Growing up action movies were, for me, second only to horror flicks as my go to genre. I used to scour the pages of Impact for news on the latest films and then pre-order the VHS at my local video shop – because yes, back in the day you could actually pre-order a video rental and I Always had to be first to rent my most-anticipated flicks! I mention this only because it was back in that era that the action movie star was king. Starting out with the likes of Stallone and Schwarzenegger, the VHS era gave birth to a myriad of action movie superstars: guys like Jean-Claude Van Damme, Steven Seagal, Jeff Speakman, Jeff Wincott and the queen of action films Cynthia Rothrock… all of whom carved out careers in what were – for the most part – direct to video films.

Exclusive: Mike Liotta has stepped down from his role as VP at True Public Relations to launch PR Machine. The newly formed boutique agency will be based in Los Angeles and focus on personal publicity.

Working in PR for 14 years, Liotta joined True Public Relations in 2005 as an assistant and quickly rose through the ranks before stepping into the position of VP.

Joining Liotta at PR Machine is Oscar, Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actress Regina King as well as Emmy-nominated actors Tim Matheson and Melora Hardin.

Ten years have passed since Charlie Hunnam and Rinko Kikuchi’s heroes channeled their inner Stacker Pentecost and canceled the apocalypse, but the years have not been kind to the Ppdc’s (Pan Pacific Defense Corps) Jaeger program.

Written off as a costly and unnecessary endeavor once the Kaiju have been defeated, by the time Pacific Rim: Uprising begins, those towering mechs will ostensibly be collecting dust – that is, until those otherworldly creatures begin to claw their way back from beyond the Breach. And so, the Ppdc begins to mount a defense against yet another mass invasion.

Headed up by two Jaeger pilots – played here by John Boyega (The Force Awakens) and Scott Eastwood (Suicide Squad) – the Mark VI fleet of Pacific Rim: Uprising is armed to the teeth with WMDs and other bells and whistles. A couple new posters have been released for director Steven S. DeKight's Pacific Rim Uprising. One of the posters offers us our first good look at Scott Eastwood in the film. As you can see, he's all suited up and ready to ride into battle piloting his Jaeger the Gypsy Avenger. He and John Boyega's characters are co-pilots in the story. We got our first poster featuring Boyega's character earlier this week. I've also included another poster for the film that you can check out below. It's more of a stylized piece that comes with the tagline, "Rise Up".

Legendary Pictures has released the first official poster for Pacific Rim: Uprising. It features John Boyega suited up and ready for battle with the Jaeger he pilots in the film, which is called the Gipsy Avenger. The first full trailer for the film is expected to be released next week during New York Comic Con. It'll be cool to see what exactly this sequel is going to offer.

The first teaser trailer has been released for Pacific Rim: Uprising and it comes in the form of a recruitment video. It gives us our first footage of John Boyega in the movie and it looks like he's ready to kick some Kaiju ass. There was a viral site that was also launched, GoJaeger.com, which has revealed five new Jaegers that will be in the sequel! I included the photos and information on each of those Jaegers below the teaser trailer. But first, here's a little information that gets us up to speed on where the film starts off.

The Jaeger program is looking for new recruits.

As the Internet grinds to a halt in anticipation of San Diego Comic-Con, Legendary has unleashed the first teaser trailer for Pacific Rim: Uprising, the Steven S. DeKnight-directed creature feature that places John Boyega (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) in the driving seat.

For when the Kaiju stage their resurgence, the former Attack the Block actor will lead the human resistance as Jake Pentecost, son of the apocalypse-canceling Stacker (Idris Elba). That leaves Boyega with some mighty big boots to fill – both human and otherwise – if he’s to command the story in the spirit of his on-screen father, but we’re quietly confident that the rising star is ready to step up to the plate. There's still so much that we don't know about producer Guillermo del Toro and director Steven S. Knight's Pacific Rim: Uprising. Just yesterday we got our first official photo featuring John Boyega, who is playing the son of Idris Elba's character, Stacker Pentecost. We now have a new image to share with you giving us our first look at three new Jaegers that we'll get to see in action! 

The art comes from the latest issue of License! Global (Via: Comingsoon). I imagine Boyega, Scott Eastwood, and some of the other characters in the film will be piloting these bad boys, the names of which I'm sure will be revealed in due time. 

We don't have any story details for this sequel, but we know that these Jaegers will battle Kaiju. There's also a chance that we'll see a hybrid of the two.

Chinese actor star Zhang Jin has climbed aboard Pacific Rim: Maelstrom as a last-minute addition.

The sci-fi sequel, which recently entered production Down Under, has assembled a formidable roster of international talent, headlined by Jing Tian (The Great Wall, Kong: Skull Island), Wesley Wong, Lily Ji, Chen Zitong and Lan Yingying. That apocalypse won’t cancel itself, though, and we know that Maelstrom‘s ensemble also makes room for The Force Awakens breakout John Boyega – he’ll take point as the son of Stacker Pentecost – Lana Candor, Scott Eastwood, Jing Tian, Cailee Spaeny, Ivanna Sakhno and Adria Arjona.

MGM president of television and digital Mark Burnett said on Monday the company’s new joint venture Gato Grande Productions has acquired the story of the iconic Mexican singer.

Gato Grande Productions was formed between MGM and Mexican entrepreneurs Miguel Aleman and Antonio Cué to produce Spanish-language content for global audiences.

Gato Grande’s head of development Carla González Vargas will oversee development of the Luis Miguel TV series.

“It has taken me a long time to want to tell my story and I have been looking for the right team to tell it the way it should be told,” said Miguel. “Mark and the Gato Grande team are the perfect partners for this.”

Tokyo Comic-Con had all the best in kaiju geekery this past weekend, which seems fair - the blighters are always smashing the city up, it's only right they get a bit of payback now and then, and a chance to cherry-pick the good stuff.
