Stranger Things’ Gaten Matarazzo Accidentally Leaked One Big Twist, It Made Tom Holland Look Tame
Image
Ever since Stranger Things was released, theorizing has become a common way for fans to enjoy the series. Starting in the first season, there was an evident lack of answers for fans, having been thrust into a completely new world that was intriguing in many ways. Due to this, the cast of the series has been reacting to all kinds of fan theories, occasionally giving their own in the process.

While most of these didn’t come true, sometimes a person comes up with something so close to the original storyline that the world is left stunned. Interestingly enough, after the release of the first season of the series, Gaten Matarazzo revealed a theory that he found to be interesting, which turned into the biggest spoiler an actor could have given for their own work.

Stranger Things boss slams rumored season 5 episode runtimes after going viral
Image
It's been three-year long wait for Stranger Things to return to Netflix, but the series will soon make its comeback this fall with its highly anticipated fifth and final season. The new episodes begin rolling out on Thanksgiving and continue on Christmas Day and New Year's Eve. Netflix is rolling out the red carpet for a high-profile three-part holiday farewell event for its most beloved original series.

But because we have been waiting so long for the final season to make its arrival, fans have been sitting on the edge of their seats searching for any and all teases. Recently, the supposed runtimes for all nine episodes of Stranger Things season 5 apparently leaked online, but co-creator and co-showrunner Ross Duffer has spoken out to debunk the runtimes as incorrect.

‘Stranger Things 5’ Co-Creator and Showrunner Debunks Episode Length Rumors
Image
The first official teaser trailer for “Stranger Things 5” arrived last week, followed soon after by social media rumors that the final season would run a tidy but daunting 19 hours long.

Don’t worry; series co-creator and showrunner Ross Duffer has officially debunked the “leaked” episode runtimes as false.

While it was highly circulated on social media that each of the final eight episodes would be feature-length, with many clocking in at two and a half hours or more, Ross Duffer shot those claims down via Instagram stories, stating that the rumored episode durations are “not even close to accurate.”

Of course, “Stranger Things” has featured robust runtimes before. The fourth season’s finale ran two hours and nineteen minutes, which only added plausibility to the circulating rumors. Especially as Duffer previously teased, “So, needless to say, this is our biggest and most ambitious season yet. It’s like eight blockbuster movies.

Stranger Things Might Crown the Last Person You’d Suspect as the Big Bad
Image
Netflix’s Stranger Things already dropped the trailer for its forthcoming and final season on July 16, promising that Season 5 is going to be darker than ever. With the new season still months away, it has once again paved the path open for the deaths of fan-favorite characters or given new meaning to old scenes from the earlier seasons.

This left us thinking: what if the impending doom upon Hawkins is far greater than Vecna and the dark creatures from the Upside Down? What if the danger that they are so afraid of is amongst them and would turn up on them when they least expected it? This betrayal could potentially come from Eleven, as it has been teased before by One, persuading her to jump ship.

Stranger Things Season 5 Could Turn Eleven from Savior to Destroyer

It comes as no surprise that Eleven’s (Millie Bobby Brown) character has been doused in internal struggles.

‘Stranger Things’ Season 5 gets epic teaser trailer featuring Linda Hamilton: What to know about the final season
Image
"I need you to fight one last time."

Netflix released the first trailer for Stranger Things 5, the fifth and final season of its massively popular '80s-set sci-fi adventure series. The teaser previews an epic battle between the Hawkins crew and the sinister interdimensional being Vecna. The story that began way back in 2016 has been building to this.

The trailer features a lot of exciting imagery without giving away a lot of plot details. The trailer starts with Steve Harrington inside of a van with a satellite dish on top outside of a radio station, and throughout the trailer, he's cranking the volume up on whatever he's broadcasting up to 1000 decibels. Over the radio, we hear Dustin Henderson counting down to the start of a "burn" — creatures from the Upside Down hate fire — while everyone else waits anxiously. Something big is about to happen. The trailer also features our first...

We've been waiting for this for the past three years, but the first trailer for Stranger Things' fifth and final season is finally here. The sneak peek is suitably epic and is packed full of visual effects, and the promise of an epic conclusion to the series that first premiered on Netflix in 2016.

The story is still being kept largely under wraps, but we do get a first look at Terminator icon Linda Hamilton as the mysterious Dr. Kay and some huge set pieces.

