The first four episodes of Wednesday season 2 are now streaming on Netflix, and as expected, it's what everyone's currently watching and talking about. In the latest episodes, Wednesday heads back to Nevermore Academy and quickly becomes caught up in a new supernatural mystery.
Also joining her at the school for outcasts this season is her younger brother, Pugsley, who's just come into his abilities. Of course, it wouldn't be right if the entire Addams family didn't come to drop both Wednesday and Pugsley off for their first day of a new semester. This includes Morticia, Gomez, Thing, and Lurch. But there's something different about Lurch this season that you probably didn't notice while watching.
The beloved Addams family butler has been quietly recast, with a new actor stepping into the towering, silent role. In the first season, Lurch was played by George Burcea, a Romanian actor who is 6 feet 3 inches tall.

It feels bizarre that Wednesday returns at a time when Halloween is still months away. The show that became a runaway Netflix hit — while creatively reinvigorating director Tim Burton and turning Jenna Ortega into a generational star — radiates creepy, kooky and altogether ooky vibes, spinning the Addams Family character into her own Harry Potter-for-goth-kids YA detective series with hugely fun results. But Wednesday’s return at the height of summer speaks to Netflix’s blockbuster approach for the show’s second season — much bigger and starrier, a Stranger Things-like glow-up in scope, with somewhat mixed results.
The not-so-secret weapon in Season 1 was Ortega herself — knockout casting, elevating the material with deliciously deadpan delivery. She remains excellent here, relishing every cutting line. “It’s Addams with two Ds,” she declares early on. “Like ‘padded room’.” We’re reunited with Wednesday during her idea of...

This post contains spoilers from Wednesday season 2 episode 1 from this point forward.
Long time no see, Wednesday Addams! It's been nearly three years since the Emmy Award-nominated Netflix original series premiered, but Wednesday season 2 has finally arrived. The first episode, aptly titled "Here We Woe Again," kicks off with Wednesday harnessing her psychic abilities with help from Goody's book and taking on a new mystery to solve. She takes it upon herself to solve the Kansas City Scalper cold case.
Somehow still making it through airport security even though she had an arsenal of weapons on her person, Wednesday makes it to Kansas City and confronts the Scalper (Haley Joel Osment). Her psychic vision gives her black tears, and Thing helps her out when the Scalper ties her up in his basement. She returns home after catching the serial killer, but it's time to head back to school at Nevermore Academy.

Did you watch the first season of Netflix’s Wednesday and come away wishing for more mystery and less humor, more of the secondary members of the Addams family and less of Jenna Ortega’s Emmy-nominated performance, more of the supernatural world of outcasts and less of the real world for contrast?
It’s Ok not to remember exactly. Wednesday premiered nearly three years ago, a duration also known as “adolescence” for most of the underaged supporting cast.
Fortunately, and conveniently, few of the specific plot details from that well-received season are all that relevant. There are enough expositional reminders here for a general catch-up, but the truth is that the new season of Wednesday is so generic that my biggest challenge was separating my memory of the first season from nearly identical dynamics that played out in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Percy Jackson and the Olympians and...

What's to be done about those who are themselves strange and unusual? The typical answer is for culture to either assimilate or reject the outcasts; if their quirks cannot be embraced and worked into more digestible form for the masses, then they must be renounced, laughed at, and diminished. This is the artistic struggle that filmmaker Tim Burton has dealt with for the entirety of his career, and he's been around long enough to have experienced all the facets of issues with trendiness and conformity. For the first half of his career, Burton's oddball traits were resoundingly praised. Then, like his Edward Scissorhands or Oswald Cobblepot, the luster faded, either in his own work or the public's liking of it (or perhaps a mixture of both), and he endured a period of great financial success mixed with ill reception. In the last several years, Burton has appeared to reach...

Wednesday, the fan-favorite, mystery-oriented spin-off/reboot of the long-running Addams Family franchise, has finally returned for a second season on Netflix after three long years of waiting. Indeed, fans have been chomping at the bit for more of Jenna Ortega and Tim Burton’s fresh new take on the beloved Addams daughter, and you can count me amongst them as someone who’s had a soft spot for Charles Addams’ kooky creations since high school.
But with the pedigree of the first season and the long hype cycle for Season 2, can the final product actually live up to those expectations? Right now, I am happy to report that the answer is mostly yes. Season 2 is at least as good as the first season, and by the end I could easily see it being better. Though please bear in mind that this only applies to the first four episodes, as that...

