Fox News has announced a significant expansion into new media with a licensing agreement for the podcast “Ruthless,” which will join the network’s growing slate of audio programs such as “Will Cain Country.”

The move is part of Fox News Media’s broader strategy to expand its reach across digital and podcast platforms as audiences continue shifting away from traditional media consumption.

The announcement was made by Suzanne Scott, the CEO of Fox News Media, who also revealed that Porter Berry will assume additional responsibilities overseeing the network’s new media initiatives. Berry, who currently serves as president and editor-in-chief of Fox News Digital, will report to Scott and Fox News President and Executive Editor Jay Wallace while retaining his current digital duties.

Ever since its launch in 1996, Fox News has enjoyed a unique history of minting top talk personalities, ranging from Sean Hannity to Megyn Kelly to Greg Gutfeld. Now, the Fox Corp. unit is going to bring an outside entity into its empire.

As part of a licensing agreement, the popular “Ruthless” podcast, led by a trio of G.O.P. insiders and a fourth who likes to call himself “Comfortably Smug,” will align itself with Fox News Media’s suite of podcasts, which include programs led by Dana Perino and Brian Kilmeade. Fox News executives may see more of this activity on the horizon. In addition to their keynote addresses, Bird and Ramsey will offer master classes and Giacchino will perform a concert of his work during the weeklong event.

Peter Ramsey, who won an Oscar this year for co-directing the hit animated film “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” has joined the long list of high-level speakers for the 2019 View Conference, which runs from Oct. 21-25 in Turin, Italy.