Among them is a scene where the comatose Max is being dragged to safety by Lucas as invading Demogorgons close in. Vecna's terrifying new design can also be seen in the trailer's closing moments.

"Wherever this blood leads...I need you to fight one last time," Hopper tells Eleven before lobbing a few grenades. "Let's end this, kid."

Image
Stranger Things has successfully kept the audience glued to their screens for the better part of a decade. Apart from the intriguing storylines and the allure of supernatural monsters, Stranger Things on Netflix has given us several memorable characters.

From Will Byers to Hopper, the residents of Hawkins have repeatedly proved themselves to be determined and resilient in the face of overwhelming odds. On the other hand, characters like Dr. Brenner have redefined the definition of TV villains.

Throughout the past seasons of the Netflix show, several characters have exchanged narrative importance and the mantle of being the show’s center of attraction. It is quite difficult to rank the characters of Stranger Things, as most of them have equally well-written arcs. Nevertheless, here goes our list of all the Stranger Things characters ranked from best to worst.

Stranger Things star says they were "the last thing shot of the show" suggesting season 5 survival
Image
The long-awaited release date for the fifth and final season of Stranger Things is fast approaching, so we've started to get more interviews and select details about the filming process from the cast. Most recently, Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler, visited Q with Tom Power and revealed something pretty important: He was in the last scene filmed for the show.

At first glance, reading that quote might make you think that he just confirmed Mike will live until the very end, but that's not necessarily true. When Power pressed him further, asking if he was in "the last shot of the last scene," Wolfhard quickly backtracked a bit to say he was one of the last ones to wrap filming. "Well, no, it was that we just like wrapped, like I just was like one of the last people to film basically."

Either way, his confirmation that he filmed...

After Stranger Things aired its first season in 2016, the entire cast quickly became household names, especially Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), who went on to become one of Hollywood's biggest young actresses. The same goes for the show's adult stars, namely David Harbour, who has gone on to have a big role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Alexei Shostakov, aka Red Guardian.

Harbour has been a key figure in Stranger Things from the very beginning, and he'll continue his journey into the show's final season later this year. After all these years of working on such a massive, cornerstone series at Netflix, he is more than ready to move onto other projects. I Can’t Unsee How Stranger Things Season 4 Borrowed From Robert De Niro’s Dirt-Cheap Film Deal
Image
Netflix’s Stranger Things is perhaps one of the greatest sci-fi shows that features spine-chilling mysteries with supernatural creatures and the dark world of the Upside Down. Amidst the paranormal encounters and kids unraveling conspiracies, it manages to put in some hilarious references that make fans rewatch scenes for chuckles.

In the 4 seasons of the series, the show has pulled off some insanely amazing things, which have gone unnoticed. But what has not gone unnoticed is how they will openly make pop culture references to shows and films; some were direct, while some were just hiding in plain sight.

One such moment takes place in Season 4 Episode 7, where the TV show took a moment to pay tribute to Robert De Niro’s 1976 masterpiece, Taxi Driver, leaving fans laughing aloud.

Wolfhard’s endorsement doesn’t just come as a celebrity opinion, it mirrors what a large number of Netflix’s audience have been wanting to say since Mindhunter was iced.

Per Variety, Netflix's release date announcement video for Stranger Things Season 5 -- made at the annual Tudum event on May 31 in Los Angeles -- generated over 250 million impressions across all its social media channels within the first four days. According to the streaming giant, that is the most impressions for any announcement video in Netflix history over that time span.

The overwhemingly positive reaction to the Stranger Things Season 5 announcement is the latest of several records the show has accrued over the years. Season 4 was the most-watched English-language show in Netflix history, before it was surpassed by the Jenna Ortega-led horror series, Wednesday. Season 4 is currently the...

Esta se sitúa en el otoño de 1987. Hawkins está marcado por la apertura de las Grietas y nuestros héroes están unidos por un único objetivo: localizar y eliminar a Vecna. Pero ha desaparecido, se desconoce su paradero y sus planes. Stranger Things 5 gets insane three-part release date announcement
Image
The Upside Down is coming to Hawkins, Indiana, and soon so are we! Tonight, Netflix finally announced the release dates for the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, its flagship sci-fi horror series from creators Matt and Ross Duffer. Yes, release dates, plural. Stranger Things 5 will drop in not one, not two, but three batches of episodes. Volume I premieres November 26, Volume II will follow on Christmas Day, and The Finale premieres on New Year's Eve.

