Presumed Innocent is Apple TV+’s latest series and a must-watch for legal drama fans. Created by Big Little Lies and Boston Legal‘s David E. Kelley, Presumed Innocent is based on a 1987 novel of the same name by Scott Turow; the book was adapted in 1990 with a film of the same name directed by Alan J. Pakula from a screenplay co-written by Frank Pierson and J. Pakula with Harrison Ford playing the leading man Rozat K. “Rusty” Sabich.
Apple TV+’s Presumed Innocent follows the story of Rusty Sabich, a Chicago city prosecutor and a family man who becomes the prime suspect of a colleague’s murder, with whom he had an affair. Where the film showed us this story in completely black and white, the series adaptation plays around in the greys and doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to prove anyone innocent. So, if you...

Less than a month after his generally unnecessary Netflix adaptation of Tom Wolfe’s A Man in Full, David E. Kelley continues his visitations with the Ghosts of Literary Phenomena Past with Apple TV+’s eight-episode take on Scott Turow’s Presumed Innocent.
Presumed Innocent was released in 1987, and the twisty character study of Rusty Sabich, a prosecutor who finds himself on the other side of the justice system when he’s accused of murdering a former colleague, breathed new life into dramatic jurisprudence. It was a smash hit, as was Alan J. Pakula’s solid 1990 big-screen version, which kickstarted a tiny subgenre of Chicago-set films in which Harrison Ford either did or didn’t kill the woman he was sleeping with. Both the book and the film were accused of either misogyny or myopia in their treatment of their female characters; both were products of a moment at which...

Of L.A.’s two NBA teams, the Clippers have always been like the neglected little brother next to the more glamorous and celebrated Lakers. So it’s fitting, then, that FX’s new Clippers chronicle Clipped — premiering Tuesday, June 4 exclusively on Hulu; I’ve seen all six episodes — pales in comparison to HBO’s superior Lakers saga Winning Time. A gaudy and campy basketball docudrama sung in the key of Ryan Murphy (though Murphy isn’t involved in this production), Clipped bites off far more than it can chew. It’s part underdog sports drama, part overheated soap opera...

Apple TV+ has revealed the first teaser-trailer for “Presumed Innocent” starring Jake Gyllenhaal, from Emmy-winning creator David E. Kelley.
Gyllenhaal narrates the trailer as Rusty Sabich, a man seemingly consumed by his love for a woman named Carolyn (Renate Reinsve). “She woke something up inside me,” he says as the footage cuts between his time with her and images of cars and courtrooms and arguments — clearly invoking a darker twist in this alleged romance. Carolyn, it turns out, has been murdered and, given their history, Rusty is the prime suspect.
What the trailer leaves out is extra juicy: Rusty and Carolyn were coworkers and prosecutors, and the suspected crime sends waves through the Chicago Prosecuting Attorney’s office as they mourn a colleague, reel from an affair, and pursue a murder investigation — to say nothing of how it affects Rusty’s marriage and home life.
The rest of the cast includes Ruth Negga,...

Keke Palmer‘s mother Sharon Palmer is sticking up for her daughter on Instagram.
If you didn’t know, the 30-year-old actress split from Darius Jackson in October and filed a restraining order against him.
Keke says their relationship ended “primarily due to the physical and emotional abuse inflicted.” She is asking the court for sole custody of their baby son, Leodis.
The Alice star accused her ex of destroying her personal property, hitting her, preventing her from driving away, trespassing, and more.
Darius‘ brother Sarunas Jackson then condemned abuse in a since-deleted tweet, but it was unclear whether he was addressing his brother or Keke. He wrote vaguely, “The most disgusting, vile, abusive, manipulative person I have Ever encountered in my entire life…Abuses almost everyone.”
Now, Keke‘s mother is responding to those comments and calling him out.

With a New Year comes a triumphant return to The Coterie!
It feels like ages since we've tuned into Good Trouble, and all the fun, heartache, and shocking cliffhangers abound at The Coterie.
And we won't have to wait much longer before we can dive into a new season.
We only have to get past those pesky holidays.
Good Trouble will return with the second part of its fifth season on January 2, and there's so much to look forward to when it does.
For one, Cierra Ramirez herself will be directing during the second half of this season, which is a huge feat and such an accomplishment for an actress who continues to excel at her work.
The new promo teases teamwork, the series leaning heavily into its found family, and even actual family goodness when we glimpse Stef and Lena -- possibly at Callie's wedding reception!

The status of Keke Palmer and Darius Jackson's relationship remains a mystery after their viral summer drama. On Aug. 16, a source told People that Jackson had "moved on" from the relationship, which was thrown into the spotlight in July after he publicly criticized Palmer for wearing a sheer thong dress to an Usher concert. "We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn't want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is," Jackson wrote on Twitter on July 5 before briefly deactivating his account. "This is my family & my representation. I have standards & morals to what I believe. I rest my case."
On Aug. 16, another source told Entertainment Tonight that the pair "called it quits shortly after [Jackson] called [Palmer] out on Twitter for her outfit at the Usher concert." They added, "Keke is...

