Jimmy Cohen is a director and editor from Mexico City. He graduated with honors from Centro University and studied at NYU and ECAM. His feature debut, The Third Path, participated at Cinelatino Toulouse, La Habana, and other festivals. His second film, Omar y Gloria, premiered at the Play-Doc Festival in Spain and was screened in more than 20 festivals worldwide.
As an editor, he has worked on a variety of projects, from documentary to fiction, including feature films like Alchemy of the Spirit, King of the Party, and the TV show Bloody Famous. His documentary work includes Kurosawa's Grave, Paraiso Perdido, and a two-episode series for National Geographic.
Jimmy is also the co-producer, co-writer, and editor of the documentary Paddle Out, which premiered at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival 2025 (SBIFF).
Beyond film, his work extends to music videos and video art. He co-created Zehel, an experimental music project that lasted 10 years, performing in Mexico, New York, and touring throughout Latin America. His other music credits include producing an ongoing psytrance experience called Grushenko.