For half a century, Star Wars fans have accepted a simple yet enduring truth: Han Solo is the rugged smuggler with a fast ship, and Chewbacca is his loyal sidekick. But what if we’ve had it backward this whole time? What if Han Solo is actually Chewbacca’s pet?
Yes, it sounds ridiculous. But stop for a moment and really think about it. Look past the blaster and the bravado, and the dynamic between Han and Chewie starts to look a lot less like “pilot and co-pilot,” and a lot more like “dog and human”—except Chewbacca is the one holding the leash.
Let’s break it down.
Chewie is clearly the adult in the room
Han Solo is the plucky, rude, yapping scoundrel. He runs his mouth. Constantly. He’s impulsive, arrogant, and more often than not, just making things worse. And who’s always there to clean up the mess?...

Wednesday Season 2 on Netflix is nearing its premiere on August 6, 2025. The upcoming season is going to be split into two parts. The upcoming season has a brand new roster of fresh faces, but fans are going particularly gaga over one addition: Lady Gaga. Popular for her genre-bending creativity, Gaga seems like the most fitting addition to the franchise, set to appear in a guest role in Season 2 Part 2 (via Netflix).
Speaking about working with her to Variety, Tim Burton expressed:
She’s such an artist, and so for me, working with an artist is inspirational.
He also recently teased the possibility of collaborating with the actress/singer at the Giffoni Film Festival in Italy. When asked if he can confirm whether he’ll ever work with Gaga again, he replied, “No, I can’t. But I dope so”. And that gives us hope. While we wait to witness Gaga in...

Good news would make Wednesday Addams feel like harming someone to relish the emotional whiplash, but this bit would surely be exciting. Ahead of the premiere of the much-anticipated second season of Netflix's hit series Wednesday, The Hollywood Reporter reveals that the show has been renewed for Season 3. Series director Tim Burton and star Jenna Ortega shared the news. The news of the early renewal, while surprising, doesn't come as a total shock, given the show's immense popularity on the streaming platform. Wednesday Season 1 stands proud as the most-watched season of a Netflix show, making it the most popular Netflix original series of all time. The show has amassed 252.1 million views so far, and this number is expected to increase when Season 2 debuts its first part on August 6.
The Hollywood Reporter also posed the question of the show's longevity, but the executive producer and actor did not have a definite answer.

For many years, the majority of "Star Wars" actors were identified by one signature role, save some of the shorter, alien-costumed actors like Jack Purvis, who played both the chief Jawa and Teebo the Ewok. That was when the entirety of the franchise was a mere trilogy of movies. Now, it's a never-ending spout of content featuring three trilogies, two theatrical spin-off movies, multiple streaming shows, and a cargo load of animation. With the expansion of the property across multiple media, reliable thespians have been called back by Lucasfilm, not only to reprise their old characters, but to double, triple, or more as multiple characters. We're not just talking about animation, in which versatile voice actors have been a tradition since the heyday of Mel Blanc. Many "Star Wars" actors in live-action projects have played more than one role, and this list is for them.

A new year brings new woes, especially for Jenna Ortega's Wednesday Addams, who finds herself labeled a "hero" at Nevermore Academy. The show's titular teen will have to race against the clock to solve the mystery and save the day, but she will be confronted by haunting psychic visions, black tears, and undead drama along the way.

However, it looks like their reunion might be cut short as a dark turn of events leads the spooky and kooky star of The Addams Family Netflix...

Mystery and mayhem abound in Netflix’s official trailer for Wednesday Season Two. The trailer starts with a clip similar to that of the teaser released in April, with Wednesday’s mother Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) commenting that her daughter Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) returning to Nevermore Academy marks the first time she elected to go back to a school of her own accord. Wednesday likens it to “Returning to the scene of the crime. I already know where all the bodies are buried.”

Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) returns to Nevermore Academy in the trailer for Season 2 of Netflix’s Wednesday, revealing some “mysterious and kooky” plot details.
“How does it feel?” Morticia Addams (Catherine Zeta-Jones) asks her titular daughter in the trailer, as the family arrives with her at Nevermore to drop her off.
She responds dryly, “Like returning to the scene of the crime. I already know where the bodies are buried.”
Watch the trailer above.
Wednesday is focused on getting where she needs to be when she is approached by a bubbly man dressed in head-to-toe purple. This is her new principal, Barry Dort (Steve Buscemi), who refers to Wednesday as the savior of Nevermore, a comment connected to her heroic deeds in Season 1. Much to the famous pupil’s chagrin, she also has a bevy of fangirls hoping to get their queen’s autograph.

