I think all of us Outer Banks fans are still not over the loss of our beloved JJ Maybank after the heartbreaking season 4 finale, and one of his fellow co-stars also feels the same. As filming for the fifth and final season of the Netflix hit has officially begun, things feel different on set without Rudy Pankow, as revealed by one of the stars.

Speaking with Extra TV recently to promote her new movie I Know What You Did Last Summer, Madelyn Cline, who plays Sarah Cameron on Obx, talked about how being on set this time is "really strange" because they "shot four seasons with him." And now he's not a part of this final leg of the Pogue journey. She continued on to say that "there's a part of the dynamic that isn't there anymore."

Netflix reports that production is officially underway on the upcoming fifth and final season of Outer Banks in Charleston, South Carolina. Season four premiered in October 2024, and season five is expected to debut in 2026.

No, Pankow won't be traveling to remote and exotic locales in search of gold, but he will be joining the latest adaptation from It Ends With Us author, Colleen Hoover.

According to a report from Deadline, Pankow has been cast in Reminders of Him, which is based on Hoover's best-selling book of the same name. He joins a stacked cast that also includes Watcher and Longlegs star Maika Monroe and Don't Tell My Mom The Babysitter's Dead star Tyriq Withers.

Hoover and Laurie Levine wrote the screenplay for the film, according to the report. Reminders of Him tells the story of Kenna, a young mother who tries to re-enter her young daughter's life after serving time in prison.

The Fashion Trust U.S. Awards, which are in its third year, are put on by the non-profit Fashion Trust U.S., which is dedicated to supporting emerging designers. Winners of the awards receive cash prizes up to $200,000, as well as access to mentorship from industry leaders.

Japanese entertainment conglomerate Avex has named Brandon Silverstein as the CEO of its newly-created Avex Music Group, the company announced Tuesday morning.

As part of the deal, Avex, which previously invested in Silverstein’s company S10, has acquired S10’s music publishing catalog, the company said, adding that it had increased its investment in S10 Management as well. The company said its investment in the management business gives Avex the largest share in the company, alongside Silverstein and Roc Nation.

The investment reflects Avex’s increased focus on the U.S. market, having established S10 Publishing as a joint venture with Silverstein back in 2020. Silverstein’s record label S10 records is not part of the agreement will remain independent, Avex said. The former Avex USA team will consolidate under Avex Music Group, and Silverstein will get an equity stake in the company and join its board of directors.

Viewers experienced a whirlwind of emotions after Outer Banks aired its Season 4 – Part 2 on November 7. The final episode saw Rudy Pankow's JJ and Madison Bailey's Kiara finally getting the Blue Crown they had been looking for and running for it in Morocco.

Suddenly, JJ's biological father — J. Anthony Crane's Chandler Groff — grabbed Kiara and threatened her with a knife, forcing his son to give him the treasure. He soon fatally stabbed JJ and left him to die in Kiara's arms.

"Take care of the others. I love you, Kie," JJ told Kiara before taking his last breath.

"It's something that's engineered to be gratuitous," showrunner Shannon Burke said of the death in an interview with EW.

Paul Teal, who played Josh in the teen drama series One Tree Hill, has died after a battle with cancer. The actor joined the cast of the popular series during the seventh season of the show. His partner, Emilia Torello, informed fans about Teal’s passing in an Instagram post. Teal died on November 15th in a hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Torello revealed that Teal was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer seven months prior to his death. Torello and Teal met during the 2022 production of Newsies and started dating soon after. Torello starred in several TV projects and a film, besides her appearances in stage productions.
