Former ’Doctor Who’ Star's Brand-New British Crime Thriller Gets an Exciting First Image
Image
Jodie Whittaker's stint as the Thirteenth Doctor in Doctor Who may have been controversial and sadly led to a drop in ratings, but fans were pleased to see her return to the role in the most recent finale, alongside Ncuti Gatwa's departing fifteenth incarnation. A hugely talented actress, Whittaker has continued to deliver top performances despite the mixed reception to her Doctor Who era, with her recent starring role in Toxic Town alongside the likes of Aimee Lou Wood and Bridgerton's Claudia Jessie illustrative of this.

Now, fans of Whittaker can officially get their first glimpse of her next project, a six-part British crime thriller in which the Broadchurch star appears alongside Vigil lead Suranne Jones, who is herself a Doctor Who alum. The series is titled Frauds and is scheduled to hit ITV later this year, although an exact release date is yet to be announced. The...

Underrated ‘Doctor Who’ Companion Has an Epic Return Plan in Mind
Image
At a time when the future of Doctor Who remains so uncertain, it is easy to look back through time at the timey-wimey genius to have come before. In the modern era, the likes of Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, Matt Smith, Peter Capaldi, Jodie Whittaker, and, most recently, Ncuti Gatwa, have held the key to the Tardis and endeared themselves to millions of fans. However, Doctor Who would be nothing without its companions, with one of the most underrated in the modern era hinting at how a return could be on the cards.

During a recent episode of the podcast Making a Scene, Russell T. Davies was in conversation with comedian David Walliams and former companion Matt Lucas, who played Nardole on the series, and suggested any potential return was doomed to fail, saying, "You're kind of doomed. I worry about Nardole being left there because the Cybermen are on their way.

’Doctor Who’s Ncuti Gatwa Reveals His Biggest Regret About His Controversial Run on the Show
Image
One of the most controversial television talking points of 2025 so far has been Doctor Who Season 2 and its strange ending. After returning showrunner Russell T. Davies used nostalgia to set up the promise of many an intriguing twist, it seemed the final episode dropped most of these in favor of a rushed finish that, although defended by some, left many more with a sour taste in their mouths.

So controversial was the ending that the Disney era of the timey-wimey series seems all but over, with no confirmation on the show's future yet announced. This comes in light of the surprise and reportedly re-shot ending of Season 2 that saw the titular Time Lord's latest incarnation, Ncuti Gatwa, regenerate into Billie Piper, marking her third return to the series in earnest. This has left many to speculate about Gatwa's exit, with the man himself recently telling the BBC's The One Show...

Ncuti Gatwa Reveals What He Regrets About Doctor Who
Image
Ncuti Gatwa played the Fifteenth Doctor for a mere two seasons of Doctor Who. Now, he's revealed what he regrets about his time as the titular Time Lord.

While appearing on The One Show, via ScreenRant, he was asked about Doctor Who. Gatwa said he regretted never getting to face off against the Doctor's most iconic enemies. "I never got to fight a Dalek. A Dalek or a Cyberman," he said. "I mean, just the crux of Doctor Who. So, might do that! Might go fight a Dalek!"

Virtually every Doctor has gotten to fight a Dalek or Cyberman or both - the one exception being Paul McGann's Eighth Doctor, who only appeared in the Doctor Who TV movie. However, he did get to fight them in the Big Finish audio adventures.

Gatwa never got to fight iconic baddie The Master either. He got to fight The Rani, who is another rogue Time Lord,...

Billie Piper Recalls “Very Last-Minute” Invite For ‘Doctor Who’ Return: “Really Fun To Film”
Image
As Doctor Who plots a return with the eponymous Time Lord seemingly taking on the form of a previous companion, Billie Piper is reacquainting herself with the secrets of the universe.

Following the Season 15 finale of the rebooted BBC One/Disney+ series, in which the Ncuti Gatwa‘s 15th Doctor regenerates to take the form of Piper’s Rose Tyler, the actress recently recalled how she came to return to the Tardis.

“This is such a minefield, I have to really engage with how I answer this,” she said at Florida Supercon. “All I can say is, I was approached very last-minute, and I can’t talk about in what capacity, but I found it very emotional to film, and I think it’s a really great ending.”

Noting she had to keep the finale twist a secret, Piper explained, “I just found it quite moving, and it was really...