"I don't know how I can help." Gravitas Ventures has revealed an official trailer for a crime thriller titled Among the Beasts, the latest from actor / filmmaker Matthew Newton. Now set to open both in theaters and on VOD coming up in February. When a gangster's daughter reluctantly teams with a former Marine to find her kidnapped cousin, the combat veteran must overcome his own demons in order to rescue the child. There's not much more to the plot than that, yet another of these junk films being dumped on VOD every week. This indie thriller stars Tory Kittles, Libe Barer, Sarunas J. Jackson, Kate Easton, Jeremy Holm, Mark Mitton, with Jon Bass, and Jim Norton. Unfortunately this looks instantly forgettable and entirely uninteresting, not even worth watching the trailer either. Save yourself the trouble and just skip it. ›››

Falling in love with Alice Kwan on Good Trouble is easy.
Falling in love with the multitalented star who plays her is even easier. Sherry Cola is an unapologetic, unstoppable rising star, and she's taking Hollywood and the comedy world by storm. Her passion is unmatched.
TV Fanatic caught up with Sherry Cola again to discuss Good Trouble, her love of comedy, trailblazing through the industry as a queer, Asian-American woman, and much more. Grab a snack and enjoy the chat below!
Sherry: Jasmine, my dear. We meet again.
Tvf: I know. I get a double dose of Sherry Cola. It sounds like a caffeinated energy drink.
That sounds like a reality show, a dating reality show, like A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila. [Laugh]
It does. You should do that. You're doing everything else.
That also sounds like I'm coming for Fauci's crown and in the booster game too.

Peppy comedy sets four jaded Los Angelenos up with a perilous challenge that could go on for eternity – and certainly has franchise potential
A kindred spirit to Jumanji, this film is centred on a supernatural board game its four protagonists must win before sunrise to avoid being trapped for all eternity playing it. It’s to director Alberto Belli’s credit that his comedy drums up a sizeable proportion of the 1995 film’s fun on a fraction of the budget. Decidedly only for players aged 16 and above, like all great board games Gatlopp gives a vague impression of imparting significant life wisdom, but actually is mostly concerned with making sure everyone has as good a time as possible.
After his wife cheats on him, Los Angeleno Paul (Jim Mahoney) is finalising his divorce and moving into temporary digs chez bestie Cliff (Jon Bass). Wanting to cheer his pal up, Cliff...

“We are tremendously grateful for the truly spectacular journey of these past two seasons, courtesy of Alissa Nutting, Christina Lee, Cristin, Billy, Ray and the entire ‘Made for Love’ cast and creative team – especially Zelda the talking dolphin and everyone’s favorite synthetic love interest, Diane,” representatives for HBO Max said in a statement Friday. “Like a Gogol chip, the series will always be on our minds.”
The cancellation of the Cristin Milioti-led Max original comes on the heels of one of the streamer’s other titles, Ridley Scott’s “Raised by Wolves,” getting the axe earlier this week amid ongoing shakeups at HBO Max’s new parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery.
Based on the novel by Alissa Nutting, “Made for Love” is described as “a poignantly humorous story of modern love and divorce.

"Do me a favor? Roll a 6." XYZ Films has revealed an trailer for an indie horror comedy titled Gatlopp, marking the feature directorial debut of Mexican filmmaker Alberto Belli. "One game. One rule. Don't lie... or you die." That's the tagline here, and the premise for this. A group of friends reunite for an evening after one of their own has a gnarly divorce. As it's been almost a decade since they were last all together, waxing nostalgic, they decide to play a drinking game. But this is no ordinary game; if they don't bond together to confront their past, they'll be forced to play the game for eternity. The cast includes Jim Mahoney (who wrote the script), Emmy Raver-Lampman, Jon Bass, Sarunas J. Jackson, Shelley Hennig, John Ales, and Amy Davidson. This looks hilarious! A dash of Jumanji with some horror board game madness. I like the bright, colorful...

A young Latinx man hired to portray a bartender in the Season 2 finale of “Good Trouble” took his mark in the South Los Angeles warehouse in which the scene was taking place and looked up and across from him. There, projected onto the wall, was the face of an even younger man who was a close family friend before he was killed by police. It was an emotional moment, but it was also the epitome of the environment the team behind the show was trying to create.
“We’re trying to create environments where people feel into what is happening,” says Patrisse Cullors, co-founder, Black Lives Matter Global Network and co-writer of the “Good Trouble” finale episode entitled “Trap Heals.” “It’s not a protest space, it’s not necessarily an art gallery, but it does protest and it is fine art. Things quickly heat up between the two after their first run in with each other at a local cupcake shop, which is also where we're introduced Dro's wife, Candice (Gabrielle Dennis). A few days later, Dro drops a bombshell on Molly while slow dancing together at a party: he's in an open marriage.
Although Molly initially resists his advances out of respect for his wife, Dro insists that Candice is perfectly Ok with him sleeping with other women. In fact, he tells her that it was her idea to be open in their relationship so there wouldn't be any secrets to hide from one another. Now that all sounds great on paper, but when you take a closer look at Dro's actions, it starts to paint a different story.

Season three of HBO's Insecure will return to fog up our TV screens starting Aug. 12. Issa Rae, star and series creator, announced the exciting news on Instagram with some help from her costars Yvonne Orji (Molly), Natasha Rothwell (Kelli), and Amanda Seales (Tiffany), writing, "We heard you wanna date? My girls got you!"
With the roller-coaster finale that left us all an emotional wreck, we have no clue what to expect this go around. Will we discover the truth about Tiffany's suspicious pregnancy? Will Molly realize her worth and leave Dro (Sarunas J. Jackson) alone for good? Will Issa (Rae) and Lawrence (Jay Ellis) rekindle their romance? We have our fingers crossed that Ellis will make a return after the actor told us he doesn't know "if there's a future for [Issa and Lawrence]" after last season.

If Issa Rae is ever struggling with writer's block, this apparent love triangle between her Insecure co-stars might inspire her to put pen to paper. Fans were surprised to find out that two actors from the hit HBO series, Dominique Perry and Sarunas J. Jackson, supposedly welcomed a baby girl together. Dominique shared—and later deleted—the birth announcement on Instagram, but Sarunas took to Twitter with a black and white photo of the newborn identical to his co-star's post. "Nwts," he captioned the photo, a reference to Drake's 2013 album Nothing Was the Same. Meanwhile, Dominique (who documented her pregnancy journey on social...
