Benett Vilmányi and Petra Hartai lead the cast of the filmmaker’s first feature, which is produced by Filmteam with the support of the Hungarian Nfi’s Incubator programme. If, upon closing your eyes, you could see through someone else’s and the world turned out to be a far better place, you’d be left with some far-reaching ethical dilemmas: such is the idea behind Mátyás Szabó’s Wandering Leaves (Vándorló levelek), whose filming has now entered the home straight having kicked off on 17 March in Budapest.
