In response to a defamation suit filed today by France’s President & First Lady, Candace Owens is doubling down on her seemingly fanatical assertion that Brigitte Macron was born a man – and she’s bringing Donald Trump with her.
Even with the legal action from Emmanuel Macron and his wife, no one realistically expected Owens to back down on her red meat claims on the First Lady of France’s original gender. However, just as she pours more gasoline on the flames of Maga discontent over the Jeffrey Epstein files not being released by the Justice Department, the controversy embracing right-winger has gone full scorched Earth and now pulled Trump into the case.
Doubling down on the assertion that 72-year-old Mrs. Macron is indeed a male and citing a recently overturned French libel case on the subject, former Daily Wire contributor Owens Wednesday exclaimed that the suit filed today in Delaware actually defames her.

Candace Owens has been sued for defamation by French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte over a years-long campaign featuring assertions that the first lady of France is male, marking the second time in as many months that a right-wing political commentator has been sued for allegedly false reporting.
Owens said last year that she “would stake [her] entire professional reputation on the fact that Brigitte Macron is in fact a man.” Since then, she’s leveraged the statement to juice her online following despite evidence disproving the claim, according to a lawsuit filed on Wednesday in Delaware state court.
In a video, Owens called the lawsuit an “obvious and desperate public relations strategy.”
The filing of the complaint follows Gov. Gavin Newsom in June suing Fox News for defamation over its coverage of a phone call he had with President Trump. He claimed that the network deceptively edited the...

French President Emmanuel Macron has filed a lawsuit against the far-right podcaster Candace Owens for repeatedly claiming that his wife, Brigitte Macron, is a man.
In December 2021, YouTubers Amandine Roy and Natacha Rey were featured in a four-hour YouTube video in which they claimed Brigitte was born a man named Jean-Michel Trogneux, the name of her brother.
The rumors surrounding Brigitte angered the Macron family to the point that she took the YouTubers to court last June, and three months later, she was awarded $8,800 in damages, but that judgment was recently reversed.
Emmanuel Macron’s lawsuit against Owens, which was filed on July 23 in the Superior Court of the State of Delaware, states: “In March 2024, Candace Owens, a right-wing podcaster, told the world she ‘would stake [her] entire professional reputation on the fact that Brigitte Macron [the First Lady of France] is in fact a man. French President Emmanuel Macron and Brigitte Macron have filed a defamation lawsuit against Candace Owens, the conservative influencer and podcaster who claims the first lady was born male.
Filed in Delaware on Wednesday, the lawsuit accuses Owens of publishing “outlandish, defamatory and far-fetched fictions,” causing “substantial reputational damage” and “substantial economic damages” to the Macrons in the process, according to the Financial Times.
The 218 page-court ruling states that along with claiming Macron was born under the name Jean-Michel Trogneux, Owens went on to say that the Macrons are also blood relatives and that Emmanuel Macron is “a product of a CIA human experiment or a similar government mind control programme,” per the Financial Times.
The lawsuit says Owens is responsible for spreading the conspiracy theory in the U.S. and around the world in order “to promote her independent platform, gain notoriety and make money.” On top of selling some merchandise,...

Candace Owens is facing a lawsuit.
The 36-year-old conservative commentator is being sued for her “outlandish, defamatory, and far-fetched fictions” that French First Lady Brigitte Macron was born a man, per a lawsuit filed Wednesday by Emmanuel Macron, via Deadline.
The couple claim that Candace is constantly attacking the couple “to promote her independent platform, gain notoriety, and make money,”
She “has built a brand on provocation, not truth,” the defamation suit reads.

“The clicks kept coming, so Owens kept going, seizing every opportunity to promote her salacious claims,” exclaims the lawsuit, filed in Delaware state court.
“Rather than engage with President and Mrs. Macron’s attempts to set the record straight, Owens mocked them and used them as additional fodder for her frenzied fan base,” the filing adds.
Candace reportedly goaded the French First Couple to sue her for months on her Becoming Brigitte series.

