Franchise Favorites Are Returning — And It Might Be Exactly What The Librarians: The Next Chapter Needs
Image
When TNT canceled The Librarians after four seasons and countless movies, there were many unhappy fans.

When The Librarians: The Next Chapter was announced, there were questions about which franchise alums would be stopping by.

Now that we’re approaching the season finale, details are trickling out about the second season of the sequel series, including which guest stars are on board.

(Aleksandar Letic/TNT)

The cabler has confirmed that Christian Kane, who plays Jacob Stone, has booked a return visit to the series.

However, an episode could not have been determined for his role, but since Jacob is a crucial element of why the Library is currently functional in Belgrade, I doubt he’ll ever be too far from the drama.

(TBS/Screenshot)

Jacob is a part of The Librarians’ DNA, too, so that bodes well for him to continue making sporadic appearances.

Over 1 Year Later, Doctor Who's Weirdest Running Joke Is Officially Still Going - Now It Should Never End
Image
Warning: spoilers ahead for Doctor Who's "Joy to the World."

Over a year later, Doctor Who is still defying gravity, and the show might as well make it a permanent fixture far beyond just Doctor Who season 15. Doctor Who has always toyed playfully with the notion of altering history. The Tenth Doctor's adventure with William Shakespeare found the Time Lord accidentally giving England's most iconic playwright inspiration for stories he had not yet written, while David Tennant's Doctor also invented the banana daiquiri several centuries early while in 18th century France. These kinds of references, however, have never been more than fleeting gags.

That all changed in Doctor Who's 60th anniversary specials when Tennant's Fourteenth Doctor, following in the tradition of his doppelganger, altered the course of history by bumping into Isaac Newton. As an unforeseen consequence, the famous physicist decided to name his discovery "mavity" instead of "gravity" and,...

House Of The Dragon Turned King Aegon II Targaryen From Being Joffrey's Replacement Into A Much Better Character Than The One In Grrm's Book
Image
King Aegon II Targaryen is, on the surface, House of the Dragon's equivalent of King Joffrey Baratheon from Game of Thrones. Both are rulers who come to the throne at a young age after the death of a father who didn't show a huge amount of interest in them, both are far too immature, spoiled, and ill-prepared to hold such a position, and both are capable of acts of great depravity and cruelty that rival some of the worst kings from throughout Game of Thrones history.

Joffrey, of course, is one of the most hated characters in TV history, brought brilliantly to life by Jack Gleeson as part of Game of Thrones' cast. Aegon, who in House of the Dragon's own cast was played by Ty Tennant and then (and still) Tom Glynn-Carney, hasn't reached the same rage-inducing, fist-through-the-tv levels of loathsome. That speaks to just how despicable Joffrey was,...

Why House of the Dragon Recast Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower
Image
Your browser does not support the video tag.

With the help of its stars, the Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon became an instant success. Emily Carey's Alicent and Milly Alcock's Rhaenyra propelled the show into the public consciousness by introducing a touching dynamic with painful and tragic overtones. Their close connection was shattered quickly, and Rhaenyra's pain was set to resound through Alcock's performance for the rest of the show.

Yet, by House of the Dragon Season 1, Episode 6, "The Princess and the Queen", the two characters were recast. Olivia Cooke replaced Emily Carey and Emma DArcy took Milly Alcock's place in the show. Alicent and Rhaenyra's dynamic remained unchanged, but Alcock and Carey did not return to the show in a full-time capacity. Recasting both characters is understandable, given the 10-year time jump, but the decision is still baffling. After all, few other characters were recast.

Dead Boy Detectives Sent To The Afterlife As Netflix Cancels Critically-Acclaimed DC Series After One Season
Image
The Dead Boy Detectives have been sent to the afterlife prematurely.

Despite positive reviews (92% on Rotten Tomatoes) and strong viewership (at least initially), Variety reports that Netflix's supernatural mystery series has been cancelled after just a single season.

The show - which is set in the same universe as The Sandman - got off to a strong start, managing to stay in the Netflix Top 10 English TV charts for three weeks after its release. It racked-up just 3.1 million views in its first three days of availability (Netflix defines a view as total series runtime divided by total hours viewed) before climbing to 4.7 million. It then dropped to just 1.8 million views in week three before falling off the Top 10 chart.