Ncuti Gatwa Reveals A Major Regret About His Time As The Fifteenth Doctor
Image
Ncuti Gatwa has revealed one of his biggest regrets from his time as the Fifteenth Doctor on Doctor Who. When Doctor Who returned in 2023 following the 60th anniversary specials, it seemed like the start of a new era: Disney's co-production gave the show a previously unheard-of budget, and Ncuti Gatwa's casting was undeniably historic, injecting the show with a fresh, frenetic energy.

With former showrunner Russell T. Davies back at the helm, there was nothing the new Doctor seemingly couldn't accomplish, except, as it turns out, fight Doctor Who's most iconic villains. During an interview on the UK program The One Show (via RadioTimes.com), Gatwa revealed his biggest regret about his two-season stint as the Doctor:

"I never got to fight a Dalek. A Dalek or a Cyberman. I mean, just the crux of Doctor Who. So, might do that! Might go fight a Dalek!"

Rumor: Billie Piper's Stint As The New Doctor Who Is Expected To Be Disappointingly Short
Image
Russell T Davies's return to Doctor Who was not the rousing success most fans had expected it to be. Ratings steadily declined throughout both seasons, and while the BBC's partnership with Disney+ helped give the series a big budget feel, Davies's "woke" storylines split opinions and the show never really found a huge international audience.

The Doctor Who franchise has often been praised for its diversity. However, many felt that the showrunner was being too heavy-handed with storylines about incels, same-sex relationships, and non-binary aliens.

We still don't know whether Disney+ will continue to invest in the series, though it seems doubtful. Rumours are already swirling about the British broadcaster seeking a new creative partner, and a fresh start without Davies at the helm.

Ncuti Gatwa bid farewell to Doctor Who after just two seasons and a handful of specials, passing the baton to Billie Piper. She played companion...

Doctor Who’s Billie Piper Raises Eyebrows With Surprising Comments About Her Regeneration
Image
In the closing seconds of the Doctor Who finale episode "The Reality War", Ncuti Gatwa regenerated. Fans weren't expecting that to happen, and they definitely didn't expect the Doctor to regenerate into Billie Piper, the actress who played Rose Tyler in season one of the revived show.

There has been a lot of discussion around the shock regeneration. Piper wasn't credited as "The Doctor" in the closing credits of "The Reality War", when all other new Doctors have been. So fans aren't sure if she's actually the Doctor, or something else entirely - Rose herself, maybe, or her powerful alter-ego Bad Wolf. Some fans have also criticized the development, frustrated that the regeneration seemed to have been done so haphazardly - and now Piper herself has spoken out about it at Florida Supercon 2025, via Radio Times.

When Piper was asked how the regeneration came about, she was very cagey about it.

Doctor Who Star Defends Controversial Exit: 'The Writing Was Beautiful'
Image
Belinda Chandra may be one of the most controversial Doctor Who companions. She grabbed attention for not being afraid to call out the Doctor. But now that her time on the show is over, some fans believe Belinda was an example of wasted potential -- and actor Varada Sethu disagrees.

Sethu told MTV UK that she felt some of the criticism about the way Belinda was written out was "unfair." In fact, she was a big fan of how Belinda's arc ended. "I think the writing was beautiful. It think it was tied up in a way that was perfect, I cannot think of a better way of completing that circle," she explained.

However, Sethu added that she understood where the fans were coming from. "But it’s always like, 'Oh, I can’t believe I won’t get to see Belinda [again],'" she added. "It’s a frustration that...

Doctor Who Star Pushes Back On Their Divisive Exit In Season 15 Finale
Image
Varada Sethu shares her reaction to some of the criticism about her Doctor Who exit. Sethu appeared in one episode of season 14, but was added to the cast of Doctor Who season 15 as the Doctor's companion, Belinda Chandra. Belinda became an unwilling companion after being saved by the Doctor and only wants to get back to Earth.

The Doctor Who season 15 finale saw Belinda become the mother of a young girl, Poppy. Poppy was created as the result of a wish, which originally had her as the daughter of the Doctor and Belinda. However, after reality is changed, Poppy is shown to still have Belinda as her mother, but a human father. Some viewers found this to be a poor way for Belinda to leave the show, as she had motherhood forced upon her.

In an interview with MTV UK (via RadioTimes), Sethu responds to the criticism around her departure.

After Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor Who Exit, Popular Actor Wants to Play 'Working-Class' Doctor
Image
Doctor Who has a very big vacancy right now -- though former star Ncuti Gatwa was replaced by Billie Piper, no one has confirmed that Piper is playing the next Doctor. In fact, Russell T Davies has stated he "[has] no idea."

