. During election year, this statement seems particularly poignant.

“Do you know this song? ‘To everything, there is a season.’ It really, really works in showbusiness.

Image
"We'll help ya - for half the bounty." "Just my luck..." Lionsgate has just debuted an official trailer for Two Sinners and a Mule, an action western they're dropping on VOD and in theaters later in April. I doubt anyone is going to go see this. Two ladies of pleasure, kicked out of town, run across a Bounty Hunter shot to hell. After he is nursed back to health, the ladies decide he needs their help to track down Gila Grimes - a ruthless, murdering bandit, for half of the bounty. It's made by a stunt coordinator making his first feature, which should tell you why this doesn't look that good at all. Two Sinners and a Mule stars Cam Gigandet, Chantelle Albers, Hannah James, and Buck Taylor. How do these movies keep getting made, I don't know. Outlander: New clip introduces the Hunters ahead of Season 7 debut
Image
Izzy Meikle-Small stars as Rachel Hunter in Season 7 of Outlander. Pic credit: ©Imagecollect.com/Steve Vas / Featureflash

Back in June, Starz announced two new cast members who will appear in Season 7 of Outlander.

Rachel and Denzell Hunter are siblings that have a Quaker background but wind up tending to William “Willie” Ransom (who will be portrayed by Charles Vandervaart in Season 7), according to the book series by Diana Gabaldon.

William is Jamie’s (Sam Heughan) illegitimate son to Geneva Dunsany (Hannah James), so, of course, this means the Hunters will come under the radar of Jamie and his wife, Claire (Caitriona Balfe) when Outlander returns.

This is all expected to play out as the threat of the American Revolutionary War looms.

As yet, only a few images of Rachel and Denzell have been seen after someone took photos of them onset so fans have not yet had a chance to really see the pair properly.

How Bridgerton Can Avoid Outlander’s Mistakes
Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton in Bridgerton (2020)
This article contains no spoilers for the Bridgerton TV series. References to book events have been scrubbed of identifying details, and all links are spoiler free.

For some, source material is sacred. But productions that prioritize faithfulness above all else lose so many opportunities, perhaps the most important of which is a chance to reach new and diverse audiences. Some fans of Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton series, which is set to be adapted into a Shonda Rhimes-produced Netflix adaptation later this month, may bristle at any suggested changes to the source material. However, as we already know from the series’ marketing and production announcements, Bridgerton is open to making major changes to the source material, including altering the racial and ethnic backgrounds of several main characters, adding new characters altogether, and likely incorporating elements from later books into the first season—all signs that this adaptation isn’t looking...

Supergirl Recap: Dreamer's Tragic Origin Story Takes a Hopeful Turn
David Harewood, Chyler Leigh, Jesse Rath, Azie Tesfai, Melissa Benoist, Katie McGrath, and Nicole Maines in Supergirl (2015)
Kara and Red Daughter’s worlds finally collided on Sunday’s Supergirl, though not at all how we anticipated. When a routine training session went south for the Girl of Steel’s doppelgänger, the military attempted to shock her back to life, inadvertently dispersing some transformative gamma rays throughout the planet. Traces of that energy infected a drug dealer’s pill supply, resulting in an enormous pair of angry, mutated frat boys.

The Deo was able to handle those two fairly easily, but it had a real problem on its hands when the Children of Liberty caught wind of the strength-enhancing street drugs.

Mercy Street Season Finale Preview – Catch Up Now
PBS has another hit on their hands, but there still aren’t nearly enough people watching Mercy Street. With the season finale hitting this Sunday, March 5th (8pm Et), I want to share a preview and give you a chance to catch up.

When the second season premiered, the official hashtag (#MercyStreetPBS) trended for almost the full hour, and peaked at #3 for nationwide ranking, which is a fantastic win for the show, but despite the solid rankings and ratings the show is enjoying, it isn’t enough. Not only is the show a wonderful look at a small slice of Civil War-era America, but it has a cast to envy, and they are certainly living up to expectations. Josh Radnor, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jack Falahee, Gary Cole, and many more deliver characters that are engaging beyond the standard of television productions.

You can catch up on the season at PBS.
