5 ways ‘America’s Got Talent’ can make history in Season 15
Image
From singers to dancers to danger acts and everything in between, “America’s Got Talent” is TV’s only competition show that embraces all forms of variety acts. Throughout its 15 years on the air, seven singers have claimed victory with the others being a mix of ventriloquists, magicians, etc. (See the “Agt” winners list.) However, there are five specific variety acts that have yet to win the top prize of $1 million and a headline show in Las Vegas. Can any of these acts make history for “America’s Got Talent” in Season 15?

Comedians

Stand-up comics have come so close to winning over the years, but none have ever claimed the top trophy. Tom Cotter in Season 7, Taylor Williamson in Season 8 and Drew Lynch in Season 10 were all runners-up on their respective years. Can any of the Season 15 comedians pull through in the end? So far we’ve seen Usama Siddiquee give it his all on the stage,...

Good news, Heidi Klum: 87% of ‘America’s Got Talent’ fans say ‘it’s simply not Agt’ without you [Poll Results]
Image
She’s baaack! And “America’s Got Talent” fans couldn’t be happier.

In our recent poll, we asked “Agt” viewers to weigh in on Heidi Klum returning to sit at the judges’ table after taking a year off, and a whopping 87% said they’re happy because “it’s simply not ‘Agt’ without Heidi.” The other 13% were less than enthused, voting they were “hoping for a different judge” to fill the empty seats of Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough. For Season 15 Heidi is joined by longtime “Agt” judges Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel as well as newbie Sofia Vergara. Do you agree or disagree with our readers’ poll results?

Amanda Lacount (‘America’s Got Talent’) on why she kept dancing despite Heidi Klum’s red X: ‘I’m having fun’ [Watch]
Image
“Unfortunately Heidi did not like my routine too much,” Amanda Lacount says in a new interview with NBC (watch above). This “America’s Got Talent” dancer from Fort Collins, Colorado made it through to the next round on the third episode of Season 15, but not before Heidi Klum pushed her red X buzzer midway through Amanda’s performance.

“There wasn’t a second in my head where I thought, ‘Oh my God, I’m gonna stop,'” recalls the 19-year-old. “I’m having fun. And if I’m having fun, then the audience is gonna enjoy watching it.” She’s right — the entire audience plus judges Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara and Howie Mandel all gave Amanda a standing ovation following her dance routine to Todrick Hall‘s “Nails, Hair, Hips, Heels.”

Simon Cowell rallies the audience behind dancer Amanda Lacount and tells her haters to ‘shut up’ [Watch]
Image
A 19-year old dancer from Fort Collins, Colorado surprised the audience on Tuesday’s third episode of “America’s Got Talent” with an inspirational, heartfelt and hard-hitting routine. Prior to her performance, Amanda Lacount told judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara and Howie Mandel that she’d been told her whole life she’s too big to dance and she didn’t have the right body type. Simon advised Amanda to tell those people to “shut up” because “they don’t know what they’re talking about.” Next, Amanda wowed viewers with a fun performance to Todrick Hall‘s “Nails, Hair, Hips Heels.” Watch her audition video above.

“I started dance when I was two years old,” Amanda told the camera. “My mom would take me to the dance studio and as soon as I got in there I fell in love with it. I can’t imagine doing anything else.