Updated with Candace Owens statement: P.T. Barnum once said “no publicity is bad publicity,” but hard to tell if Candace Owens would agree or disagree today.
The conservative contrarian’s “outlandish, defamatory and far-fetched fictions” that French First Lady Brigitte Macron was born a man are totally false, a defamation lawsuit filed Wednesday by France President Emmanuel Macron and his spouse assert. The Élysée Palace occupants allege that the conspiracy-peddling Owens attacked the couple incessantly “to promote her independent platform, gain notoriety and make money.”

On Monday, a lawyer for France’s First Lady Brigitte Macron announced that she was taking her case against two women who spread false internet rumors that she was transgender to the highest appeals court.
The Paris appeals court overturned previous convictions against the two women on Thursday for spreading false claims. Macron’s lawyer noted she was “devastated” by the development.
French President Emmanuel Macron has defended his wife, saying, “The worst thing is the false information and fabricated scenarios. People eventually believe them and disturb you, even in your intimacy.”
In December 2021, the two women posted a video to YouTube in which they suggested that Macron was previously a man named Jean-Michel Trogneux, who, in actuality, is Macron’s brother. Before her first marriage, Macron also went by the name Brigitte Trogneux.

The European Union has begun testing age verification software which is being developed as part of a wider strategy to protect minors online across its 27 member states.
The European Commission announced on Monday that Denmark, France, Greece, Italy and Spain were taking part in a pilot test of an app, with a view to further customizing it in collaboration with member states, online platforms and end-users.
It is also being tested with online platforms, including adult content providers, with the commission inviting operators not yet involved to sign up.
At the end of the trial, which began in late June, countries will have the option of integrating the software into national digital wallets or publishing a customized national age verification app on app stores. Market players will also be invited to take up the software solution and further develop it.

Thierry Ardisson, a staple of the French television landscape for nearly four decades who ruffled feathers as an iconoclastic journalist, host and producer of often explosive talk shows, died on Tuesday from liver cancer. He was 76.
His wife, Audrey Crespo Mara, who is also a TV host and journalist, confirmed the news to French news agency Afp. “Thierry passed away as he lived: a courageous and free man,” she said in a statement. “His children and mine were united around him until his last breath.”
Nicknamed “the man in black” because of his invariable black outfits, Ardisson broke ground in France with his first major talk show, “Tout le monde en parle,” which would air late every Saturday night on France Télévisions Channel France 2 and became a hit in the late 1990s. Then, The Observer dropped a bombshell investigation, questioning multiple elements of the couple’s story and revealing that the author of the source material, Raynor Winn, was once arrested after being accused of stealing tens of thousands of pounds from her employer. Jimmy Kimmel is once again dissing President Donald Trump.
The Jimmy Kimmel Live host called out the President of the United States for dissing French President Emmanuel Macron, who claimed President Trump “bailed” on the G7 summit in Canada to help broker a ceasefire between Israel and Iran.
“For whatever reason, that rubbed Trump the wrong way. He was angry,” Jimmy commented as he shared a TruthSocial post from Trump in which he called Macron “publicity seeking.”
Keep reading to find out more…
Jimmy then compared President Trump to music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is on trial amid sex trafficking, assault and racketeering charges.
“By the way, Trump calling another president ‘publicity seeking’ is like Diddy calling you a bad boyfriend,” the late night host joked.
Trump’s social media statement ended: “It certainly has nothing to do with a ceasefire. Much bigger than that. Whether purposely or not,...

Iranian director Jafar Panahi, who recently won the Cannes Palme d’Or for his anti-regime drama “It Was Just an Accident,” has launched an impassioned appeal on Instagram that appears to push for Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to be toppled amid escalating conflict with Israel.
Panahi in an Instagram post called on the United Nations and the global community “to immediately and decisively force the two regimes” to “halt military attacks and end the killing of civilians.”
However Panahi, who is currently in an undisclosed location outside of Iran, also wrote: “The only way to escape is the immediate dissolution of this system and [to] initiate a people’s responsive and democratic government.”
“I have no doubt about this clear and non-negotiable point and I have stated my position explicitly and will say it again: an attack on my homeland, Iran, is in no way acceptable. Israel has...