There’s a scene in Solo: A Star Wars Story—mid-train heist, snow flying, chaos erupting—where Han quite literally fumbles his way into being the hero. It’s clumsy and unexpectedly heartfelt, much like the movie itself.
Released in 2018 under the shadow of a very public director swap, Disney’s franchise fatigue, and the internet’s inability to let go of Harrison Ford, Solo never really had a fair shot. It grossed $393 million globally, making it the lowest-earning live-action Star Wars film, thus earning it the dreaded “flop” label.
However, box office numbers rarely tell the whole story. Solo isn’t actually a bad movie. In fact, it’s a lot more fun than most people give it credit for.
Solo hit theaters a mere five months after The Last Jedi, Rian Johnson’s film that split the fandom more violently than a lightsaber through a Praetorian Guard.

The Millennium Falcon, even extending beyond the "Star Wars" galaxy, is one of the most recognizable vehicles in the history of pop culture, right up there with the DeLorean from "Back to the Future" or James Bond's Aston Martin DB5. Naturally, it was a big crowd-pleasing moment when the ship was revealed in "Star Wars: Episode VII -- The Force Awakens," surprisingly not in the possession of Han Solo. So, what happened to the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy? How did Han lose his beloved ship? We're finally going to get an official answer to that question.
Per GamesRadar, Marvel Comics is set to publish a brand new five-issue miniseries this fall titled "Star Wars: Han Solo -- Hunt for the Falcon." Set between the events of "Star Wars: Episode VI -- Return of the Jedi" and "The Force Awakens," it's finally going to reveal exactly what happened...

Wednesday premiered in 2022, and after a long wait, the painful wait is almost over. Netflix is now doing everything it can to hype up Season 2, which has so far included several teasers about what's to come.
Wednesday will return this summer, and Season 2 will follow Netflix's new release pattern, which splits seasons in half. The first part arrives on Aug. 6, followed by Part 2 on Sept. 3, 2025. With less than two months to go until Part 1, Netflix just unveiled a clever look at Steve Buscemi's character as the new Nevermore Academy principal.
The new teaser for the upcoming Wednesday Season 2 looks like an ad for Nevermore Academy. Buschemi introduces himself as Principal Barry Dort, the new head of Nevermore Academy. He is taking over from the late Larissa Weems (Gwendoline Christie), and the teaser shows he is magically gifted, as well as incredibly proud of his "outcasts."

Few franchises are larger than life like "Star Wars." The iconic property has more legendary characters than pretty much every other blockbuster movie series combined, with dozens of smaller characters all capable of leading their own projects. Be that as it may, there are few bigger shoes to fill than the fuzzy feet of Han Solo's first mate, Chewbacca.
Inspired by George Lucas' childhood dog, an Alaskan Malamute named Indiana (I wonder where I've heard that name before?), the seven foot tall walking carpet wasn't originally going to play a large part in "Star Wars: Episode IV -- A New Hope." However, thanks to the casting of the lovable Peter Mayhew and his giant feet (along with his famous and distinctly canine head tilt), Chewbacca became an essential part of the "Star Wars" canon.

The news was announced at Netflix’s Tudum fan event at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles Saturday, where Lady Gaga took the stage for a climactic — and Wednesday-themed — performance. Emerging from a coffin with the words “Here lies the monster queen” on the lid and backed by a cadre of Addams Family-esque dancers, Gaga performed “Zombieboy” from her recently released album Mayhem.

Fresh foes and woes await Wednesday Addams this August. Netflix released a clip of the first six minutes of “Wednesday” Season 2 at fan event Tudum on Saturday — which revealed that Haley Joel Osment will be playing a serial killer called the Kansas City Scalper.
“I’m tied up in a serial killer’s basement. Who said nightmares don’t come true?” Wednesday (Jenna Oretga) says at the beginning of the clip, surrounded by creepy dolls. In voice-over, she goes on to explain that she spent her summer vacation hunting down the Kansas City Scalper. After she confronts him, he restrains her, then shows her a doll he’s made to look like her. “Let me show you some of my own handiwork,” she says before using her psychic abilities to free herself and attack him.
Along with Ortega, cast members returning to “Wednesday” are Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Moosa Mostafa,...

They’re creepy and they’re kooky, mysterious and spooky. They’re altogether ooky, the Addams Family. Netflix’s “Wednesday“ definitely emphasizes the macabre family’s mysteriousness as it expands for Season 2.
The series is returning for Part 1 on August 6, followed by Part 2 on September 3.
Ahead of the new season, “Wednesday“ recently revealed the extended family members appearing in the second season, including Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams, Victor Dorobantu as Thing, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Joanna Lumley as Grandmama Hester Frump, Joonas Suotamo as Lurch, and Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester.
Outside of titular character Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega), that leaves one extended family noticeably unmentioned among the lineup. The unnamed character is seen in the above family portrait, between Lurch and Fester, but we have no information about who this character is or who the mysterious character is played by.
