Could Below Deck Sailing Yacht get a reboot? Gary King is at the center of sexual assault allegations. He hasn’t taken accountability for his actions. In the meantime, he’s become one of the most hated cast members in the franchise.
Gary joined the Below Deck spinoff series during the second season. He became Captain Glenn Shephard’s First Officer and right-hand man. They quickly became best friends. Gary even lived with Glenn on the Parsifal III. Because of this, Gary became a huge part of the show.
He created drama for his many boatmances involving women. Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans dubbed him “creepy” and “problematic” long before the allegations surfaced. Some feel justified in their feelings about him.

After Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 4 aired on Bravo, Samantha Suarez accused Gary King of sexual misconduct. Samantha works as one of the show’s makeup artists.

Gary King should be replaced by a Below Deck alum as Bosun in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 if fired for misconduct. Bravo should fire Gary King and invite a former yachtie like Kelley Johnson to return for Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5. Malia White could serve as a suitable replacement for Gary in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5, offering a potential redemption arc.

Bosuns on Below Deck often develop egos fueled by the combination of being on TV and their leadership roles. Some bosuns, like Jared Woodin, have been fired for underperforming, while others, like Bryan Kattenburg, excel in their roles. Egos can lead to drama, as seen with crew members like Eddie Lucas and Ashton Pienaar, impacting the success of the charter team.
There have been many Bosuns in the Below Deck franchise with big egos. As the head of the exterior team, Bosuns have a difficult job that requires skill, patience, and leadership. They serve as the right hand in line for each captain. Bosuns are crucial to the success of each charter team alongside the Chief Stew. If they don't fit the position, the whole superyacht suffers. Jared Woodin was fired during Below Deck season 11 for underperforming as Bosun. Aside from Jared, there have been other Below Deck bosuns who shouldve been fired but werent.

Forgettable bosuns on Below Deck faced personal and professional challenges that overshadowed their roles on the show. Leadership skills and management style are crucial for bosuns on Below Deck, as they navigate high-pressure situations during charter seasons. Interpersonal conflicts, romantic entanglements, and lack of communication contributed to some bosuns being considered forgettable in the franchise.

Kelley Johnson has transitioned from being a reality star on Below Deck to working full-time as a captain in the yachting industry. Kelley has also pursued his passion for photography and videography, building his portfolio and sharing his scenic work on Instagram. Kelley's focus is on his career as a captain and his personal life as a married man, making it unlikely for him to return to the Bravo series.
Kelley Johnson was featured on two seasons of Below Deck working on the exterior team, but there's curiosity about what he's been doing since appearing on the show. The former reality star was first seen on Below Deck season 2 as a deckhand. Captain Lee Rosbach was impressed with Kelley as a deckhand and decided to promote him to bosun. Today, Kelley is still involved in the yachting industry. As fans await Below Deck season 11, it's time to revisit Kelley's time on the hit Bravo series.

Captain Lee Rosbach, a staple of Below Deck, will not be returning for season 11 due to health reasons, but he has had an amazing run leading the crew. Chef Ben Robinson continues to showcase his cooking expertise through YouTube tutorials, Zoom classes, and appearances on Cameo, despite never returning to Below Deck. Kate Chastain announced her departure from the show in 2020 and has since become a mother, enjoying life away from the cameras while still keeping up with the show on social media.
Season two of Below Deck aired back in 2014, taking the reality series onboard a new boat, the Ohana, with Captain Lee Rosbach leading the crew. Fans got to see some familiar faces, including Ben Robinson, who came back as chef, and Eddie Lucas, who was promoted to bosun. Jennice Ontiveros, the first female deckhand on Below Deck season 2, faced struggles as the only woman on the deck team. Jennice had a complicated boatmance with crew member Kelley Johnson, but their relationship fell apart and ended messily. Since leaving Below Deck, Jennice has found success in the entertainment industry and now works as a narrator and producer.

Timothy Sykes believes that the producers of Below Deck intentionally portrayed him in a negative light, making him look like a jackass. Timothy had various complaints about his experience on the show, including issues with the WiFi and the quality of the food. Despite his negative experience, Timothy would be willing to go on Below Deck again and challenge the crew to perform better and earn a bigger tip.
Timothy Sykes was branded the worst charter guest in Below Deck history after appearing on an episode in season 2, but he told his side of the story after appearing on the hit Bravo TV series. His episode has become iconic in the franchise, from his helicopter entrance onto the yacht to Chef Ben Robinson's legendary outburst in the galley. Timothy has stayed on the list of worst charter guests, but his blog shares his thoughts about the episode from his perspective.

It's time to talk about what happened to the "Paul Mitchell" hair model Trevor Walker from Below Deck season 4. He was difficult to work with, and was quickly fired from the show. He had filmed the series aboard the super yacht Valor, and things were tense, right from the start. Since he was let go early in the season, there are questions about what happened to him after his reality stint.
Bravo's Below Deck premiered in 2013. It showcased the ups and downs of yacht crew members, who work and live on luxury "white boats" that are over 100 feet long. The series also features rich and famous charter guests who vacation onboard. The show continues on, year after year, and it is definitely a very popular Bravo series. The franchise has even released several spin-off shows, including Below Deck: Mediterranean, Below Deck Adventure, and Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

With eight seasons on the high seas, Below Deck has provided quite the collection of nautical shenanigans while following the lives of the crew working on superyachts. Despite the idyllic surroundings, life working on luxury boats is far from dreamy. Yachting brings strangers together to live and work in cramped quarters while catering to rich and demanding guests. All things considered, the high-stress environment of yachting creates the perfect cocktail for a reality show or several.

Below Deck is a show on Bravo that follows the crew of a superyacht under the direction of Captain Lee. A deckhand is one of the positions on the ship for crew members to hold, and they are responsible for the exterior happenings of the ship. This includes things like docking, water excursions for the guests, and cleaning the exterior of the ship (among other tasks).
Some crew members were better as a deckhand than others, as fans watched some rise to the challenge and others fail miserably. It was easy to pick out the bad apple from a group as they failed to mesh with the rest of the crew. And although Below Deck has spiraled into four spinoffs, there's something special about the best and worst of the original series.