Created by Neil Gaiman, the undead duo were first introduced in the pages of The Sandman before going on to appear in the likes of The Books of Magic, Children's Crusade,...

How Many Children Alicent Has In Hotd (& What Happens To Them)
Image
Warning: Contains major Spoilers for Fire & Blood, the book on which House of the Dragon is based, as well as show spoilers for House of the Dragon season 2.

Alicent Hightower has 4 children, all fathered by King Viserys I Targaryen. Aegon Targaryen is Alicent's eldest child and has a turbulent reign as King Aegon II. Helaena Targaryen, Aemond Targaryen, and Daeron Targaryen play crucial roles in the Targaryen civil war.

Alicent Hightower's children are key to House of the Dragon's story, but just how many does she actually have? Alicent was married early to King Viserys I Targaryen, and has not re-married after his death. Their children carry on the family legacy and, alongside her, are now central to the Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons.

Much of the focus may be on the rivalry between Alicent's Greens and Rhaenyra Targaryen's Blacks factions, and specifically the...

10 Biggest Changes Between 'House of the Dragon' and 'Fire and Blood'
Image
House of the Dragon is well on its way to redeeming the audience's faith in HBO after the abysmal failure of Season 8 of Game of Thrones. Based on the fictional history book, Fire and Blood, by George R. R. Martin, the show is set over a hundred years before Game of Thrones and focuses on the Golden Age of the Targaryen royal family, when there were more members of their family and more dragons than ever seen in Westeros' history. Unfortunately, tensions build regarding who King Viserys I (Paddy Considine) will choose as his successor: his daughter, Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock and Emma D'Arcy), or his eldest son, Aegon (Ty Tennant and Tom Glynn-Carney).

House Of The Dragon Season 2: The Team Black Character Guide
Image
After the less-than-stellar series finale of "Game of Thrones," many were skeptical of HBO's decision to pursue the prequel series "House of the Dragon," and firmly believed the show would be an expensive flop. Fortunately, not only is "House of the Dragon" rivetingly good television but it's also proven to be a massive hit for the premium cable network and its streaming platform, Max. Centered on the events of the Targaryen Civil War, colloquially known as the Dance of the Dragons, the first season showcased the events leading up to the passing of King Viserys I Targaryen (Paddy Considine) and the kingdom's refusal to accept his chosen successor, Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D'Arcy), as the rightful heir.

Betrayal, the murder of Rhaenyra's son Lucerys Velaryon (and his dragon), and plenty of lies and manipulation have brought us to season 2, which intends to kick off the war set roughly 170 years before the...

‘House of the Dragon’: The Story So Far, Heading Into Season 2
Image
As a warrior queen once screamed, “Where are my dragons?”

It’s the question that’s lingered for Game of Thrones franchise fans for almost two years now, as the audience eagerly awaits for the second season of prequel series House of the Dragon to drop. Well, good news, friends: It’s almost here! June 16 is the big date, with the war between Team Black and Team Green finally kicking into overdrive, and plenty of those ferocious winged beasts fueling the fight along.

Dead Boy Detectives interviews with the cast, creator, and showrunner of the Netflix / Neil Gaiman series
Yuyu Kitamura, George Rexstrew, Kassius Nelson, and Jayden Revri in Dead Boy Detectives (2024)
Once set up at the Max streaming service, the TV series Dead Boy Detectives, which is based on characters Neil Gaiman created for DC Comics in the pages of The Sandman issue #25, is now calling Netflix its home, having moved away from Max last year because it “doesn’t fit with DC executives James Gunn and Peter Safran’s plans for the Dcu.” The show premiered on April 25th (you can read our review Here) – and to mark the occasion, a new addition to the team here at JoBlo.com, Kyanna Mondezie, was given the opportunity to conduct interviews with several members of the cast: George Rexstrew, Jayden Revri, Kassius Nelson, and Yuyu Kitamura. You can hear what they had to say about their experience working on the show by checking out the video embedded above. Also interviewed were series creator Steve Yockey and showrunner Beth Schwartz.

