Barcelona-based film studio Filmax has acquired distribution and international sales rights for “Another Man,” the second feature film by Spanish director David Moragas. The Catalan-language movie promises to deliver a compelling look at contemporary relationships and personal challenges.

The film centers on Marc and Eunald, a couple whose relationship is put to the test when a new neighbor named Carlos moves into their apartment building. This narrative explores the complexities of modern partnerships, forcing the main character to examine his life choices and future aspirations.

Featuring a talented cast including Lluís Marquès, Quim Àvila, and Bruna Cusí, “Another Man” represents a significant step in Moragas’s developing career. Following the success of his debut film “A Stormy Night,” which gained international recognition, this project continues his exploration of life’s pivotal moments.

The production is a collaborative effort between Oberon Media, a Barcelona-based company, Mexico’s Monstro Films, and Un Altre Home A.

Barcelona studio Filmax has boarded “Another Man,” a comedy-laced romantic drama marking the second feature from Spanish writer-director David Moragas who turned heads on the festival circuit with ‘A Stormy Night,’ a black and white New York-set brief encounter story. Filmax will handle the theatrical release in Spain and international sales on “Another Man.”

In it, Marc and Eunald appear to be a stable couple. But Marc pushes back against Eunald’s attempts to consolidate their relationship. New neighbor Carlos, who moves into the apartment opposite, mesmerizes Marc, making him question his life until now.

Moragas’ first feature length film in Catalan, starring Lluís Marquès (“Girlfriends”), Quim Àvila (“Burning Body”) and Bruna Cusí (“Summer 1993”), the film explores the complexities of romantic relationships and the life changing decisions people make in their thirties.

The filmmaker is directing Anna Castillo and Oriol Pla in an optimistic, passionate and intense story that unfolds in various settings in Catalonia and the city of Melilla. The shoot for the new film by Jaime Rosales, Girasoles silvestres (lit. “Wild Sunflowers”), kicked off a few days ago in his home town of Barcelona. The movie stars Anna Castillo (whom we saw last year in Adú), who breathes life into a mother in search of true love, but who, above all else, battles to protect her children, and Oriol Pla, playing a boy who embarks on a relationship with her.
