New Trailer for Crazy Comedy UK Series 'Stags' Set in South America
Image
"This can't be happening, this can't be real." Sony Pictures has posted an official trailer for a zany comedy series called Stags, created by Daniel Cullen. This originally premiered last year in the UK on Paramount+. It's now available to watch streaming in the US exclusively on the PlayStation Plus network in Sony Pictures Core. Stags is actually a 6-episode series (not a movie!) that follows groom-to-be Stu and his friends on his stag do trip down to South America. One review calls it "the exhilarating, gorgeous tale of eight idiots." Ha. Stu's stag do in South America goes bad when Greg collapses at customs and is found to be full of cocaine. Arrested, the group are taken to an island prison run by cocaine-smuggling siblings, Selma & Branco. Things go from very bad to much worse... Starring Nico Mirallegro, Charlie Cooper, Asim Chaudry, Corin Silva, Sophie Lenglinger, Paul Forman, Jojo Macari,...

Image
After two weeks since making its return, BBC One’s TV series Rogue Heroes Season 2 has already garnered very promising reviews from critics. Prior to the latest installment’s premiere, fans had a two-year waiting period, after the World War II drama had wrapped up Season 1’s 6-episode run on BBC One.

Per review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, Rogue Heroes Season 2 has officially received a perfect Tomatometer score, based on five reviews. As Jack Seale of the Guardian said, “With its sober view of sacrifice and its clever use of extreme adversity to bring out different facets of the male psyche, Rogue Heroes earns its stripes, but be reassured that with all that groundwork in place it is, primarily, a right old romp.” Directed by Stephen Woolfenden from a screenplay written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, the first four episodes of Season 2 are now available for streaming on the BBC iPlayer in the U.

Corin Silva
"We're going to kick off with an ice-breaker!" Time to gather everyone and learn some improv techniques! Doughnut is a cunning, awkward, dark comedy short from Manchester about an improv lesson that... goes off the rails. Made by filmmakers Larry Ketang & Liam White. An amateur improv class gather for the first time. During a friendly ice-breaker, one of the members does something that the rest of the group struggle to move beyond. Starring Nadia Emam, Lee Fenwick, and Corin Silva. The director's add: "Doughnut is a darkly comedic short about the power of words, about how the image others have of you is shaped so much by what you say and how this can be manipulated if you really wanted to. It also asks questions about the nature of atonement, and whether some acts are unforgivable, regardless of how much time has passed." This is a clever short that isn't that funny,...