Stranger Things is arguably the most popular original show in Netflix's stable, so it's no surprise that they're going all out for the end of the series. But this is still an eye-brow raising announcement from the streamer. Volume I drops the day before Thanksgiving, so they're marking out all three end of the year holidays for Stranger Things. And on top of that, these episode drops all happen at 5:00 p.m.

Stranger Things Season 5 Teaser Reveals When The Final Episodes Hit Netflix
Image
Even for a show that introduced a whole alternate dimension during its first season, "Stranger Things" has gone to a lot of places. More importantly, its world — which started out as a charming collection of 1980s sci-fi movie homages — has continued to grow, to the point that "Stranger Things" season 4 was inspired by a "Star Wars" film as opposed to charming small town sci-fi adventures of the Amblin variety. However, a story can go only so far before it has to end, both because season 4 raised the show's stakes to an all-time high and because the actors playing the younger characters have started to age out of their roles on a "Dawson's Creek" level.

With "Stranger Things" season 5, the Duffer Brothers' spectacle of a show is entering its endgame. Its increasingly elaborate plot arcs and VFX have led to increasingly lengthy production cycles, with a three-year wait between seasons 3 and...

'Stranger Things' Season 5 Release Date Reveals When the Final Battle for Hawkins Begins
Image
The Upside Down is closing its gates — for good. Today at Tudum, Netflix announced that Stranger Things Season 5 will officially premiere on November 26. That's when Volume 1 of the show will officially debut, with Volume 2 set to debut on Christmas, and the grand series finale on New Year's Day, bringing an end to one of the most iconic series in the streaming era. It’s the conclusion of a pop culture phenomenon that began in 2016 and helped reshape what episodic storytelling could look like in the digital age. After nearly a decade of Demogorgons, secret labs, synth-heavy scores, and some truly appalling hair, the residents of Hawkins are taking their final bow — and for the young cast, it’s the end of an era they literally grew up in.

Created by Matt and Ross Duffer, Stranger Things became a defining series for Netflix, blending '80s nostalgia with supernatural thrills, sharp writing,...

'Stranger Things' Star Says Long-Awaited Final Season Doesn't "Feel Like It's the End"
Image
It’s been nearly 10 years since the first season of Stranger Things hit Netflix, and the show is finally due to begin its final descent later this year. Plenty of cast members have come and gone during the first four seasons of the hit sci-fi series, but the core group of children who gave the show its spark has remained. One of those stars is Finn Wolfhard, who first made a name for himself as Mike Wheeler in Stranger Things and has since gone on to star in projects for A24 and other big studios.

Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Noah Schnapp have been the glue that kept Stranger Things together since its premiere in 2016. Although they’ve all expanded their careers well beyond Hawkins, Indiana, they’ll always be known as “the kids from Stranger Things” in some capacity. Stranger Things is due to air...

Stranger Things Season 5: Netflix Releases New AI-Generated Promo Poster
Image
Netflix released an AI-generated photo of Eleven actress Millie Bobby Brown to promote Stranger Things Season 5 as part of a viral trend. Stranger Things fans have been eagerly awaiting the final season for almost three years, and it will finally premiere in 2025. As the Season 5 premiere nears, Netflix has still yet to kick marketing into gear with no official images or trailer released yet.

Brown is reprising her Netflix icon alongside 12 characters from Stranger Things Season 1 including Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder), Jim Hopper (David Harbour), Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas Sinclar (Caleb McLaughlin), Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), and many more.

In a since-deleted post on the Netflix South Africa Instagram page on May 4, Netflix released a '90s-inspired AI-generated photo of Eleven actress Milly Bobby Brown watching Stranger Things. The photo marks Netflix's dive into a recent viral trend for which it quickly earned massive backlash from fans.

Find out which of your favorite Stranger Things stars are attending Netflix's Tudum!
Image
We have very high hopes for Netflix's Tudum 2025 event coming at the end of the month! The celebrations are a great way to highlight some of the streamer's most popular shows with fans, and provide us with release dates, sneak peeks, and more deets to highly-anticipated seasons we're waiting for. One of those is Stranger Things season 5.

Unsurprisingly, the streamer has stayed very tight-lipped with details about the sci-fi horror's final season. Yes, we've gotten some updates regarding when to expect it - 2025 - and some fun behind-the-scenes footage of the cast and crew when filming wrapped. Though we really don't have any other details. I don't know if Netflix will share a teaser video or trailer. But, I would love it if we at least got a release date so we know when to expect the series to come back this year!