The ongoing military conflict between Israel and Iran continued to lead newscasts and headlines across the world Monday, as Israel came under renewed missile attacks from Tehran and Israeli forces targeted a series of sites in western and central Iran.
The headlines ranged from the apocalyptic — “World Crisis” screamed the 60-point front page of Britain’s Daily Mirror — to the factual Turkey’s Hürriyet Daily News, which went with “Israel, Iran trade strikes again as conflict rages.”
The mutual strikes pushed the death toll after four days of open conflict close to 250, with Iranian media reporting more than 200 deaths since Israel began its air attacks Friday, and Israel’s official death toll now topping 20.
The conflict also topped newscasts worldwide with all-news channels — including BBC Worldwide and Sky News in the U.K., France’s France 24 and Germany’s Deutsche Welle TV — providing rolling coverage and regular updates from correspondents on the ground.

Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing life behind bars if found guilty at his ongoing sex-trafficking trial, but old pal Donald Trump on Friday hinted he could be the “All About the Benjamins” performer’s pardoning guardian angel — maybe.
“I would certainly look at the facts if I think somebody was mistreated, whether they like me or don’t like me,” Trump said in the Oval Office when asked if he would pardon Combs. “It wouldn’t have any impact on me,” Trump added, teasing the situation out as he loves to do.
Listening to his defense lawyer Brian Steel cross-exam his former personal assistant “Mia,” Combs was in court in New York City today as he has been for almost every hearing since being arrested last fall and since the criminal trial started May 12.

It’s fair to say that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is one of the biggest success stories of 2025. It’s a turn-based RPG developed by Sandfall Interactive, featuring a dark fantasy setting that serves as a stunning backdrop for the expedition’s task to take over the Paintress.
Right upon its release, Expedition 33 achieved acclaim from both critics and gamers alike. It has shipped millions of units so far and continues to break records. One of the most unique aspects of the RPG is its design language, developed under the studio’s Creative Director, Guillaume Broche, who’s a big-time fan of Persona 5.
How Guillaume Broche’s love for Persona 5 shaped Expedition 33
When you first dive into Expedition 33, you will immediately notice its turn-based combat that feels similar to modern Persona games. There’s everything: cinematic camera movement, straightforward Ui that assigns actions to various buttons, and other options.

The political world just got a dash of reality TV-level chaos, after conservative commentator Candace Owens dipped her hands into the pot. While she was previously sharing her opinion on Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively’s legal drama, as Owens recently attacked the French President, Emmanuel Macron’s wife Brigitte Macron, things spiraled out of control.
Turns out, Candace Owens dropped a wild 40-minute video accusing Brigitte Macron of secretly being transgender, with zero evidence. Owens even hinted that the French President himself was threatening legal action. And just when things couldn’t get messier, a viral video showed the French First Lady slapping the President in the face during a trip to Vietnam.

French President Emmanuel Macron, 47, has addressed the viral video of his wife, Brigitte Macron, 72, slapping him in the face.
While Macron was on the first leg of his Southeast Asia tour, as he began to depart from a plane in Vietnam, a short clip was captured of the aircraft door opening, Macron in the doorway, and Brigitte abruptly appearing to shove or slap him. Macron looked shocked upon impact but quickly composed himself to wave to the press. As the two left the aircraft, Macron offered his arm to his wife, but she coldly refused, opting for the railing’s support instead.
On Monday, a source reported to CNN that it was nothing more than a “moment of togetherness” for the couple and claimed, “It was a moment when the president and his wife were unwinding one last time before the trip began, playfully teasing each other.”

French President Emmanuel Macron wasn’t kidding when he told Variety the country would fight to get “Emily in Paris” back to France after the hit Netflix show’s Roman escapade.
Netflix boss Ted Sarandos was one of the few top U.S. players invited by Macron to take part in the eighth edition of Choose France, a summit dedicated to promoting the country’s attractiveness to draw investments. Held on May 19 at Versailles, the event marked the first time Choose France included a focus on cinema and audiovisual.
While the summit’s cultural program was initiated well before U.S. President Trump proposed a 100% tariff on foreign films amid rising tensions between French and U.S. guilds, it turned out to be an auspicious timing for a transatlantic meeting. Since little is known about Trump’s plan so far, attendees continued to focus on increasing France’s piece of the production pie.

