In Good Hands, the 2022 romantic drama, was all about Melisa getting in touch with her son Can’s father in a rather unusual manner. The movie ended with Firat taking responsibility for Can as Melisa said her goodbyes, as she knew she didn’t have long left, thanks to her cancer. The first movie was a Turkish Netflix original and was all about people coming together as a family and learning uncomfortable truths about each other. The second film is an extension of that universe and was released on Netflix on May 23, 2024. It was directed by Ketche, who also made the first film.

‘Oh Belinda’ Review: A Forgettable Tale Of A Woman Trying To Save Herself From A Life She Was Forced To Live

Magical realism is something many directors have toiled with. Many have been successful in putting together a good movie, but there are movies that just fell flat in the execution of this genre. There is Forrest Gump and Midnight in Paris, which beautifully use magic realism, and one would want any other film in this genre to follow in their footsteps. Meanwhile, there is “Oh Belinda,” which tries hard to bring this beautiful genre back to life but falls flat quite early in the runtime of the film. Why is that? “Oh Belinda” is a Turkish-language comedy-drama that is a Netflix Original and was released on the platform on April 7, 2023.
