Good Burger 2 is a fun nostalgia ride for fans of the original, capturing the same good-natured charm and chemistry between Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell. While the sequel leans heavily on nostalgia, particularly in the first half, Thompson and Mitchell's Abbott & Costello-style riffing and Mitchell's lovable portrayal of Ed make it a satisfying watch. Good Burger 2 adds new elements to the franchise, including the use of AI and automation, and brings in fresh characters, while still delivering the silly and charming humor that fans expect.
Belatedly arriving 26 years after its 1997 predecessor, Good Burger 2 positions itself as a fun nostalgia ride for fans of Nickelodeon's signature All That sketch and the innate chemistry between Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell. Good Burger 2 has just as much good-natured, family-friendly charm as the original Good Burger, but it also leans a bit too heavily into the aforementioned nostalgia, particularly in its first half.

Did someone order more comedy with a side of fries from Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell? In addition to teaching the world about who’s a dude (it turns out we’re all dudes), the dynamic burger-slinging comedic duo is looking to “Super-Size” their recent reunion for Good Burger 2 in more ways than one! Speaking with Variety about getting back behind the counter for the long-awaited sequel Good Burger 2, Thompson says he and Mitchell will “one million percent” continue working together after the delicious follow-up to 1997’s Good Burger.
“It would be only right for us to continue to go explore what Kenan and Kel could have been when we were in our 20s when we left Nickelodeon and decided to try to figure it out, instead of just automatically doing the Abbott and Costello thing,” Thompson says. “Now that we’re older and sharper and wiser and this that and the other,...

Kenan Thompson wants the authentic experience when Good Burger 2 gets released.
Thompson made an appearance on The Today Show where the longtime Saturday Night Live star revealed that he has yet to see the upcoming sequel to the 1997 Nickelodeon comedy. Instead, the comedian wants to "watch it raw" like the rest of the fans. "I wanted a genuine experience," Thompson said. "That way, I can know if people are telling me the truth, if they liked it or not, or they're just saying it."

On Aug. 21, Paramount+ dropped the first teaser, and it seems like no time has passed because Ed and Dex are up to their old antics. Then, on Oct. 30, the streamer dropped another full trailer for the highly anticipated sequel, teasing "the new adventures of Ed and Dex."
Per the new clip, it seems the duo's new adventures involve trying to hold onto their jobs as burger-serving robots take over their beloved restaurant that's on its way to becoming a global phenomenon.
Back in March, Jimmy Fallon and his crowd instantly went wild when Thompson and Mitchell revealed the "Good Burger 2" news on "The Tonight Show." "Ladies and gentlemen, Kel has something he would like to tell you," Thompson teased before handing the announcement over to his costar.

"Good Burger" is a rather unlikely success story of '90s kids' entertainment. Back in the '90s, Nickelodeon created a sketch comedy show titled "All That," which was essentially the kids' version of "Saturday Night Live." It ran absurd sketches and launched the careers of many actors like Amanda Bynes, Nick Cannon, Katrina Johnson, Jack DeSena, Kel Mitchell, and Kenan Thompson — who would go on to become the longest-reigning "SNL" cast member ever.
And just like "SNL," "All That" would see some sketches turn into spin-offs, with the biggest one being "Good Burger." In the sketches, Kenan and Kel starred as Dexter and Ed, two fast food joint workers who get into all sorts of hijinks. The movie was directed by Brian Robbins, who would go on to become president and CEO of Paramount Pictures.

In the 1990s, Nickelodeon created a sketch comedy show called "All That," an absurdist half-hour that was the kid's answer to "Saturday Night Live." The series ran for 10 seasons and served as the launchpad for performers like Nick Cannon, Amanda Bynes, Josh Server, Katrina Johnson, Lori Beth Denberg, Danny Tamberelli, Kel Mitchell, and the longest-reigning "SNL" cast member in history, Kenan Thompson. Like the adult series, "All That" birthed a handful of sketches that would get their own spin-offs, none more famous than "Good Burger."
Kenan and Kel starred as Dexter and Ed, getting into hijinks while working at a fast food joint that fans loved so much, they got their own movie. Now, over 25 years later, the classic combo is back with "Good Burger 2." Paramount+ and Nickelodeon Studios released a teaser trailer today, opening with Dexter hit by a car being driven by Ed, one that he's converted into a burger mobile.

Welcome (back) to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger, can I take your order? Everyone's favorite titular fast food joint will soon be open for business again, as Good Burger 2 is officially set to come to Paramount+.
The original film debuted in 1997 and starred Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell of... well, Kenan & Kel. In the 25 years since the release, it's developed a cult following and never really left the public eye. Good Burger's premise originated on Nickelodeon's sketch comedy show All That, often described as the kid-friendly version of Saturday Night Live.
In the sketch, Mitchell appeared as the lovably dimwitted cashier Ed. While Thompson's character of Dexter was created for the film, he and Mitchell appeared together in several other All That sketches, ultimately leading to their self-titled sitcom.
So, what's on the menu for Good Burger's second chapter? No one should be surprised that...

Get out your membership cards. The last Blockbuster store in the US is planning to run an ad during the Super Bowl.
No, a bunch of late fees didn’t suddenly appear in its bank account. The store, located in Bend, Oregon, won’t be buying a seven-milliion-dollar TV spot. Instead, it’s streaming on Instagram. It will also play it on a VHS tape at the store, then will make the tape available for rent at 2 per day.
The store is no doubt counting on media (like this site) to pick up on the plans, thus saving several million dollars.
“We are doing a fun, retro-style commercial that we will be releasing during the Big Game. We are featuring it during halftime in the store and on social media,” store owner Sandi Harding told Oregon Live in an email.

Blockbuster has closed for business… again. It was announced today that Netflix has cancelled Blockbuster, their single-camera workplace comedy series which revolved around the last Blockbuster in America.
Blockbuster didn’t attract much interest upon its debut on Netflix last month, as it failed to break into the Netflix Top 10 rankings in the U.S. and was largely dismissed by critics. The series starred Randall Park as Timmy Yoon, “an analog dreamer in a 5G world. He’s spent his entire adult life dedicated to his first love, movies — a passion that’s kept him at his first and only job, managing his hometown Blockbuster Video.” When he learns that his store has become the last Blockbuster in America, he takes action to stay open and keep his friends employed. “Timmy and his staff quickly realize that being home to the last Blockbuster might actually be what their community needs...

Netflix is closing up its Blockbuster.
The streaming service made the decision Friday to cancel the comedy series after a single season.
The series didn't make an impact on the streamer's viewership metrics, which typically spells doom for any series.
The series launched to tepid reviews in November.
Blockbuster starred Randall Park (Timmy), Melissa Fumero (Eliza), Tyler Alvarez (Carlos), Madeleine Arthur (Hannah), Olga Merediz (Connie), Jb Smoove (Percy), and Kamaia Fairburn (Kayla).
"Timmy Yoon (Randall Park) is an analog dreamer in a 5G world. He’s spent his entire adult life dedicated to his first love, movies — a passion that's kept him at his first and only job, managing his hometown Blockbuster Video," the logline teases.
"Then Timmy is alarmed to learn that his store is officially the last Blockbuster in America."
"He now has no choice but to take action to stay open and keep his friends employed. Timmy...
