Netflix held it’s annual global fan event, Tudum Live on Saturday evening (May 31) and it was quite the star-studded affair.

The big event was held at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, Calif., with tons of Netflix stars from both scripted and unscripted programming, including Jenna Ortega, Kerry Washington and Sofia Carson, who served as the host of the evening!

Talent agent Brian Wittenstein is launching a new company, Prototype Talent Agency, which he is starting with many of his existing clients, including Italia Ricci, WWE’s “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes and Piper Curda.

The move comes a month and a half after Wittenstein exited Hyperion Talent Agency following misconduct allegations.

Netflix’s first fully-produced tween sitcom has been renewed for a second season, the streaming service said Monday.

The comedy tells the story of freshman best friends Alexa Mendoza (Paris Berelc) and Katie Cooper (Isabel May). Alexa’s high school experience is complicated by the fact that she’s undergoing cancer treatment, but her gregarious personality never falters. Alexa and Katie go through the ups and downs of high school, trying to fit in during those turbulent years.

The first season of the series launched on March 23. The multi-camera sitcom follows the titular best friends through their freshman year of high school. Alexa (Paris Berelc) is undergoing cancer treatment, but makes it through thanks to her outgoing personality and the help of her best friend Katie (Isabel May). At times they’re left feeling like outsiders, during a period when what seems to matter most is fitting in. Tiffani Thiessen stars as Lori, Alexa’s determined and protective mother. The series also stars Emery Kelly, Eddie Shin, Jolie Jenkins, and Finn Carr.

Heather Wordham created the series and will take over as showrunner on Season 2. Her previous credits include “Hannah Montana” and “Reba.” Matthew Carlson was the showrunner on Season 1.

News of the series’ renewal comes just days after Netflix axed the high school comedy series “Everything Sucks!