French President Emmanuel Macron has slammed the Russian foreign ministry’s conspiracy that the leaders of Europe were doing cocaine together on a train into Ukraine over the weekend.
A train with Ukraine’s European allies was headed into Kyiv for a meeting on Saturday morning with President Volodymyr Zelensky and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
European leaders have frequently been accused of cocaine use by Russian officials and bloggers, a strategic attempt to discredit those who oppose Russian President Vladimir Putin’s war on Ukraine.
The rumors of drug use stem from a video in which Macron picks up a tissue at a table while Friedrich Merz, the German chancellor, retrieves a coffee stirrer. Sir Keir Starmer can be seen smiling at the table.

In director Dominik Moll’s superb 2022 police thriller, The Night of the 12th, the focus was on French detectives pursuing a vicious killer who was forever out of reach. The closer they came to nabbing him, the more he got away, leaving them to turn in circles year after year during a long, existential quest that left none of them unscathed.
In that movie, the cops were flawed human beings and clearly chauvinistic (there was only one woman on the squad), but they were still the good guys. In Dossier 137, a piercing slow-burn examination of police brutality, the tables have turned and the cops have become the criminals, making us question the very notion of policing in a France racked by social unrest and class division. Made with the same laser-cut precision as his previous work, but with a greater emphasis on procedure than before, Moll’s new thriller...

This is a film about questions. It’s about the official business of asking them, the new ones that instantly supplant answered ones and the squashed ones that poison all chances of social equality. An answer that German-French director Dominik Moll is happy to supply, however, is in response to Inspector Stéphanie Bertrand (Léa Drucker) as she talks to her teenage son. “Why does everyone hate the police?,” she asks as he looks at her from bed, ashamed of her profession.
“Dossier 137” is a dramatization of a specific case of police brutality that took place in Paris in 2018, during what is known as the Yellow Vests protests. Although it takes some time to show its hand, by the end “Acab” would work as its tagline — well, “McAb” with its leading lady as the reason to change the word “all” to “most.”

Alongside physical infrastructure, improving and augmenting the local workforce is a key pillar of French president Emmanuel Macron’s France 2030 plan, his 30 billion euro ($34 billion) roadmap for investment and innovation.
“Top-tier technicians are the foundation of the entire French ecosystem,” says Arnaud Roland, who oversees the France 2030 project for the national film agency Cnc. “That’s why professional training programs are integrated into every aspect of our modernization efforts. Our competitive edge goes beyond locations; it lies in the combination of diverse landscapes, modern infrastructure, and, most importantly, highly adaptable crews.”
As France 2030 targets doubling the workforce in animation and VFX, public investment covers every stage of the creative process — from scriptwriting and costume design to construction and compositing. A recent beneficiary of this funding, the Paris film school La Fémis, will soon launch a new course teaching designers to blend traditional techniques with the LED-wall technologies required for virtual production.

2025 is going to go down as one of the best years for gaming. We’re barely into May, and we’ve already gotten multiple hit Aaa games, and the most recent hit has been Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. With over a million copies sold in just days and massive praise from critics and players, its origin story is as unlikely as its rapid rise.
What’s funny about the success of Expedition 33 is that the team that made it mainly consists of developers who used to work at Ubisoft. “Vladimir, Stop!”
These were the feeble words of a cowardly blowhard, whose failure to bring the Russo-Ukrainian War into line with his imagined reality has begun to leave an impression on the one thing that matters most to President Donald Trump: his own ego.
Trump has never understood the war in Ukraine, and as a result he has never had a meaningful plan for ending it.
But for this president, failure is always someone else’s fault. In the Trump White House, the buck stops with Joe Biden. Or the “stolen” 2020 election.

The funeral of Pope Francis solemnly took place Saturday morning in St. Peter’s square drawing roughly 200,000 people, including 50 heads of state, 10 reigning monarchs and throngs of global media outlets providing coverage of the ritual expected to draw billions of viewers.
Mourners gave Pope Francis his final salute on a sunny morning six days after his death, at 88, on Easter Monday. Since Wednesday, more than 120,000 faithful had lined up in St. Peter’s Basilica through Friday to pay their respects.
In keeping with his stated wish to simplify the papal funeral rites, Pope Francis’ body had been lying in a wooden casket at St. Peter’s, having done away with the tradition of three coffins — two made of cypress and oak, and one of lead.
Former U.S. President Joe Biden and former first lady Jill Biden were among the first to arrive for pope’s funeral in St. Peter’s Square.