All this speculation has caused a popular British actor to come out and say he'd like to take on the role of the next Doctor. According to The Mirror, Danny Dyer -- who co-starred in Rivals with former Doctor David Tennant -- is interested in the part, and has some ideas for how he'd play it.

“It's such an iconic thing to do,” Dyer said. “It’s almost -- not on the same level -- like James Bond. It’s a character that’s loved by so many.... It gives you an opportunity with Doctor Who, because of the nature of the work, to bring something left-field, something a bit mental,...

Ncuti Gatwa recalls connecting with Matt Smith on 'exhausting' Doctor Who experience
Image
It's been a few months since the fifteenth series of Doctor Who finished its run on Disney+, and now series star Ncuti Gatwa is opening up about his experience on the show. He even shares how he and former Doctor Who star Matt Smith connected over their similar roles. If you weren't aware, Smith portrayed the Eleventh Doctor while Gatwa portrayed the Fifteenth Doctor. However, they did not appear on the series at the same time.

News of Gatwa's casting as the Fifteenth Doctor broke out in May 2022. He would star in the role in both Doctor Who series 14 and series 15 on Disney+ before stepping away from the part in May 2025. At the time of his exit, it was unclear why exactly he was departing the British sci-fi series. But in July 2025, Gatwa finally addressed the speculation.

Benedict Cumberbatch at an event for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014)
Benedict Cumberbatch says Hollywood is “grossly wasteful” with resources on film and TV projects
Benedict Cumberbatch at an event for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014)
While promoting his new film, Benedict Cumberbatch put in perspective how non-environmentally friendly Hollywood productions tend to be, as he appeared on the Ruthie’s Table 4 podcast. Cumberbatch inevitably fielded questions about being in the Marvel Universe and when he spoke about getting into shape for Doctor Strange, he mentioned how he had to eat five meals a day, plus snacks like boiled eggs, almonds and cheese in between meals in order to bulk up. Cumberbatch admitted how “it’s horrific eating beyond your appetite.”

Reminiscing about his meals got him thinking about how he found Hollywood productions less green. According to Variety, the Sherlock star said, “Going back to responsibility and resourcefulness and sustainability, it’s just like, ‘What am I doing? I could feed a family with the amount I’m eating.’” He would then continue to say,

It’s a grossly wasteful industry. Think about set builds that aren’t recycled,...

‘Doctor Who’ Star, 42, Reveals Why the 2005 Revival Could Never Be Made Today
Image
Thanks to the most recent season of the sci-fi series, it's impossible not to compare the current era of everyone's favorite timey-wimey show, Doctor Who, and the iteration that reintroduced the world to its time and space-travelling antics back in 2005. With both eras helmed by Russell T. Davies, although to entirely different results, Doctor Who's recent trend of leaning heavily into nostalgia has left many yearning for a time when said nostalgia was simply the fresh, new brand of the series.

After bringing back David Tennant and Catherine Tate, fondly remembered as the series' best Doctor/companion partnership, the mission statement of Davies' new era was set, with a heavy dose of the past in an attempt to bring back once-impressive viewing figures favored instead of a vision for the future in a show that has lasted thanks to its embracing of chance. This all culminated in the recent...

Image
There's a lot of uncertainty surrounding Doctor Whoat the moment. After the last installment of Series 15, Episode 8, titled "The Reality War," ended on a regeneration cliffhanger, the direction of the story was unclear.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, BBC Commercial CEO Tom Fussell reaffirmed the studio's commitment to the series. "We're really committed to Doctor Who," he said. "We really want to carry on looking at ways for fans to interact with the brand. We look after the brand, whether it’s at Comic Con, merchandising, or whether it’s the distribution deal we've done."

Despite his positivity, Fussell was unable to emphatically confirm the series' fate. "The BBC and Disney haven't made a decision yet," he explained."When they do, they'll announce it. Doctor Who, the iconic 62-year-old British sci-fi show, has just earned its very first Emmy nomination for the 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards. The season finale revealed Gatwa’s Fifteenth Doctor regenerating again, this time into Piper, who played Rose in the initial seasons of the revival. There has been no explanation about the show’s future.

While Gatwa’s tenure was controversial and was filled with criticisms, from the storytelling to Gatwa’s casting as a queer Black man. However, the actor claimed that he was too old for the part and hence decided to step away (via Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg).