Dead Boy Detectives Is No Euphoria, But It's Still Lots of Fun
Image
Move over, Sam and Dean Winchester, there are some new supernatural mystery solvers on the scene. The Dead Boy Detectives are taking over the ghost-hunting and demon-hunting duties on Netflix, and they're adding in British accents and the fact that they are dead themselves. Edwin Paine and Charles Rowland are DC comic book characters created by Neil Gaiman, but they have a lot more in common with the Winchesters than meets the eye.

To understand the Netflix take on Dead Boy Detectives, you have to first understand how the show arrived on the streamer in the first place. It was originally intended as a spin-off of Doom Patrol after Sebastian Croft and Ty Tennant portrayed the ghostly sleuthing duo in Season 3. Steve Yockey (Supernatural) was developing the series when Max dropped it because it didn't fit in with new DC bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran's vision for the DC cinematic universe.

Dead Boy Detectives
Image
Streaming on: Netflix

Episodes viewed: 8 of 8

The Dead Boy Detectives are defiant in the face of death — it's their whole shtick — yet it's still a miracle that their show survived long enough to reach this point. Starting out as minor comic-book characters in Neil Gaiman's Sandman, the ghostly duo eventually guest-starred in TV's Doom Patrol, but their proposed spin-off was then shunted from HBO Max to Netflix, and the boys themselves were recast too, replacing Ty Tennant and Heartstopper's Sebastian Croft with newcomers George Rexstrew and Jayden Revri.

Yet, despite all that and a wobbly first episode aside, Dead Boy Detectives is remarkably sure of itself. Once the premise is established, the show deftly balances each supernatural case-of-the-week with ongoing threads that dig deeper into the wider world it shares with Netflix's Sandman, as well as the interior world of each lead character. There are cameos and name-drops...

Dead Boy Detectives Review: Dynamic, Fun Supernatural Series Is A Great Addition To Sandman Universe
Image
Dead Boy Detectives is a breath of fresh air to The Sandman universe. The series balances trauma and comedy in the best way possible. The show's main trio has great chemistry, and every member shines throughout the season.

Dead Boy Detectives is an exciting series with plenty of interesting mysteries and charismatic characters that keep you hooked every step of the way. Dead Boy Detectives was initially intended to be a spinoff of the DC series Doom Patrol. In that irreverent superhero show, Ty Tennant, Sebastian Croft, and Madalyn Horcher played the roles of Edwin Payne, Charles Rowland, and Crystal Palace, respectively. The series ended up shifting from the DC universe to the Sandman universe along the way, which paired well with the series' new cast.

9/10 ProsThe series' lead trio works great togetherAction and character-driven moments are nicely balancedThe show has a fast pace and presents an immersive world

The Best TV Shows And Movies Coming To Netflix In April 2024
Image
While "Dune: Part Two" continues to dominate the box office, Netflix is bringing a whole lot of new titles to the platform -- and we're doing our best to make sure that not all of them get lost in the algorithm.

This April, Netflix is bringing some highly anticipated titles, including what was once meant to be a spin-off of "Doom Patrol" (the best superhero show that isn't a superhero show), a brand new anime from the studio behind "Ranking of Kings," and not one but two live-action adaptations of beloved manga — including one created by the director of "Train to Busan."

Because of the almighty algorithm, it can be hard to filter through the many titles getting released on streaming every week, let alone know they even exist. That's what this guide is for, as we go through our top picks for what we're hoping are some of the...

How The Sandman Already Got A Spinoff Series Despite Season 2 Delays
Image
Despite delays in The Sandman season 2, Netflix has decided to move forward with the spinoff Dead Boy Detectives. Dead Boy Detectives was initially pitched as a Doom Patrol spinoff but has now become part of The Sandman's universe, with the show finding a new home on Netflix after creative differences and the promotion of key individuals at DC Studios. With Dead Boy Detectives premiering on Netflix, it can fill the void left by The Sandman's setback and offer viewers an action-packed supernatural adventure while they wait for the return of the twisted, dark fantasy that they love.

