Baby names that stand the test of time always find their way back into top baby name lists. Over the last few years, celebrities have been bringing back vintage baby names that were once popular in the 1950s and 1960s. Let’s round up some of the names celebrities are using for their 2020s babies.

1. Actress Amy Schumer and her husband Chris Fischer named their first baby, a boy, Gene.

2. Reality star Bekah Martinez and her husband Grayston Leonard have chosen vintage names for all three of their children. They named their first baby, a daughter, Ruth, gave their first son the name Franklin, and chose the moniker Ernest for baby number three.

Beyoncé absolutely dominated the list of 67th Annual Grammy Awards nominees, earning 11 nominations including Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Best Country Album. Charli xcx, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, and Post Malone each scored seven nominations, with Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan, and Sabrina Carpenter picking up six.

“Today we celebrate the amazing creative achievements of our music community,” stated Harvey Mason jr., CEO of the Recording Academy. “It was an incredible year in music and these nominations reflect the work of a voting body that is more representative of the music community than ever before. The Grammy became music’s most coveted award precisely because the recognition comes from one’s peers, and I’m so grateful for the Academy’s 13,000 voting members who take the time to evaluate all the amazing music, cast their votes and honor their peers.

It was once again a big year for women with Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Charli Xcx, Sabrina Carpenter, and Chappell Roan receiving top nominations.

There’s apparently still plenty of money to be made in crypto because The Black Keys have signed on to play the final show of “The America Loves Crypto Tour,” which is a not-at-all ridiculously named concert series hosted by the (we kid you not) Stand with Crypto Alliance political action committee.

The “intimate show” goes down next Friday, October 25th at the Akron Civic Theatre in The Black Keys’ hometown of Akron, Ohio. Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney are just the latest musicians to play in support of the Pac. The Black Keys recently embarked on their European tour, and upon arriving in London for the first of three nights at the O2 Academy Brixton, the duo were joined onstage by Noel Gallagher, one of the collaborators on their new album Ohio Players.

The Black Keys named one of their most popular albums “Brothers,” which seems on the face of it to be a positive statement of purpose and, obviously, fraternalism between the rock duo’s two members, Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney. But the question remains: what kind of brothers? Like, Oasis’ battling Gallaghers, or some gentler brand of bros? It’s a question fans will think about after seeing “This Is a Film About the Black Keys,” an engaging music documentary that trains a spotlight on some lesser-known, historical tensions between the two as well as what binds them. One thing is clear: In the Black Keys, ebony and ivory don’t always live together in perfect harmony.

The term “arranged marriage” is invoked more than once in the film for the relationship between Carney and Auerbach, which seems a little strange, based on what we know of the duo’s shared biography.

Ahead of Ohio Players’ April 5 release, Patrick Carney and Dan Auerbach have shared their first single, “Beautiful People (Stay High),” which they co-wrote with Beck and Dan “The Automator” Nakamura.

Backed by rollicking drums and a rock ‘n’ roll piano, “Beautiful People” is a soulful ode to hedonism with a chorus that gleefully proclaims: “All of those beautiful people stay high.” Its accompanying lyric video feels straight out of the 1960s, playing to the song’s retro vibe with grainy, black-and-white footage and plenty of mid-century digs.

Kicking off today, Marvel Playback was offered the chance to speak with Pat Carney from The Black Keys and spoke with him about the synergy between music and comics, the timelessness of Marvel Comics, and who first introduced him to the world of comic books. “I got into comics when I was 10 years old,” said Carney. “I remember looking at the old comics that my dad had and they were all 12 cents. I started mowing lawns when I was in 4th grade just to be able to pay for comic books.

Something Marvel has done particularly well in 2017 is promoting its line of books via dynamic multimedia content, in this case, through music videos. Not surprisingly, their latest offering aims to hype their currently ongoing crossover event series, Monsters Unleashed.