Because I’m getting old and my body is tired. I’ve now just started doing some ballet, so I’m making some good decisions here. It’s the most amazing job in the world. It’s a job that any actor would dream of. And because it’s so good,...

‘Doctor Who’: BBC Studios Chief Says Disney Is “Key Partner” As Co-Pro Deal Hangs In Balance
Image
BBC Studios is “really committed to Doctor Who and is continuing to look at ways in which we can bring the show to fans,” according to its CEO Tom Fussell.

Speaking after the publication of the BBC Annual Report, Fussell stressed the “crucial” nature of BBC Studios’ partnership with Disney along with the strength of Doctor Who, coming with the BBC-Disney+ Doctor Who deal hanging in the balance and following eyebrow-raising comments from ex-Doctor Ncuti Gatwa over the weekend.

“Fans love the Doctor Who brand,” Fussell said today. “It’s been that way since before I was in short trousers.”

Fussell celebrated Disney as a “key partner of ours” that works with BBC Studios on hits including Bluey, Dancing with the Stars, Tucci in Italy and “a decade’s worth of natural history.” “They are a crucial partner and we share a lot of the same values so I...

Why Ncuti Gatwa Left Doctor Who After Two Seasons
Image
"Doctor Who" has famously set up a perfect system to keep going as long as the ratings allow. Thanks to the regeneration ability of the Doctor, the series can simply kill and resurrect the main character whenever the actor departs the role for one reason or another. This has turned out to be an excellent, periodic way to shake up the status quo, as new actors (and showrunners) bring their own spin on the long-living role while keeping the show's most familiar traits intact.

Sometimes, an actor occupies the role for quite a long time. For instance, Tom Baker, who played the Fourth Doctor from 1974 to 1984, appeared in no less than 178 episodes, and three other classic "Doctor Who" era actors also have three-digit episode counts under their belt. Other times, a Doctor's tenure is so short that it seems the fans barely got to know this version of the character.

Ncuti Gatwa on Leaving ‘Doctor Who’: ‘It Takes a Lot Out of You — Physically, Emotionally, Mentally’
Image
Ncuti Gatwa is opening up about why he left “Doctor Who” after only two seasons.

In a new interview on the BBC’s “Sunday With Laura Kuenssberg,” the “Barbie” and “Sex Education” star was asked his reasoning for stepping away from the iconic sci-fi show.

“Because I’m getting old and my body was tired,” Gatwa said, adding that the show “takes a lot out of you — physically, emotionally, mentally. So it was time.”

However, when Kuenssberg questioned if he’d ever return to the Tardis one day — like David Tennant did recently — Gatwa quipped, “Never say never.”

It was revealed that Gatwa’s time as the Doctor was over in May, during the finale of the show’s second season as a co-production between the BBC and Disney+. Gatwa’s Doctor was regenerated into Billie Piper, who previously played companion Rose Tyler in 2005 and 2006. What Piper’s return means...

Doctor Who Star Ncuti Gatwa, 32, Says He Quit The Troubled Series Because "I'm Getting Old"
Image
Doctor Who's future is very much up in the air, with neither the BBC nor Disney+ willing to confirm whether reports that their partnership has ended are correct.

We'd imagine an official split will happen after The War Between the Land and the Sea's release, as the spin-off marks what's likely to be the last collaboration between the British broadcaster and global streaming platform. Big changes are obviously on the horizon, and rumours continue to swirl that the BBC is in talks with multiple potential new streaming partners.

Whatever happens, we will eventually get a new Doctor. Ncuti Gatwa departed the series after only two seasons and a couple of Christmas specials, though we've heard rumblings he would have stuck around for a third batch of episodes had the Time Lord's fate not been left in limbo.

Appearing on Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg this weekend, Gatwa was asked...

Ncuti Gatwa Says He Quit 'Doctor Who' Because He Is "Getting Old"
Image
Doctor Whostar Ncuti Gatwa shocked just about everyone when he departed the long-running sci-fi series via an unannounced regeneration after only two seasons as the Fifteenth Doctor, especially given the enthusiasm he initially expressed over securing the role. The Rwandan-Scottish actor has now opened up about his decision to cut his Tardis tenure short. However, his explanation is not going down too well with fans, who appear to be suspicious of the reasons that he has cited for his unexpected exit from the iconic show.

Gatwa made his hotly-anticipated debut in Doctor Who during the show's final 60th-anniversary special episode with David Tennant. His casting as the new Doctor was met with resounding applause from fans of the series, which continued throughout his run in the two seasons that followed. He delivered his final performance at the end of Season 2 (aka Season 15) when he passed his Time Lord baton to Billie Piper,...