In a surprising turn of events, Netflix has chosen to move forward with The Sandman's spinoff, Dead Boy Detectives, despite the current delays in the filming of The Sandman season 2. After all, with only 11 episodes to its name, the King of Dreams' epic journey has barely gotten off the ground.

Netflix's Dead Boy Detectives Solve Ghostly Mysteries In First Trailer For The Sandman Spin-Off
Image
Things at Warner Bros. Discovery are unstable right now, as their recent shelving of "Coyote Vs. Acme" for the quick boost of a tax write-off shows. As a result, Steve Yockey ("The Flight Attendant") might be breathing a sigh of relief that his series, "Dead Boy Detectives," was shopped around to Netflix.

The series is a DC Comics property, however, according to the Hollywood Reporter, but didn't fit with James Gunn and Peter Safran's new plans at DC Studios. Originally intended to be a spin-off of the Max original series "Doom Patrol," it will instead be set in the same universe as Netflix's "The Sandman," the live-action adaptation of Neil Gaiman's acclaimed Vertigo comic. The Dead Boy Detectives, Charles Rowland and Edwin Paine, first appeared in "The Sandman" issue #25. True to their name, they're a pair of dead boys who decided to stay on Earth investigating crimes instead of leaving for the afterlife.

All 10 Doctor Who Easter Eggs & References In Good Omens Season 2
Image
Where to Watch Powered by Good Omens season 2 features various Doctor Who Easter eggs, including a Gallifreyan-like blueprint and a cameo from Peter Davison, the fifth Doctor. Aziraphale listens to Glenn Miller's "Moonlight Serenade," which parallels a Doctor Who episode that explored the Doctor's romantic interests. There are multiple nods to Doctor Who, such as the trade of a rare Doctor Who book, Crowley wearing a fez like Matt Smith's Doctor, and references to Alpha Centauri and the Master.

Good Omens season 2 is packed with small details and references to different works in film, TV, and literature, and curiously enough, it has a bunch of Doctor Who Easter eggs and references. After a long wait of four years, Amazon Prime’s Good Omens finally returned with its second season, and it had a bunch of surprises up its sleeve. As season 1 covered the entire book written by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett,...

Good Omens Season 2's Doctor Who Connections Go Beyond A Few Easter Eggs
Image
This article contains spoilers for "Good Omens" season 2.

There's a lot of overlap between the "Good Omens" and "Doctor Who" fanbases. After all, Crowley is played by David Tennant, the same guy who played (and is now playing again) the time-traveling alien Doctor. If that wasn't enough, "Good Omens" also co-stars Michael Sheen as Aziraphale, an actor who played the malevolent alien House in the "Doctor Who" episode "The Doctor's Wife." That episode was written by Neil Gaiman, co-creator and showrunner of "Good Omens." Director Douglas MacKinnon has also worked on both shows.

"Good Omens" season 2 takes the connections between the shows even further. Peter Davison, who played the fifth Doctor back in 1982, shows up here to play the biblical figure Job. Job's son, Ennon, is played by David Tennant's real-life son, Ty Tennant, who also happens to be Peter Davison's grandson. The fly Beelzebub gives Gabriel is described as "bigger on the inside,...

Good Omens: David Tennant Had No Idea His Son Had Auditioned for Season 2
Image
Actor David Tennant, who has famously played demon Crowley in Good Omens, revealed that he did not know that his son Ty Tennant, who has followed in his father's footsteps acting-wise, had landed the part of Ennon in Season 2.

The Good Omens star went in for an interview with Variety ahead of the premiere of Season 2 (which is today) and spoke at length about the way he had found out about Ty's unexpected casting. Apparently, Tennant had no idea that his son was even going to audition, let alone that he got the role. The actor admitted that he had done "a bunch of self-tapes with Ty," but not the one that ended up earning him the part in the hit Amazon Prime Video show because he "was out of town filming" Season 2 at the time.

David Tennant's Son Embraces The Nepo Baby Allegations In Good Omens Season 2
Image
This post contains spoilers for "Good Omens" season 2.

