A Halloween Feast opens with a strange and bloody scene before a voiceover from Karen Long informs us that she’s worried about her mother Angela. Since she retired from teaching, she’s picked up some odd habits, such as sitting in the yard burning ants with a magnifying glass and killing the family pets.

Six months later it hasn’t gotten any better, and she goes as far as cutting off her husband Richard’s finger and feeding it to him after he mentions it’s the twelfth night in a row she’s served meatloaf for dinner. That gets her committed to a mental hospital.

‘A Halloween Feast’ Brings Ghoulish Delights to Los Angeles
Image
This weekend, horror fans in Los Angeles are in for a treat as A Halloween Feast begins its theatrical run at the Lumiere Music Hall, starting tonight, August 9th. Directed by Guile Branco, in his feature film directorial debut, the movie promises a darkly comedic twist on the traditional family dinner—one that spirals into utter madness.

The Crazies and Shivers star Lynn Lowry leads the cast in this gruesome horror-comedy, where she plays Angela Long, a former dancer whose descent into madness sets the stage for a nightmarish Halloween dinner. As Angela’s grip on reality slips, her family’s attempts to manage the situation only make things worse, unraveling their lives in bizarre and blood-soaked ways. The film’s climax, a Halloween night feast, pulls out all the stops, featuring twisted power dynamics, unsettling revelations, and even a potential appearance by a dinosaur, all adding to the chaos of the evening.

Breaking Glass Pictures is releasing the horror comedy A Halloween Feast at the Lumiere Music Hall in Los Angeles on August 9th, and On Digital and On Demand September 10th. The film stars horror legend Lynn Lowry, best known for her roles in George A. Romero’s The Crazies and David Cronenberg’s Shivers, alongside Julia Coulter, Guile Branco, Lou D’Amato, Asia Lynn Pitts, and Pancho Moler.

A dysfunctional family’s lives spiral into chaos on Halloween night, ending in tragedy, and it’s kind of a funny story.

Directed by Guile Branco, A Halloween Feast is based on a script co-written by Branco and Arthur McClen, and made its world premiere in 2024 at Fantaspoa, Brazil’s longest-running film festival.