Doctor Who insider not optimistic about the show's future
Image
Back when the BBC struck a deal with Disney to bring Doctor Who to Disney+, allowing the show to be made with American money, it was very exciting. The future of the Whoniverse looked brighter than ever, but ultimately, the fresh lease on life was short-lived. The show couldn't drive enough viewership to appease the immense expectations of Disney, and now the House of Mouse deal is in limbo.

Ncuti Gatwa's run as the Fifteenth Doctor was largely hit and miss. By the end of his second season, he regenerated into our new Sixteenth Doctor, played by none other than Billie Piper, who previously played the Doctor's companion Rose Tyler. The cliffhanger was pretty enormous, and fans are desperate to see how and why the Doctor took on Rose's face. As for when that happen, or indeed whether it'll occur with the support of Disney, remains to be seen.

Ncuti Gatwa Reveals Reason He Left Doctor Who
Image
Doctor Who has faced uncertainty as of late. While Ncuti Gatwa won acclaim for his performance as the Fifteenth Doctor, he was gone before audiences had the chance to really know him.

In the last episode aired, "The Reality War", he regenerated into Billie Piper - but no-one, not even showrunner Russell T. Davies, seems to know if Piper is playing the Doctor or a totally different entity. Fans are confused, and even old Doctors are doubting. Why did Gatwa leave in the first place? Now he's answered that question on a BBC show, via Radio Times.

Gawta appeared on Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg and told Kuenssberg about why he decided to step down from the role. It seems it was more for health reasons than anything else. "I’m getting old and my body was tired," Gatwa said. "I’ve now just started doing some ballet, so I’m making some good decisions here.

Doctor Who Is Doomed: Over‑Reliance on David Tennant Is Killing the Show
Image
Doctor Who and its fans’ obsession with David Tennant might as well be the death of the show. Since Tennant played the Tenth Doctor in the BBC revival of the series, every other actor has been compared to the star, who is a fan favorite. The actor has returned as the Fourteenth Doctor and has been associated with the franchise in various ways.

A recent podcast associated all Doctors in the ‘New Who’ era with David Tennant or the other, proving how obsessed the fanbase is with the actor’s iteration (via Come Along Pond Podcast).

Here’s who the New Who Doctors are: the guy who regenerated into David Tennant; David Tennant; the guy who regenerated out of David Tennant; and then the guy who featured in a David Tennant episode; the woman who regenerates into David Tennant; the guy who regenerated out of David Tennant, and he’s...

11 Years Later, Peter Capaldi’s First Doctor Who Episode Is Still Haunted by a Ridiculous LGBTQ+ Controversy
Image
Peter Capaldi joined Doctor Who as the Twelfth Doctor in 2014, but his first episode got several complaints due to one particular scene. The series 8 premiere, ‘Deep Breath’, saw Capaldi emerge as the new Doctor after Matt Smith and investigate a conspiracy with Clara. Written by Steven Moffat, the show generally got positive reviews.

However, several reported to the Office of Communications about one scene, which saw a kiss between the lizard-esque Madame Vastra and her human on-screen wife Jenny Flint. Among the seven million viewers, six reportedly complained about the kiss, with them accusing the show of promoting a ‘gay agenda’ (via The Independent).

It just seems (executive producer Steven Moffat) is on some weird, lizard-lesbian p*rv trip.

While the episode received generally good reviews, this aspect will forever mar Peter Capaldi’s impressive debut. However, such controversies are nothing new to Doctor Who.

Before Ncuti Gatwa, Peter Capaldi...

Doctor Who's Ncuti Gatwa Has A Shocking Response About The 16th Doctor Following Billie Piper Twist
Image
As Doctor Who prepares to introduce its next leading star, Ncuti Gatwa has a surprising comment about the Sixteenth Doctor's identity. Gatwa played the Fifteenth Doctor for two seasons, taking over after David Tennant's stunning reintroduction as the Fourteenth Doctor. After he ushered in a new era for Doctor Who, Gatwa said goodbye to the series with a shocking regeneration.

Instead of regenerating into the next clear star of the show, Gatwa's follow-up proved to be a casting twist. Billie Piper (Rose Tyler) appears to have become the next Doctor, as her face emerged after the most recent regeneration. The decision has resulted in an outcry from viewers and stars alike, who argue that it is simply stunt casting.