What's the right way to acknowledge the privilege with which you were raised? It's probably not by having your publicist shut down the question, as Ben Platt did in a recent Rolling Stone interview. Allison Williams sits at the other side of the spectrum of the "nepo baby" discourse, having eloquently and succinctly acknowledged her "fortunate" circumstances in an interview last year. Nepotism in Hollywood is a subject of endless fascination and discourse these days, and while the range of responses from celebrity kids has been wide, I think it's safe to say that Ty Tennant has chosen the most entertaining approach to the topic: Play some chaotic nepo babies on TV.

Ty, who is the son of actors Georgia and David Tennant, joined his dad in the latest season of "Good Omens" during a flashback "minisode" about the biblical story of Job.

Frances McDormand, Peter Davison & 5 Other Cameos In Good Omens Season 2
Image
This article contains spoilers for Good Omens season 2.Good Omens season 2 continues Aziraphale and Crowley's adventure, all while featuring plenty of amazing cameos. The second-season guest spots not only bring fresh faces to the Prime Video show but a spate of wonderful actors too. Adapted from Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's book of the same name, Good Omens season 1 follows the novel closely. However, with no sequel material to pull from, Good Omens season 2 presents an entirely new storyline crafted by Gaiman, which centers on the relationship between Aziraphale and Crowley.

Good Omens season 2 delves deeper into the timeless bond between Aziraphale and Crowley, which illustrates how their interactions and experiences influence each other over the ages. While the inaugural season also boasts notable cameo appearances, such as David Morrissey, Benedict Cumberbatch, and even Gaiman, Good Omens season 2 doesn't disappoint either, thanks to appearances from Oscar winners and well-known character actors.

Amazon Just Teased The House Of The Dragon Death That Got's Spinoff Never Could
Image
Warning! This article contains spoilers for Good Omens season 2, episode 2!Good Omens season 2 features House of the Dragon’s Young Aegon actor Ty Tennant in a brief cameo, which nearly fulfills a death that the Game of Thrones spinoff couldn’t include. Amazon’s Good Omens season 2 cast brings back David Tennant as Crowley, a demon who was cast away from Hell after hindering Satan’s plan to enact the Apocalypse. Tennant’s return also came with the casting of two of the actor’s family members: His father-in-law, Doctor Who’s Peter Davison, and his son, House of the Dragon season 1’s Ty Tennant.

While Ty Tennant only appeared in two episodes of House of the Dragon season 1 as Young Aegon Targaryen, the actor made the most of his time as his loathsome character defaced his bedroom window, got drunk at a funeral, and was frequently chastised by his mother.

Neil Gaiman Addresses Significant Good Omens Season 2 Leaks
Image
As the second season of Good Omens approaches, the creator of the TV series, Neil Gaiman, finds himself deeply saddened by a significant leak of a major plot point. Good Omens centers around the unlikely friendship between Aziraphale, an angel, and Crowley, a demon, who have developed a deep bond despite their opposing roles in the eternal battle between Heaven and Hell. Settled on Earth as representatives of their respective realms, the duo faces the daunting task of averting the arrival of the Antichrist, an event that would trigger the ultimate conflict known as Armageddon.

Neil Gaiman took to Tumblr (via Screen Rant) to address the leak and implore fans to refrain from spoiling the surprises that await in the upcoming season. Welcome to the Year of David Tennant!
Image
There’s never been a better year to be a David Tennant fan – the man’s the very definition of “booked and busy”.

You could have been forgiven for thinking he’d had a pretty unbeatable year back in 2005, when (among other things) he starred in two of that year’s biggest TV and film successes, both beginning his tenure as the Tenth Doctor in Doctor Who and playing Barty Crouch Jr in Harry Potter and The Goblet Of Fire.

But almost 20 years later, Tennant’s demand has only continued growing, so much so that these days it’s almost easier to list the blockbuster shows and franchises that don’t involve David Tennant.

Add to that acting roles for Georgia Tennant, his wife, and three of their five children (so far!), and there’s a whole smorgasbord of Tennant talent on offer.

Let’s take a look at what...

