Parade Deck Films is excited to announce the upcoming theatrical release of festival favorite The Dark Below.

For his fourth and most daring film, director Douglas Schulze (Mimesis, Dark Fields) brings us The Dark Below. This tense, fear driven film utilizes minimal dialog, portrays a woman (Lauren Mae Shafer) struggling for survival beneath a frozen lake while a serial killer (David G.B. Brown) stalks her from the surface.

If there’s one film that I saw in 2013 that stayed with me longer than any other, it is Motivational Growth. Most of you haven’t had the chance to see it yet, but I have a feeling that when you do, you will love it as well. I’ll admit, that if somebody had told me that I would absolutely love, a film about a guy talking to a huge pile of intelligent mold that is growing in his bathroom floor, I’d probably have told them that they were insane. It’s an absurd premise, but some of the greatest films of all time have absurd premises as well. Motivational Growth is shot, acted, and edited so exceptionally well, that I think it will appeal to many, even those that aren’t usually a fan of oddball indie horror flicks. The details of a North American release of the film have surfaced.

Parade Deck Films has acquired worldwide rights to up-and-coming director Gabriel Carrer’s In the House of Flies (review here) from Latefox Pictures and will be giving it a same-day VOD and limited theatrical release in select cities beginning May 9th.

For his third and most diabolical outing as director, Carrer (If A Tree Falls) brings retro 80s psychological terror back to the masses. The film tells the story of Heather and Steven (Lindsay Smith and Ryan Kotack), who find their lives changed forever when they’re suddenly abducted.

The psychological thriller is produced by Carrer, Chad Archibald, Nathan Hawkins, and Dave McLeod. With a killer score by composer Steve MacDougall, the film also features music from 80s icons Saga and Brighton Rock.

“Parade Deck Films is the perfect home for our little movie, and I couldn’t be happier with what plans they have in store for it," says director Gabriel Carrer.