In an interview with BBC Radio 4 Today (via RadioTimes.com), Gatwa expressed that he is not actually certain about whom the next Doctor will be. While he insists that...

“It’s about an alien who is cool”: The Same Reason Matt Smith Uses to Defend Doctor Who Also Applies to Superman in 2025
Image
Matt Smith came to the defense of Doctor Who after the last two seasons starring Ncuti Gatwa received a ton of hate. Gatwa’s casting got severe criticism, with many reportedly even making racist and queerphobic comments. The actor exited the role after two seasons, with the future of the show now uncertain.

Smith defended the show and its direction years after he left the role back in 2012 and was replaced by Peter Capaldi. Talking about the backlash faced by Gatwa and returning showrunner Russell T. Davies on the new seasons with Disney+, Smith said (via The Times),

Those debates reduce it to a place that it doesn’t need to be in. People that attack Doctor Who blow my mind. It’s about an alien who is cool and travels around the universe saving civilisations – what’s not to love?

The statement seems similar to what James Gunn said...

Ncuti Gatwa Breaks Silence On Billie Piper's Doctor Who Casting
Image
Doctor Who is going through an uncertain time right now. The last season ended on a cliffhanger, with Ncuti Gatwa's Doctor regenerating into Billie Piper, an actress who'd already played a starring role on the show.

The trouble is, what Ncuti Gatwa regenerated into may not have been the Doctor as audiences know them. Doctor Who's cliffhanger may not be resolved immediately as the show wasn't picked up for new episodes. The credits of the final episode read "And introducing Billie Piper" rather than "And introducing Billie Piper as the Doctor." Opinions are strongly divided about whether Piper is playing a new version of the Doctor or something entirely different. Gatwa himself has weighed in.

The actor teased Doctor Who's future when speaking to BBC Radio 4, viaRadio Times. "I've finished playing Doctor Who, we all saw the gold sparkle - or did we, I don't know?" he said.

Doctor Who Fans Are Being Dealt Another Blow This Month
Image
Doctor Who fans have been having a rough time of it recently. Russell T Davies' return as showrunner was meant to bring in a whole new, long, era - but after a handful of specials and two seasons with Ncuti Gatwa, the show seems to be going on hiatus.

Whovians everywhere are in limbo now. The most recent season ended with a regeneration as Ncuti Gatwa turned into Billie Piper - but no one, not even Davies himself, seems to know if Piper is the next Doctor or not. And now, on the heels of that, there's more bad news. Doctor Who is leaving HBO Max (previously known as Max) come July 31.

HBO Max only had the rebooted series, so everything from the Ninth Doctor to the Fifteenth - but there were some absolute gems of episodes in there. For example, fans could enjoy Dalek, Doomsday, Blink, Midnight, and Vincent...

Why August 1 Is Set To Be Another Rough Day For Doctor Who Fans
Image
American Doctor Who fans are facing a tough day on August 1. Despite the return of noted Doctor Who fanatic Russell T. Davies as showrunner and the show's recent global distribution via Disney+, Doctor Who's fate has never felt so uncertain. During times like these, it's nice to revisit a period when the future of Doctor Who was undeniably bright, but sadly, even that will soon be harder to do.

HBO Max (recently renamed from Max) has announced that Doctor Who's first rebooted series, which aired on the BBC between 2005 and 2021, will no longer be available on the streaming service from August 1.

Doctor Who will be removed from HBO Max on July 31. This means HBO Max subscribers will no longer have access to iconic episodes from the Ninth to Thirteenth Doctors' eras, including "Midnight," "Vincent and the Doctor," "Silence in the Library," and "Blink."

It's currently unclear where this...

15 Years Later, Doctor Who’s Most Controversial Matt Smith Episode That Flooded BBC With 5,000+ Complaints Still Infuriates Me
Image
One of the best moments in Doctor Who was ruined by the BBC during its first airing fifteen years ago in 2010. The series five episode ‘The Time of Angels’ starred Matt Smith and was written by Steven Moffat, after he took over as the showrunner from Russell T. Davies. The broadcast error reportedly resulted in over 5,000 complaints from audiences to the BBC.

The episode saw Matt Smith’s Doctor deal with a swarm of Weeping Angels ready to attack his companions. During an emotional monologue that was incredibly performed by Smith, an ad banner with an animated Graham Norton appeared smack in the middle, angering many viewers. Norton’s appearance was reportedly to promote the show Over the Rainbow.