The video, posted to YouTube, sees the angel Aziraphale and the demon Crowley as they discuss their plan to avert Armageddon -- only to realize they've misplaced the Antichrist. After the song concludes, Crowley is contacted by Good Omens co-writer and showrunner Neil Gaiman, who hands off a basket for him to deliver to Amazon. He passes by a confused stranger before handing the parcel off to an Amazon employee. She peeks inside the basket, revealing a title card that announces Season 2 of Good Omens will premiere July 28.

‘House of the Dragon’: Olivia Cooke is the power behind the throne
Image
“House of the Dragon” looks set to, uh, cook up a storm at this year’s Emmys including bids for many of the cast. Among those most deserving of consideration is Olivia Cooke, who plays the older version of Queen Alicent Hightower in the HBO epic.

Set a century before “Game of Thrones,” “House of the Dragon” depicts the blossoming conflict between several major Westeros families after Paddy Considine‘s King Viserys names his daughter Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock/Emma D’Arcy) as his heir. This leads to various parties vying for the Iron Throne in the ongoing Targaryen war of succession. Alicent Hightower marries King Viserys and births a son, Aegon Targaryen (Ty Tennant/Tom Glynn-Carney), who later challenges for the throne.

As such, Cooke is a major player in “House of the Dragon” and appears in the last half of season one, starting with episode six’s “The Princess and the Queen.

Good Omens Season 2 Update Amidst Writers Strike Provided By Neil Gaiman
Image
With the Writers Guild of America going on a strike, Good Omens writer Neil Gaiman provides an update about season 2. Good Omens was released in 2019 as a miniseries starring David Tennant and Michael Sheen as a bickering demon and angel, alongside other lauded actors, like Jon Hamm and Frances McDormand, lending their talent. Many details surrounding season 2 are still under wraps, but Tennant and Sheen are returning, with their characters again being the central focus.

Good Omens season 2 has already wrapped filming, with some now concerned as the writer's strike begins. Gaiman took to Twitter to quell potential concerns over the writing duties of the series.

I'm in the Writers Guild of America. I wish this wasn't happening and support it absolutely. When I wake up tomorrow I'll be on strike. https://t.co/sc64H4bm5E — Neil Gaiman (@neilhimself) May 2, 2023

Emmys: ‘House of the Dragon’ could win both guest drama acting races
Image
“House of the Dragon” looks set to continue the trend that its predecessor, “Game of Thrones,” set with a slew of its stellar cast contending for Emmys. Currently, we are predicting three of the ongoing cast of this HBO hit — Emma D’Arcy, Paddy Considine, and Matt Smith — to reap Emmy bids for their performances. They will contend in lead drama actress, lead drama actor and supporting drama actor respectively.

But we just launched our prediction center for guest stars and we are predicting that three of the performers who appeared in only a handful of episodes will make an impression on TV academy voters. Tom Glynn-Carney and Ty Tennant are among those vying for Best Drama Guest Actor bids while Bethany Antonia is among the hopefuls for Best Drama Guest Actress.

Glynn-Carney and Tennant play the same character in “House of the Dragon,” which is set almost 200 years before “Game of Thrones...

Drama Guest Actor Emmy predictions now open! Which performers are you picking?
Image
The Gold Derby predictions center event for the 2023 Emmy Awards has now added the Drama Guest Actor category. We have compiled lists of nearly 40 eligible performers in each of the four guest acting races that reflect our educated guesses on who will be submitted for consideration. More names will be added in the next few months and when the Television Academy releases this year’s ballots in June. Make your very first selections now!

Last year, “Succession” dominated this category with four of the six slots for guests Adrien Brody, James Cromwell, Arian Moayed, and Alexander Skarsgård. As of this writing, we anticipate both Cromwell and Moayed will be guest eligible — Moayed has already appeared in one Season 4 episode so far — while Skarsgård may appear in enough episodes to be deemed supporting. With the 2022 victor Colman Domingo (“Euphoria”) and nominee Tom Pelphrey (“Ozark”) ineligible, there will be at least three...

