Actress Willa Fitzgerald has been cast in Wash Me In The River, the Randall Emmett-directed action thriller which is shooting in Georgia and Puerto Rico. Fitzgerald joins previously announced stars Robert De Niro, John Malkovich, and Jack Huston.

Written by Adam Taylor Barker, the pic centers on a recovering opioid addict who seeks revenge on the dealers responsible for selling the drugs that resulted in his fiance’s death.

Fitzgerald, who was recently seen starring in John Crowley’s The Goldfinch and the USA series Dare Me, will play Ruby Red. She’s a radiant young woman with a troubled past who finally gets clean in hopes of starting a new life with her fiancé (Huston). Kitsch joins Robert De Niro and John Malkovich a drama that will be directed next month by Randall Emmett. Emmett restarted production and wrapped on Midnight in the Switchgrass, the vet producer’s directing debut. That film, which had Baker in its ensemble cast, halted five days into production when the pandemic shut everything last March. Wash Me in the River shoots early next month in Georgia and Puerto Rico.

Robert De Niro, Colson “Machine Gun Kelly” Baker and John Malkovich are set to star in an action thriller called “Wash Me In The River” that hopes to begin production in November, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.

Randall Emmett is directing and producing the film that tells the story of an opioid addict who is out for revenge against the dealers that sold him drugs that caused the death of his fiancée, all while two cops are hot on his tail.

Emmett, a producer who recently paired with De Niro on “The Irishman,” is currently finishing up his directorial debut “Midnight in the Switchgrass” and is hoping to begin production on “Wash Me In The River” on November 9. Adam Taylor Baker wrote the script.

Additional casting is underway on “Wash Me In The River,” and rapper Quavo of the group Migos is also in talks to join the cast.

Sullivan started with Emmett/Furla as an intern in 2008, where he rose to Director of Development. Eckert has been first assistant to Emmett and Furla and before that worked in the training program at ICM Partners. Eckert will work under Sullivan to source new material, and will be a production exec. Recent hire Ethan Weiner will replace Eckert as executive assistant.
