Warning! Spoilers ahead for the Frasier reboot pilot.
Frasier reboot effectively resolves plot hole by explaining how Frasier met Alan, his college friend, who was absent in Cheers. Alan's character is expected to be integral to the success of the Frasier reboot, providing a fresh dynamic for Frasier's new story. Building a new ensemble cast is important for the reboot, and exploring Frasier's friendship with Alan is a great way to do that with the fun dynamic between the characters.
Before it becomes a big problem, the Frasier reboot pilot effectively resolves its biggest Cheers plot hole. In his fourth act, Kelsey Grammer's Frasier returns to Boston for new adventures. This marks his New England comeback three decades after he left the city for his hometown of Seattle. Much has changed since Frasier was last in Beantown, and as with his previous move, resettling means rebuilding his social circle.

Warning! Spoilers ahead for the Frasier reboot.
The Frasier reboot pays tribute to John Mahoney's character, Martin Crane, who played a pivotal role in the original series. The pilot episode of the reboot, titled "The Good Father," draws parallels between Frasier and his relationship with his son Freddy. Frasier's new drinking spot in the reboot is called Mahoney's, a nod to John Mahoney, honoring his contribution to the show.
The Frasier reboot pilot features several references to Martin Crane. Despite Kelsey Grammer's Frasier Crane claiming that his father was dead in Cheers, NBC walked back on the revelation and introduced John Mahoney as the Frasier patriarch in the original Frasier. His debut marked the beginning of one of the most satisfying love affairs for Frasier, with his relationship with Martin serving as the core relationship in his spin-off. The quintessential Everyman, Martin was a retired police officer, which...

The Frasier reboot pays tribute to important people from the original series, including Gabrielle James, Archie Lyndhurst, and John Mahoney. Gabrielle James, known for her work as a script supervisor, played an integral role in both Cheers and Frasier. Archie Lyndhurst, son of actor Nicholas Lyndhurst, tragically passed away and is honored in the Frasier reboot, adding to the show's emphasis on family.
The Frasier reboot ends with tributes to Gabrielle James, Archie Lyndhurst & John Mahoney, who are all important people to the show and its predecessor. While the original series was known for its layered comedy, what made it really stand out was its ability to tackle difficult and emotional topics. Despite the many changes in the revival, its first two episodes show that it is following in the footsteps of its parent series, as evidenced by Frasier and Freddy's emotional...

Spoilers for the "Frasier" revival follow.
'90s kids will be pleased to hear that Kelsey Grammer hasn't ruined "Frasier" for us all. When it was first announced, the revival show that just premiered on Paramount+ seemed likely to sully the memory of the beloved sitcom, which ran from 1993-2004 and racked up 37 Emmys across its 11 seasons. But in the age of streaming where the sitcom format seems beyond outdated and everyone's binge-watching high-production value premium dramas, reviving "Frasier" seemed like the perfect way to tarnish our cherished memories of the show.
Thankfully, the "Frasier" revival is actually quite charming, and while it doesn't seem entirely necessary, it at least makes for a return that's neither disappointing nor remarkable. Which, all in all, is a pretty good outcome for those with fond memories of Frasier Crane and his family's Seattle-based exploits.
It might seem a little excessive to worry so much about any of this.
