Philipp Käßbohrer is a writer, director, creator, producer and indie boss and in a sit-down with Deadline before accepting his German TV Disruptor Award said his aim is to keep shaking up the business.
“We see change everywhere in the world right now and I think that the most comfortable way to adapt to this is to follow the stream and go where that change leads you,” Käßbohrer said during the award presentation at the Seriencamp drama confab.
He continued” “You need to take some energy… to get to the places where it’s uncomfortable and where you try to figure out how to adapt, because that’s something the young generation already does. Creators on the internet don’t wait for a commissioner.”
Käßbohrer runs the Cologne-based indie bildundtonfabrik with Matthias Murmann, with whom he created Netflix hit How To Sell Drugs Online (Fast). It now has its own...

Producer, writer, director and indie boss Philipp Käßbohrer will be honored as Deadline’s 2025 German TV Disruptor at Seriencamp in Cologne, the city where his bildundtonfabrik prodco is based.
Käßbohrer and his fellow btf label boss Matthias Murmann created Netflix’s dark comedy-drama How To Sell Drugs Online (Fast). The fast-paced half-hour series has unique visuals with graphic overlays and VFX touches weaved into the tale of a high-schooler’s attempt to sell ecstasy on the dark net. The final episodes of the show dropped earlier this year.
For btf, landing a drama show with the streamer was a big deal. When the series was greenlit the prodco was best known in the German biz for making a popular late-night talk show, but at that point had never made a scripted series.
Käßbohrer tells Deadline he didn’t want to stay in one lane and that’s why he started...

It doesn’t exactly sound like something you’d expect to see on Disney+, on paper at least, but Deadline reports today that Disney+ has given the green light to a German series titled “Pauline,” which comes from the team behind Netflix’s How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast).
“Pauline” is said to be a coming-of-age story, so don’t expect too much horror here.
The site details, “Pauline follows an 18-year-old who accidentally becomes pregnant – from a one-night stand. With school stress, the climate crisis and the downfall of society weighing heavily on her mind, something she doesn’t need at all right now is catching feelings, especially not for her one-night stand Lukas, who, as it turns out, is the devil himself.”
Sebastian Colley wrote “Pauline,” with attached directors including Arabella Bartsch, Alma Buddecke and Facundo Scalerandi. The cast includes Sira-Anna Faal (Berlin Nobody) as Pauline, Ludger Bökelmann as Lukas,...

Cannes — Netflix’s “How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast)” kicks off with a police special unit, automatic rifles trained, moving in silently for asking. The target, a buff teen drug dealer, at work in his basement lab lair. He bolts on his scooter, doesn’t get 10 yards before he’s arrested.
So this is how the protagonist ends up? No, it’s an illustration of what happens to you if you don’t secure your data base correctly and insinuate you’re dealing as a flirting technique, lectures a voice over, revealed as the confident, smiling 20-something Moritz Zimmermann.