Steve Harrington’s Redemption Arc in ‘Stranger Things’ Came at Jonathan Byers’ Expense
Image
Steve Harrington is inarguably the most popular character from Stranger Things, thanks to actor Joe Keery’s charismatic performance. Initially introduced as a bully and boyfriend of Nancy Wheeler, the character went on to have one of the most impressive redemption arcs in the first season, turning him into a fan favorite.

Despite this, some fans feel that the character stole the actual role of Charlie Heaton’s Jonathan Byers in the later seasons. As the series progresses, Steve becomes more of a big brother to the Hawkins gang, a role naturally suited for Jonathan, given his preexisting relationship to the group. Here is what fans had to say about the Steve-Jonathan conundrum in Stranger Things.

Stranger Things fans think Steve Harrington’s redemption arc came at Jonathan Byers’ expense

Stranger Things emerged as one of Netflix’s most popular shows, primarily because of its cast of likable characters. However,...

‘Stranger Things’ Mike Wheeler Is the Most Emotionally Repressed Lead Since Edward Cullen, and the Ring Proves It
Image
Mike Wheeler might be the heart of Stranger Things, but emotionally, he’s more frozen than freaked out. Across four seasons of supernatural chaos, he’s emerged as one of TV’s most emotionally stunted leads, rivaling even Edward Cullen in the bottled-up-feelings department. While everyone else unpacks trauma and faces inner demons, Mike sidesteps vulnerability like it’s a Demogorgon. And then there’s the ring, a silent, awkward substitute for words he just can’t seem to say.

Whether it’s love, fear, or anything in between, Mike rarely lets it show, making his emotional distance one of the show’s strangest and most frustrating recurring themes.

Stranger Things Season 5 Brings Back 12 Characters from Season 1 (Confirmed)
Image
Stranger Things Season 5 has already confirmed several Season 1 characters appearing in the upcoming fifth and final batch of episodes. Netflix's sci-fi epic will finally come to a close later this year, ending The Duffer Brothers' story of a group of teens battling the fierce forces of a hellish alternate dimension.

Since its debut, one of the best parts of Stranger Things has been its killer cast of characters, several of whom have been a part of the story since Season 1 and will also appear in Season 5. Fans have been with characters like Millie Bobby Brown's Eleven and Finn Wolfhard's Mike Wheeler for nearly a decade at this point, so they have seen this lovable bunch of personalities grow up and will have to say goodbye with the release of Stranger Things Season 5.

Season 5 still has no specific release date announced but is expected to debut on the service sometime this fall.

"It's Weirdly a Personal Film": 'Stranger Things' Star Finn Wolfhard Explains Why He Wanted to Tackle an 'Idle Hands' Reboot
Image
Late last year, before his directorial debut feature Hell of a Summer slashed into theaters, Finn Wolfhard and his co-director and creative partner Billy Bryk signed on to pen a remake of the '90s horror-comedy cult classic Idle Hands. Considering his first film was an homage to classic teen comedies and slashers, it sounds like the perfect next step for the Stranger Things star, with his Ghostbusters and Saturday Night director Jason Reitman joining him as a producer to reanimate the strange, dark, and supernatural flick. The original, helmed by Rodman Flender and starring horror icon Devon Sawa, followed a teenager whose hand becomes possessed and begins a streak of mass murder, starting with his parents. However, there's more to the B-movie that made Wolfhard want to put his own spin on it with Bryk.

During an episode of Mythical Kitchen's YouTube series Last Meals, Wolfhard was asked...

‘Stranger Things’ Star Finn Wolfhard Just Exposed The Biggest Problem With Millie Bobby Brown’s Career
Image
One of the biggest gifts that the Stranger Things saga brought to fans was arguably the star-studded cast. This includes the likes of tremendous talents like Finn Wolfhard and Millie Bobby Brown, among others. And now the show is about to come to a conclusion after nearly a decade, all of them will have to move and find other projects to line up in their resume.

Almost the entire lead cast of the horror series has led a fair career so far, even beyond Stranger Things itself. But a closer look at Bobby Brown’s career, in particular, reveals that she may be lagging behind, and Wolfhard just exposed the reason behind the same while he was talking about his own career choices: lack of original pieces.