Good Omens Season 2 Trailer Wait Explained By Neil Gaiman
Image
The wait for the trailer of Good Omens season 2 is explained by creator Neil Gaiman. The fantasy-comedy series, which is based on the 1990 novel of the same name by Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, and which follows the angel Aziraphale and the demon Crowley, was positioned as a limited series. But, bolstered by a positive response and awards recognition, Prime Video confirmed Good Omens season 2 in June 2021. Michael Sheen, who plays Aziraphale, and David Tennant, who portrays Crowley, are set to return.

In a Tumblr post, Gaiman discussed the delay around promotional updates on Good Omens season 2. The creator and author confirmed that new episodes would arrive in the summer of 2023, also explaining that a trailer hasn't been made yet. In his remarks, which are included below, Gaiman talks about the promotional cycle for a television show, how that sometimes can differ from a movie, and notes he suggested a trailer...

Good Omens Season 2 Reportedly Adds David Tennant's Family Members
Image
Good Omens season 2 is seemingly becoming a family affair, with David Tennant’s son and father-in-law both reportedly joining the cast. Based on the 1990 comedy novel penned by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, Good Omens season 1 followed Tennant’s demon Crowley and his angelic friend Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) as they attempted to prevent the rise of the Antichrist and the coming of Armageddon. Originally intended to be a limited series, Prime Video eventually greenlit season 2 in 2021 due to the show’s popularity and critical acclaim.

Now it would seem that Tennant’s Crowley is set to be joined by some familiar faces, with RadioTimes.com reporting that the actor’s family members Ty Tennant and Peter Davison are each set to assume their own roles in Good Omens season 2. The publication notes that their CVs have their parts listed. Tennant’s son and House of the Dragon star Ty Tennant...

House Of The Dragon Season 2 Won't Have Rhaenyra & Alicent Flashbacks
Image
One House of the Dragon star has officially confirmed that they will not be returning for season 2. The series, which is a prequel to Game of Thrones following the fall of the Targaryen dynasty, was renewed for a second season just five days after its initial premiere in August 2022. Considering how many years of history the run of season 1 spanned, the question remains as to how many cast members will still be around when the impending season 2 pushes even further into the future.

Recently, Deadline had the opportunity to sit down with for a candid interview with Milly Alcock, who plays the younger version of Emma D'Arcy's Rhaenyra Targaryen. Considering the fact that she has just signed on to star in the upcoming production of The Crucible at London’s National Theatre, she was asked if there was a chance she would return in the impending House of the Dragon...

Dead Boy Detectives Gets Exciting Filming Update From Neil Gaiman
Image
Neil Gaiman has given an exciting filming update for the upcoming HBO Max series Dead Boy Detectives. The Dead Boy Detectives, Edwin Paine and Charles Rowland, are fictional characters who first appeared in Gaiman's comic The Sandman No. 25. Paine and Rowland first appeared on-screen in 2021 in Doom Patrol season 3, in which Paine was played by Heartstopper actor Sebastian Croft, and Rowland was played by Ty Tennant. In September 2021, it was announced that HBO Max had ordered a potential Dead Boy Detectives series, and updates were sporadically given on the project over the following year. Currently, there is no confirmed release date for Dead Boy Detectives.

In a post to Twitter from Gaiman, the author has confirmed that Dead Boy Detectives is still happening at HBO Max, amidst both HBO and DC scrapping several major projects over the past several months.

House of the Dragon Star Teases More Chaos From Aegon In Season 2
Image
Aegon actor Tom Glynn-Carney is excited to see his character wreak havoc in House of the Dragon season 2. An essential House of the Dragon character, Aegon is the son of Viserys (Paddy Considine) and Alicent (Olivia Cooke). His birth represented a threat to Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy)'s claim to the throne despite the king's steadfast support of her as his heir. Played by Ty Tennant as a teenager, the role of Aegon was taken over by Tom Glynn-Carney in season 1, episode 8, "The Lord of the Tides," after a six-year time jump. Episode 9 saw Aegon ascend to the Iron Throne after Viserys' death in a coup to usurp Rhaenyra's claim.

As reported by EW, Glynn-Carney spoke about his character's House of the Dragon season 2 future at HBO's inaugural Game of Thrones Fan Convention in Los Angeles, teasing a larger role for Aegon. The actor teased the "strenuous" nature of season 2, saying...
