Currently available to stream on digital platforms, Heroes of the Golden Mask is a new animated film from Gravitas Ventures. The adventure movie is inspired by the bronze masks of Sanxingdui, which were discovered in the Sichuan Province in the late 1980s. In addition to paying homage to China's ancient kingdom, it is also the final feature of the late Christopher Plummer.

Created by Xiaoming Yao and based on John Wilson's novel, Sean Patrick O'Reilly serves as the film's director. Josh Duhamel has joined Season 2 of the Disney Plus series “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers.”

Duhamel joins the show as a new character named Gavin Cole, a former NHL player turned coach. Described as inspirational, charming, and hardcore, he’s big on the hockey metaphor that applies to life. He runs the super-intense summer hockey institute where The Mighty Ducks land in Season 2.

Duhamel was recently seen in the Netflix series “Jupiter’s Legacy” and lent his voice to the anime series “Blade Runner: Black Lotus.” He will next be seen in the NBC limited series “The Thing About Pam,” which will debut on March 8. He will also appear in the upcoming Lionsgate film “Shotgun Wedding” in June 2022. His other TV roles include “Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G.,” “11.22.63,” “Las Vegas,” and “All My Children.”

Duhamel is repped by ICM, John Carrabino Management, Hansen Jacobson, and Viewpoint.

Emilio Estevez will not be returning for Season 2 of Disney Plus’ “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers,” Variety has confirmed.

According to a source close to the production, Estevez’s departure is due to a disagreement over ABC Signature’s Covid-19 vaccination requirement, as he would not confirm that he would comply with the policy. Therefore, the studio decided not to renew his contract for Season 2. Under the recent return-to-work agreement between studios and unions, production for “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers” requires vaccination against Covid-19 for everyone in Zone A, which includes all actors and crew members who come into contact with them.

It is unclear exactly how Estevez’s character will be written off of the show. Disney had no comment on his departure from the show and a representative for Estevez did not respond to a request for comment.

Per Deadline, Emilio Estevez will not be returning as Coach Bombay for the second season of the TV adaptation of the series.

The outlet states Disney decided against picking up the actor's contract for more episodes after much back and forth regarding the series' mandate for Covid vaccination.

Furthermore, Deadline states that Emilio refused to assure he would comply with the mandate, which complicated his return to the franchise.

Instead, Disney opted to move ahead in a new direction, making changes to the scripts.

The last-minute decision means production will not get underway until next year, meaning fans likely have a lengthy hiatus in store.

Like many film and TV projects, The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers has added a mandatory vaccination policy, which has been a part of an agreement between studios and unions.

Steve Brill, the original creator, writer and executive producer of all three “Mighty Ducks” films from the ’90s, is co-creator and executive producer on the new series alongside showrunners Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa George Heller and Brad Petrigala of Brillstein Entertainment Partners are also executive producers on the new season.

Production on Season 2 is scheduled to begin early next year.

On Thursday, Disney+ announced the 57-year-old actor will be reprising his role of coach Gordon Bombay — which he played in The Mighty Ducks film franchise — in the upcoming TV series based on the sports trilogy.

Just a day after the news that Rick Moranis is returning to the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids franchise, it’s been announced that Emilio Estevez has closed a deal to reprise his role as Coach Gordon Bombay in Disney Plus’ The Mighty Ducks TV show, and we’ve also got our first look at him in the series thanks to the pics below.

Deadline broke the news this afternoon, along with various other details about the original series. The 10-episode show will feature Estevez, who’s also serving as an executive producer, alongside fellow lead Lauren Graham and young lead Brady Noon. The Mighty Ducks reboot comes from the mind of original screenwriter Steve Brill and Till Death creators Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa.

When The Mighty Ducks arrive on Disney+ there will be at least one familiar face.

Emilio Estevez has joined the cast of the TV sequel, reprising his Coach Bombay role from the beloved '90s film franchise.

“Once a Duck, always a Duck!,” Estevez exclaimed in a statement confirming the news.

“After 25 years, I am delighted to lace up my skates, put on Coach Bombay’s jacket and return to play the iconic character for this new chapter in The Mighty Ducks franchise."

"Likewise, I am thrilled to return to my old stomping grounds with my friends at Disney and Steve Brill, the original creator of the franchise, to join them on their exciting new platform, Disney+.”

Estevez will also be an Executive Producer on the series.

Emilio Estevez has joined Disney+ “The Mighty Ducks” TV series, reprising his iconic role as the beloved Coach Gordon Bombay from the hit ’90s film franchise.

He will star alongside previously announced series regulars Lauren Graham and Brady Noon. Also joining the cast are Swayam Bhatia, Taegen Burns, Julee Cerda, Bella Higginbotham, Luke Islam, Kiefer O’Reilly, Maxwell Simkins and De’Jon Watts.

In addition to starring, Estevez will serve as an executive producer on the 10-episode show, which is set to premiere later this year on Disney’s streaming service.

Disney+ is bringing The Mighty Ducks franchise back to life as a sequel series starring Lauren Graham, Brady Noon, and Emilio Estevez!

Variety reports that Disney+ has ordered a sequel TV series to long-running Disney hockey franchise The Mighty Ducks. Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls) has been tapped to play the lead with Brady Noon (Good Boys) playing her son. As part of the official announcement Disney+ confirmed some even bigger news about the project: Emilio Estevez will return to reprise his role as Coach Gordon Bombay!
