Omar Epps' 10 Best Movies And TV Shows
Image
The best Omar Epps movies and TV shows include long-running medical, crime, and fantasy genres, and he also has some great work on the big screen as well. Epps was born in Brooklyn and attended a high school that specialized in performing arts before he started working in both music and acting. He then had a huge opportunity when he made his film debut in Juice, which got a lot of attention since it was also the film acting debut of rap legend Tupac Shakur. That was just the start.

Epps had a lot of success on the big screen, but he became a star thanks to his work on television. After a small recurring role in the medical drama ER, he exploded in popularity when he was cast as Dr. Eric Foreman in the medical drama series House. The actor earned several awards nominations for this role and then...

Every Major Character Death in The Scream Franchise, Ranked
Image
The Scream franchise started as a charming slasher comedy movie filled with satire and plenty of gore. But, it quickly grew in popularity, and then it grew in numbers with five more installments added to the franchise as recently as 2023. Across the six Scream movies, there are dozens of gruesome deaths.

Scream has some dedicated fans that, across the internet, have listed and tracked every single kill in the franchise, ranking at around 62 kills. But they should knock one off for the definitely alive Stu Macher. 1996's Scream does feature Sidney pushing a '90s box TV onto Stu's head, which is present in Scream VI's Ghostface Shrine. However, the death is controversial among fans, with late director Wes Craven confirming Stu's survival, actor Matthew Lillard's Stu-is-alive stance, and a scrapped Stu-centric storyline from Scream 3 supporting the idea. Still, there are plenty more major character deaths to rank.

Red Right Hand: The Top 15 Kills of the Entire ‘Scream’ Film Franchise
Image
2022 has been quite the year for fans of the beloved Scream franchise. It hosted the first theatrical release in the series since the fourth installment back in 2011. It also allowed us to revisit our favorite fabled town of Woodsboro. Meeting wonderful new characters like Mindy, Chad, and the Carpenter sisters – while catching up with the horror genre’s most esteemed trinity: Gale, Dewey, and Sidney.

Scream 2022 was not only a love letter to the late Master of Horror, Wes Craven, and the genre he’s left such a legendary mark on – but of the stand-out slasher series that changed the foundation of horror in the mid-to-late nineties.

To no surprise, audiences reciprocated the affection of the cast and crew as the film was widely enjoyed and celebrated by the horror community. The outpour of love and support from fans was a clear indicator that the Scream franchise was in...

Phil Stevens’ Flowers 02 Crowdfunding Campaign/Chat with Cast and Crew
Hnn | Horrornews.net

Phil Stevens is in the process of writing a new chapter in horror with his darkly artistic, bloody and upsetting films, telling his nihilistic stories of death and destruction with strong visuals and a distinct lack of dialogue. With Flowers (2015), we have the unique tale of a serial killer as told by his deceased …

‘Mecanix’ Review (Unearthed Films)
Stars: Stéphane Bilodeau, Julie-Anne Côté, Philippe Chabot | Written by Rémy M. Larochelle, Mélissa Hébert | Directed by Rémy M. Larochelle

Following on from my review of Phil Stevens’ blistering Lung, I continue to work my way through the releases being proffered by the fellows at Unearthed Films. This one, I have to say, took me entirely by surprise. I went in to Mecanix totally cold and found myself suitably impressed.

Roaring forth from the hazy days of 2003, Mecanix is the first, and thus far only, feature from Canadian film-maker Remy M. Larochelle. With that thought in mind, it really is a remarkable achievement.

Blending expressionistic stop-motion animation with live action, Mecanix is a glimpse into a twisted engine world in which humans exist in captivity, living in apparent servitude to a race of hideous, bio-mechanical creatures who desperately seek an object called “The Embryo” while one of the last free humans...

What I am about to say might shock you to your very core. Ready? Extreme horror isn’t for everyone.

Boom! That was the sound of your minds being blown.

If you fall into this aforementioned camp and like your horror a little lighter, then keep moving along. If, however, you fancy joining the hordes of rabid fans clamouring for this material and taking the plunge into something quite a way away from the mainstream then you really should start by taking a peek at the slate of films being offered up by those fine folks at Unearthed Films, arguably the finest distributor of the best extreme and bizarre cinema in the world.

Which brings us swiftly on to Phil Stevens’ Lung.

As someone with a well-documented interest in gore cinema,...

Flowers (2015)
Interview: Flowers writer/director Phil Stevens!
Flowers (2015)
Holy cats, my creeps! Believe me when I say you have ne’er, e’er experienced a fright flick quite like Flowers. I ain’t just blowin’ smoke up yer ass, either. This thing is brutal, gore-drenched, ultra-disturbing, and completely devoid of dialogue. Yup, you read that right: in a display completely the antithesis of yours cruelly, not a single character in this beast opens their traps.

As you can imagine, I just had to talk to the dude responsible for this hard-hittin’ horror show! And, watta ya know, here he is now in the Crypt o’ Xiii! Let’s all put our claws and paws together for Phil Stevens!

Famous Monsters. How in the hell did you come up with a fright flick like Flowers, and how did you come to make it devoid of dialogue?

Phil Stevens. For as long as I can remember, I was always writing scripts or filming something.
