With Wheeler Yuta already in the ring, “Hangman” Adam Page made his entrance for the opening contest of Aew Dynamite–but before Page could even step through the ropes, Yuta struck. Launching a surprise assault, Yuta blindsided the Aew World Champion with a cheap shot from behind, triggering immediate chaos even before the bell rang. Yuta’s early momentum continued with a suicide dive to the outside, but Page swiftly regained control, violently hurling Yuta into the barricade multiple times. Back inside the ring, Page showcased his signature power and precision, blasting Yuta with a fallaway slam and a high boot. He then sent Yuta...

Hook & Jungle Boy Are Odd-Couple Team Aew Fans Didn't Know They Needed
Image
All Elite Wrestling continued to put homegrown stars in positions to succeed to close out 2022, this time giving Hook and Jungle Boy a decent spot in the middle of Dynamite. The December 28 episode of the show, branded New Year's Smash was a solid card through and through, featuring a handful of high-end matches and a few notable storyline progressions. Hook squashed another "local competitor" in Baylum Lynx, but the match itself was secondary to the fallout afterward. What went down after the bell was significantly more interesting than what happened during the bout, and Tony Khan might have found his next tag-team odd couple in Hook and Jungle Boy.

After the Ftw Champion tapped Lynx with Redrum to a noticeable pop, Lee Moriarty, Stokely Hathaway, and Big Bill—formerly Big Cass in WWE—made their way to the ring. Hook gave up plenty of size to Bill but surrendered no ground in the stare-down.

‘Aew Dark: Elevation – Episode 86’ Review
Image
Welcome back to another review of Aew Dark: Elevation, and yes, given how much wrestling we had to cover last week I missed last week’s show! This week features seven matches and a number of big-name stars! We’ve got Ian Riccaboni, Matt Menard and Jose the Assistant on commentary, so let’s get into the review…

Match #1: 10 def. Baron Black

My Thoughts: Baron Black jumped 10 before the bell and 10 totally no-sold it, along with everything else Black tried to throw at him. I do wonder what the plan is for 10… He is being head-hunted by Jose the Assistant on behalf of the Lfi, yet when he gets a decent singles match Aew throw Orange Cassidy into the mix?! Then he goes and has squash matches like this. What is the plan? What It It?!

My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Eddie Kingston and Ortiz def. Russ Myers...

‘Aew: All Out 2022’ PPV Review
Image
Welcome to this review of 2022’s All Out pay-per-view, which once again emanated from Chicago and saw home town boy Cm Punk challenge once again for the Aew World Title and a couple of surprises up its sleeve – but No, I don’t mean new additions to the roster! Let’s get into it…

Zero Hour: Match #1: Aaa Mixed Tag Team Championship Match – Ortiz & Ruby Soho def. Sammy Guevara & Tay Melo

My Thoughts: This started out so well, with Ortiz and Soho running Sammy over with a gold cart in a brilliant call-back to Sammy’s experience with said vehicle. Ortiz looked like a machine in this match, delivering some strong, hard moves to combat Guevara’s speed and agility. This match moved fast, with only a brief lull in action whilst it looked like, the teams recovered from the ridiculous fast-paced, high impact in-ring action! Wrong team won...

‘Aew: Dark’ Review (June 14th 2022)
Image
Another episode of Aew: Dark, which this week was apparently taped around an episode of Rampage so we get a decent crowd and bigger names on the card. Let’s join Taz and Excalibur, commentators for Dark as usual, and see what this week’s Eight matches have in store… Those match counts are getting bigger and bigger the further we get from Double or Nothing.

Match #1: Qt Marshall def. Alan Angels

My Thoughts: Wtf?! We closed this week’s Elevation with Dark Order versus The Factory and open this week’s Dark with Alan Angels versus Qt Marshall… Running out of ideas much? I’m really starting to wonder what the hell the plan is, if there is a plan, with these recurring Dark Order/The Factory matches? Feuding on YouTube shows but not referencing them outside of YouTube. Hell, I’m expecting to see both teams start...

‘Aew: Double or Nothing 2022’ PPV Review
Image
It’s one of Aew’s biggest pay per views of the year, it’s Double or Nothing 2022; which was broadcast live from Las Vegas and was not without controversy – with Mjf reportedly no-showing a Fan Fest event And booking a flight home that started rumours he would no-show this PPV as well! We open with a Buy-In show that sees Danhausen and Hook team up for the first, and hopefully Not for the last, time!

The Buy-In Match #1: Hookhausen (Hook & Danhausen) def. Tony Nese & “Smart” Mark Sterling

My Thoughts: The match Everyone was waiting for! It’s incredibly interesting that two, technically, meme wrestlers in Hook and Danhausen are two of the most compelling in Aew. Danhausen took most of the punishment in this match, keeping Hook looking strong. Danhausen can take a loss, and take the punishment but Hook’s mystique is the fact he’s an undefeated badass.
